Hey, tomorrow SEGA will disabling some features again in response to server lag issue!
Holy shit, when they fix it for real instead of cutting grass in the middle of nowhere.

From Bumped.org:
Icons and numbers for new notifications will not be updated during Emergency Quests. This measure affects the notification icon and number that displays in the “Community” section of the Main Menu. This change will target the following situations:
- Mail
- Friend Requests
- Team Invites
- Campaign Reward notifications. (The [!] icon above the Visiphone.)
- New notification icons and numbers will display when logging into the game when Emergency Quests are not occurring. As for the things that arrive during EQs, the notification icon will display if you log into the game again after the Emergency Quest is over.

Also reminder that on 19th November maintenance GGG trigger will be removed from casino reward shop, and there will be Live Broadcast on Nov 18th.

I think it needs to be spelled out a bit more than that.

Next weeks maintenance, that is, the one where we get Ult, is where we lose the chance the purchase Gunne Ginna Gan triggers, among others. If you wish to try and get those units the easy way, better start collecting.

Wonder how relevant those units will be by the time they release a Shironia AQ.

Assuming that even happens in the first place.

i still think the lag issues were caused by the changes in sega's servers after the ddos. cutting random stuff wont make much, if any difference either way im betting.

Yup. At this point, they're just throwing crap against the wall and hoping something sticks.

why wouldn't they make a Shironia AQ?
I'm betting there will be meatier units than Saiki real soon too, but it's not guaranteed if they will have the dex bonus on them or not.

They only release AQs in sets of 3 maps and since the last batch (Coast, Quarry and Seabed) we only had 2 new maps (Shironia and Facility). We first have to wait for a 3rd map and then it mostly takes them 1-2 months before brining out AQs for them.

With them releasing the Extra Hard quests and Ultimate Quests, I'm wondering where future AQs are going fit in the new line of progression.

I suppose they could just add Extra Hard difficulty to them, as well.

They will probably sidestep the issue as much as they can(read: VPNs and AWS proxy users). Seems Sega doesn't want to lose any potential revenue, as insignificant as we are in terms or raw numbers. They will delay this issue until the Japanese scream "enough".

Not until level 80 cap, just like the old VH being irrelevant and they throw SH in after sometime.

They could throw in mothership AQ with Dorios and Angel as bosses.

That is an option yeah. I myself have been wondered about Darkers Den as an AQ as well for a while. I mean, city was turned in one so why not EQ "exclusive" areas like Mothership or Den.

Guess all we can do is wait but I would love Shironia and Facility AQs.

Problem with Darker's Den AQ is that it doesn't have any exclusive mobs or bosses. As for Mothership, all it has is Angel (there's no AQ where a Falz Arm appears as an end boss) while Hunar appears in the ruins.

I'm expecting Angel to be one of the Facility AQ bosses, the other being the Leo Madurad/Nept Cassadora duo.

They could put Persona and Falz Arms as bosses for DD while having either Theodore, Luther (himself not DF Luther/Loser), or Falz Angel as bosses for Mothership.

They keep talking about server load issues, i don't really understand what they mean really, It lags for everyone but only during times of EQs when the server is extremely busy, I always thought it was a hardware issue, when the is so busy i imagine it to be like trying to suck on a thick shake. I would never of imagined it to be small things like sega have stated.

I would expect a precede download. If it's over 2GB or so, then yea, maybe will get one.

I just realized something.
Probably the only way to properly deal with lag issues is throw a huge amount of hardware at it (like double the servers or some shit) or rewrite a significant part of the code.

Since sega is inclined not to do the former (apparently they removed some again cause I see 13 as SH block again when 15 was the first not too long ago) as it is too expensive for them, that only leaves the latter.
but sega is super lazy, so it's not gonna happen.

Even if, this would be a slow fix where they would have to prepare a long time while recoding the relevant parts and then it would require some extensive testing to make sure they didn't screw up other things along the way.
So, not gonna happen.

At leas that is seems the most likely case, but know sega's expert programming skills it might but something as simple as stupid SQLs which could actually be fixed on a fly if sega just had half the brains of meerkats.

SEGA are not that lazy, they're just not competent enough to do so. But let's not start to bash SEGA dev, fixing stuff are no easy matter.

I know, I'm a developer myself (C#) but it seems to me like sega is side stepping the issue and implement a ton of workarounds without addressing the real problem.

Cause I am sure what cause the lag are not just EQs and certainly not secondary things like friend requests or mail notifications.
It's hard to believe anything but player interaction (fighting, etc.) and game mechanics, enemies, etc. is what causes the lag.

That means either sega's code is horribly inefficient and there is indeed no other way to fix the real source of the lag besides recoding the implementation of this (i.e. the core parts of the game) or the code is fine but the hardware is simply insufficient.
In the latter case all sega has to do is throw more servers at it and the lag should be not a problem anymore.

Though, even when sega had allegedly taken actions to counter the lag and 15 was the first SH block, I still got the same lag as always.
During rush hours, when a lot of JP players are online the servers can#t seem to be able to handle this much traffic.

So you want sega to make more direct approach to solve this problem?

Im personally think they just should take it slow like right now.

Do you even remember last time they tried being smart and end up wipe HDD data instead.
From the looks of it, they seems to not yet discover the core problem up until this day.

At least they tried and not ignoring this problem.

You got IP blocked, mate.
Maybe ask quick question thread or lurk more for vita bypass.
