The Sonic games on the Genesis did have bugs in them but it didn't stop the player from finishing the game. Sonic Advance 1 for the GBA is another good example no bugs, pretty fun but the challenges to collecting the chaos emeralds were a pain plus hard to do because of the control pad on the GBA.

Amy Rose in Sonic Advance 1 was OP if you used her Highjump or Hammer spin attack during any boss fight you could infinite chain on Eggman. Cream and Cheese were OP in Sonic Advance 2. I imagine Sonic Advance 3 had the same issue.

Adventure sucked too. But Adventure 2 was the opening for weird Sonic fans to start making Sonic Original Characters that went to the Academy of Speed to train under Sonic (aged 50) to continue his legacy. They would eventually master Super, Hyper, and then learn a new form called Ultra to beat the new ultimate evil and make Sonic proud.
