well i don't know if anyone even remembers me anymore.
I was so excited for pso2 then the release date rolled around and nothing...
no new news no new news and more no new news....

i basically gave up.
people pestered me to play the jp version, but that just didn't sit with me sorry.

it isn't only pso2, i have been waiting for yakuza 4 and yakuza 1&2 HD.

still nothing, i feel i have lost faith in sega.

so.. unless you guys know some news, i just don't know what anymore.

All we got from SEGA officially is it's still on way for release, and they'll have more information as the time comes... sadly.

I remember you from PSU, welcome back dood.

With the way they've handled the news about any possible western release, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

All I can say is... http://www.pso2.com/us/

Look at the date of the last blog/news update. G.G.

I would say to play the Japanese version, but with the IP block it just seems stupid to try and tell people to try the game now. If it ever does go away, I do recommend just playing with English patch though. Ship 2 has quite the English community even with the recent issues as well.

theres no real release date for the west my guess would be Sega thinks the Vita doesn't have enough jrpg fans in the west to release it outside JP
read my sig for what really is happening with PSO2

>_>

if anything, I think SEGA is thriving with only JP consumers.

the only ones that die are those at SoA.

I hate to be that guy, but just to clarify, it's not an IP block but a different type of block. There are various people within the west who dont need a VPN or SSH Tunnel to get in.

SoJ isnt driving themselves into the grave. Quite the opposite. Bizniz is boomin' brah.

The problem lies within the west with SoE and SoA. The issues with these two, especially SoA is all political nonsense within the structure that is Sega. Possibly Sega-Sammy has a lot to do with it because they're the share-holders and everything.

*shrugs*

It's all business related tbh. At least that's how I strongly feel.

I did not state any section of the company in general. yes, the jp section is probably thriving since they cater and listen to their fans.
the A and E branches are going out of business because they do the opposite.

They do the opposite because SoJ is big daddy, SoE is big momma, and SoA is the little neglected child.

When it all comes down to it, SoJ has both E and A on a leash and SoJ likes neither. It especially hates SoA.

That isnt to say there isnt something that SoA or E can do, but they're kinda restricted unless J gives them the green lights they need.

it and 3 both came out a year after the JP release

Yakuza 5 came out in 2012

so i goofed, im waiting for 5.
but yes, sega said they wouldn't localize 3, and then they did.
there is a rumor that some threats were made that caused sega to crack and listen for once.
