For those of you who use Time Warner it seems to be working for me. Id like to confirm thought with anyone else who uses it.

TWC here, I have business class fiber at work and cable broadband at home, and I can access both the website and the game from both home and work.

This is pretty normal during anti-ddos measures, give it a few more days to clear up and I bet we'll see some other ISP's being able to connect that are currently 'blocked'.

Yeah, I have TWC and was able to log on very smoothly after maintenance and the game ran normally aside from the usual hiccups. My brother though is with Century Link and unable to get on so at least now I know what's going on.

If any of you TWC guys have tried doing a tracert to pso2.jp, it looks like it picked up a route in a roundabout manner:

See that route after RR's backbone (route #9). I tried going to that website (adelphiacom.net) - that domain's for sale. Did a whois - belongs to some random dude in Hong Kong. Some research seems to indicate this is a defunct ISP.

I'm wondering if we TWC customers got lucky with our servers finding a route through a router sitting in someone's basement unmanaged or something.

All the hops after that continually time out till it hits #30, which is probably tracert's default threshold. Looks like it's using that adelphia route too.

Adelphia went bankrupt and their assets were sold off to Time-Warner and Comcast. Unless SEGA really did find some way to play ISP roulette, I wouldn't worry about your connection dying off. It isn't some random router in some Hong Kong basement.

Though the idea is a funny one.
