IMO this new dance beats dance 20. I bought it for my waifu when the servers came back online for 21Mill and it's just awesome. Normally I would feel that's way too much but not when a LA is this awesome.

It's like 16Mill now. Not bad at all for the best dance atm!

Well, that means it'll never be okay, then. The new norm for dances seems to be 15-20mil per ticket.

No idea how that happened, since they used to be around 5-9mil per ticket, but that just up and changed one day. I think Dance 27 is when it all started. It makes no sense to me, this outrageous price-jump.

The changes to TACOs and Faina's dailies are mostly to blame, I imagine. Meseta farming COs are much more accessible to people now that it's a simple matter of doing some trivial COs on a daily basis and doing TACOs weekly instead of keeping up with a daily reset on TACOs.

In a Japanese game, typically what the majority of people consider to be the best dance (or even outfit), would be the one that caters to one main thing in particular: Waifu Fanservice. Certain dances like Dance 20, and Dance 22 will always be expensive because of that reason. (Unrelated to Dances but...) Hell, even the Vivid Punkish outfits have pantsu shots all over the uploader and it has only been one night (not a bad thing either... giggity).

It of course all boils down to personal preference at the end. Female Dance 29 looks decent to good IMO, but the Male version looks ridiculous (maybe it looks better if a male is preforming it... don't care enough to look it up... because REASONS!!! more than likely not). To me Dance 29 is worth a max of 10 mil, which is why I will never be getting it most likely... no regrets if I don't either. IMO it goes Dance 20 >>>>>> Dance 22 >> Dance 29, based on... well Fanservice lol.

Well dance 20 will remain infamous for it's just from 6mil to 12mil+ in two days. Dance 22 kinda did the same thing. Ever since the cheerleader routine though, dances are being priced for nearly 20mil on the get-go.

Despite Xaeris being right that it is a factor, this 3x price jump is just absolutely batshit nuts. I mean, technically the total possible meseta gains from TACOs/DOs may have went down compared to the possibility of doing tacos every day, but of course not everyone does, or even wants to do that, but still 20mil+tickets on patch day?! It's the norm now for no reason.

The eternal F long makes dance 29 price seem tame btw (still looks like a case of bedhead, and not actually styled).

Oh, yeah, I agree that I fully expected some form of inflation on just about everything after the whole TACO/XQ/Daily CO rebalance went live, sure. I was thinking maybe an 80% increase, or thereabouts. But, like you pointed out, the tripled price absolutely astonished me.

But, thing is, emote tickets (namely dances) were the only thing to jump in price so dramatically, sans certain hairstyles. Everything else from scratches either stayed the same price, or even lowered. So, I still don't understand what happened. I would agree to the 'Fanservice' bit if the dances were actually good, but, they ain't. The female Dance29 is the first one out of the last five or so to be any sort of decent.

Well the long hairstyle from akarin moeblob scratch was almost 20mil, and like I said, the long eternal F may be close to double dance 29's price. Hairstyles have been getting brutal on release too. I used to think 4mil for rough twintails was like being mugged sans the physical violence, but now...

Consumable tickets in general shot up and I have no idea why this is a trend now, and it's pretty safe to say it started in the JP community.

Oh, of course.

Anything is only worth what people are willing to pay.

So, if people are willing to pay stupid prices for things like that (and, they are, since a fair amount of people that play PSO2 now have 9-figure meseta figures in their wallets at any given time), it won't lower.

Could always get lucky and find someone trying to fire-sell one just to get quick cash, though.

The price did go down... from 33mil to 16 simply because people weren't willing to pay that much.

As it was said, the value is what people are willing to pay for it. Just that it seems like sellers are working from the top down to figue out people spending limits now.

Although Manin was a little harsh it's true; it doesn't matter how much money a person has, it doesn't matter if the person has the best gear, if he sucks well then he just sucks; no amount of anything can help him there.

To make more than 5 mill fairly easily, you have to be at end game with capped classes and everything; by that time you should basically already have all that you pretty much want (disregarding lobby actions/costumes/camos) and therefore don't need to use a lot of meseta for affixing/crafting/grinding.

All the best players I know have 100m+ to spend on dress up, lobby actions, and all that, but still have 5s+ equipment and many different weapons (species hunters, rainbow tech weapons, etc).

LonelyGaruga
Dec 4, 2014, 03:14 PM
If by "power creep" you mean "replace a couple weapons every 6 months", sure.

Up until 13*s were implemented, that's how the "power creep" worked in practice. And once everyone that wants 13*s has them, they almost certainly won't need replacing for many months, and anything that does come out before then that beats them out will almost certainly do so by a very small margin.

And it's not like you're going to run out of money replacing stuff in the first place.

Possibly. It would make sense, since ol' SEGA has really been dropping the ball on a lot of these new scratch outfits and accessories the past few months (and the lack of new weapon camos may be a factor, too).

also 33 mil for the new hair? da hell? it doesnt even look that great

It shot up to 37~38 million in Ship 4 as of today.

A friend of mine was criticizing me for wanting to buy it for 29 million yesterday, and I hesitated. Now I just feel like I've missed a huge opportunity and can no longer afford it. With how large Ship 4's population is, the price may keep going higher every day.

At this point, as long as I can get it with at least a million or two to spare, I'd be happy. I'll probably stalk shops again at JP rush hour because I'm that desperate, lol.

I would actually explain part of the price increase by a general decrease in the number of people buying into scratches and thus a lower supply of goods. Also could be more stuff in general in the scratches which eats into the number of high-demand goods available for sale on the meseta market.

Doesn't help also that lately sega packs each scratch with like 20 revivals and recolors so there is even less chance to scratch the dance/hairs so the price skyrockets. That and I'm sure less people scratch since DCO are a nice income nowadays. I'm sure there are multiple reasons combined for the price increase but these seem most obvious to me.

Dances and such started to get this stupid expensive since dance 20...Last I heard Dance20 is like 58mil or so now. I kinda wanted to buy this and last scratch dances but since they are like 15m base I'm not even gonna bother. Obligatory January revival scratch when sega?

I keep saying dance 20-22 started at 4-6mil. The cheerleader dance was the start of day one 12mil+ pricetags.

There honestly needs to be a scratch with just Lobby Action revivals IMO

A "Dance Fever" scratch has always been a dream of mine.
Can you imagine, a scratch where you just have all of those dances that you missed and will probably never get because their price flew way up high or because no one is selling them ever?
And throw in Space Disco(tm) costumes with it or something because we all know we need costumes in scratches.

Rather, I'd like to see them rework the gold scratch. Does anyone even use that thing as it is? 500 AC per scratch to remove nearly all the actually valuable items from the pool? Stupid. Instead, populate the AC gold scratch with only the dances, hairstyles and new outfits (none of the revivals or recolors) from that scratch. I'm half and half on whether accessories would go in as well.

... and SEGA will make more money. I guarantee it. Don't know why the bloodsuckers haven't done it yet. I assume their scratch sales have taken a dive for most of this year.

I might even do AC scratch for the first time ever if that was the case.

Comparing to how stuff before that was like 2-3 mil range its still a lot imo. Then again I never bought any dance before 20 really unless it was like dirt cheap (under 500k) ^^; But yeah Cheerleader was indeed something like that, it's just not worth it for me anymore to buy any of the LAs since I often barely even have 10-20 mil.
