im guessing sega is blocking and unblocking isps in a carousel motion to see where the ddos came from or at least try to narrow it down somewhat xD so next twc will be blocked and then mine will probably work for a week or so :/ (cablevision / optimum online) but in the end well all lose or win the fight depending on what sega decides to do from here on out :/ tbh it feels like were on borrowed time as it is with this game :/

Yes, Verizon got blocked roughly two hours before the server came up.

and TWC suddenly was able to connect right after that.

It appears that way. I get 107 any time I try to use the launcher, and I get 249 if I try to log in using Tweaker.

Honestly I feel this is probably the case.

First off a tracert.

As you can see our connection is getting to Japan. Alter.net hands off to the kddi.jp which eventually hands off to IDC.JP. The problem is the connection is looping at the end.

The IP addresses respond also to IDC.JP even though they don't have DNS attached to them. Some sleuthing reveals these servers are for Softbank IDC Frontier which is a subsidiary of Yahoo Japan. Does anyone know someone that works at Yahoo that might be able to reach out to the Softbank group or can we have some JP friends reach out to Softbank directly? The best Verizon might be able to do is bounce our connection to another route so it doesn't go through Alter.net, and that doesn't guarantee we run into a new issue once done.

Not sure what's going on here, when I do a tracert, I put in tracert gs016.pso2gs.net and I get this:

Please stop it.

There is nothing on 2ch/twitter. If what you're saying was true, we would still be seeing a lot of complaints.

All you're doing is confusing this poor community even more and we really don't want that...

Also, drop the act and type normally.

I'm still getting 630'd periodically, but I can reconnect every few tries

For future reference, what is a tracert and how do I find it...?

Evangelion X.XX
Jul 8, 2014, 08:03 PM
^Use Command Prompt and type tracert. Example, type:

tracert pso2.jp

It traces the route to the location.

Edit: Also, see

http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220319&page=5

since it has a youtube video explaining what is tracert and how it works.

That would be correct. This whole IP ban business is interesting for me, kinda like a mystery to unravel since Sega isn't saying anything. I have a friend on Verizon FIOS but he's not here at the moment and I'm curious as to what route it's taking versus TWC's.
