After about 10 minutes of playing my Gamecube, I get the message that it can't read the disc, does anyone know how to fix this? Or is my Gamecube done for?

Well, if it has only done it that one time I wouldn't worry so much. I'm beginning to wonder about mine though. It doesn't read discs right off the bat sometimes. Hrm, maybe our 'cubes are ready to be buried. For most part though I wouldn't worry unless its reoccuring.

I have an American Gamecube, and a Japanese modem.. Could this have anything to do with my problem?

Naw. That shouldn't affect your PSO from reading the disc. You could have a dirty lense, or the laser could be slightly off.
As for hardware like a modem, they're compatible and it shouldn't affect how the game is read by the 'cube.

Get some windex and some paper towel and wipe down the bottom of your disk. My PS2 demodisc got glue on it once and now it works. (yes I play PS2)

My disc isn't the problem, I can't play any of my games. I've tried cleaning the lens a couple times, no luck. I'm just going to get a new Gamecube, on my way to do that now actually. Thanks for your help, guys.
