Kinda funny to hear.

Kinda funny that this happens right after PSO2 JP stops blocking a lot of foreign IPs.

Now isn't that a funny coincidence.

I hear DDoSing a game server is one tactic to get data to make a private server.

Do you know what DDoS attacks are?

Yea they flood the server with requests so that they are unable to respond to regular requests, but DDoSing is sometimes (http://www.zdnet.com/symantec-data-stealing-hackers-use-ddos-to-distract-from-attacks-7000005481/) used as a front for another attack.

Even if "hacker" able to use DDoS as their cover fire doesn't mean they will use this method to stealing, where do you hear about private server thing?

I know that some people are working on it atm, but i'm never expect or hear that they are pulling such a dick move.

Think about it: Who the fuck would make a pso2 SEA private server? They're not even episode 2!

Not saying it's you :P

There's another group known for doing this on Asian games - they did that to Aura Kingdom and a few others afaik but I'm not a CSI person.

AFAIK localized versions tend to be more lax on security, it's those versions that tend to have "leaked" private servers.

Of course it could also be someone unhappy with Asiasoft or a password/credit card number heist or something else altogether.

I sure hope it's just that, especially since it's right after sega finally made routing from outside japan possible again.

So which IPs can get into PSO2 now? I don't think this was a universal opening, as people in this topic suggest.

As for the Japanese one, many on ATT and Comcast's networks still can't connect.

There's lot of people claiming able to connect just fine now.
Sadly SEAmen don't see any light to this day, being dirty SEAmen sure is really suffering.

Lets just say that it didnt take a month to regain composure from their DDoS unlike a certain magical japanese server index.

WoW also had its share of issues as well but i don't believe they were related cases.
