TD2 still has that problem. People are stupid. The only way to avoid this is organized runs, though even then that varies depending on who you know.

TD2 still has that problem. People are stupid. The only way to avoid this is organized runs, though even then that varies depending on who you know.
Organized runs are just too much work. we just need less zonde dashers (any type of dashing in general this ain't a TA people), less crystall thieves and people using their heads more.

We already have Dispersion Strike tho.

shunka lost it's usefulness when UQ came out because bosses move more than usual plus more dps with Sakura or kanran

at the same time, bo gameplay isn't completely dominated by dispersion strike. it has other pa's that get a lot of use, as well as the photon blades.

br when shunka came out was just people with pallets of shunka shunka shunka.

no it's all difficulties

magatsu will become a two-stage quest like DF, the first stage will be the current magatsu but you'll only be able to clear it four times

they are boosting the 10-star drops in XH and nerfing XH HP

they're also adding R-ATK resistance and ice resistance

zzz, I always love SEGA's great "fixes" because playing PSO2 well is always unfair.

That being said, just get 3 characters and do 12 runs per. Probably gonna have to be FiBo belly strats, though.

I would have been alright with nerf to drop rates, but a limit on runs is a terrible bandaid fix. There's no point figuring out strats or actually putting in the effort to get better at the game because everyone has to hold hands and walk at the same pace.

As for the nerf...well, I've been wanting them to incentivise playing in XH over SH. But, I wanted them to do that by, you know, incentivising XH, not nerfing SH.

Well, not necessarily. If XH Magatsu gets the same treatment pre-buff Magatsu got to its current state (what, triple drops? Something like that), it might be worth the 4 run nerf. Keep in mind that SH itself is not getting nerfed, the entire Magatsu EQ is being dropped to 4 runs. There'll also be the second half of the EQ to consider. With the faster XH runs + buffed drops and the second half of the EQ, depending on how profitable the second half is, the EQ might actually start giving out more cubes than before. Key is whether Magatsu is buffed enough or not, and whether the second half of the EQ will be about as profitable as the first half.

Personally I think it's too soon to be saying things like that. Waiting and seeing for now.

That assumption was based on the idea that Ultimate would swap enemy weaknesses (Natives go from fire > ice, Mechs go from lightning > wind). However, it seems the more correct assumption is that Ultimate's mobs take the element of the boss monster that they port over (Nab took on Vol's fire element and ice weakness with Diabo being ported over, Lilipa took an ice element with Snow pair being ported). Snow pair has a fire weakness, so there's a strong possibility of a fire weakness for Ultimate Lilipa mechs.

Doesn't hurt that there's multiple arguments that one can make for mechs to be weak to fire, and not nearly as many for wind.

There's a third possibility that Ultimate areas will go in order of elements, but this can coexist with taking elements from another boss, and so far it actually has (fire = Vol, ice = Snow pair). But that would fall apart by the time wind comes along, since only Wopal and Harkotan would be left (Wopal would most likely be used). It would have to take Fang pair for wind, which could work, but doesn't seem as likely as simply porting over a different planet's mob and taking that element. The only way this could work is if porting bosses is actually just coincidental, and Wopal doesn't follow that pattern, or a new planet with wind element based enemies is introduced.

Basically, wind isn't likely to be a weakness until Ultimate Amduscia. Though, if it was actually taking the weaknesses of ported bosses, then Ultimate Amduscia would be lightning, so that assumption could be wrong, and areas really are just getting themed after an element. There are still multiple patterns that could exist based on the two Ultimate areas implemented thus far, and it won't be possible to fully understand what Sega's doing until possibly Ultimate Wopal at the very latest.

And i didnt hear one element weakness sound on it, while they could of simply just disabled the weaknesses for that video or played another curveball.. kinda interesting

I was thinking the same angle. I watched it a few times, and didn't see any elemental proc effects, but the quality is too poor to be certain. I doubt they went to that kind of trouble to obscure it though. Sometimes they're clever about hiding info that can be used for speculation in their videos, but they more often let these things slip under the radar.

Sega probably didn't even program the weaknesses in yet, or indeed had them disabled. Sometimes the weaknesses shown in trailers don't match up what's in-game, the most notable being with Barbarlilipan (fire/wind weakness according to the trailer). Org Blan also had some body parts weak to a single element (either lightning or light, video quality was a little poor but it looked like light), going off the initial livestreams, but the end product is fire/ice everywhere.

At the end of the Ultimate Quest video, there's a message saying that 13* are not just Anga's. Hopefully that means everything (or at least more things) can drop 13* and not just them referring to the Challenge Quest 13*. But considering that that clip was 100% UQ, and no CQ mentioned, hopefully that means its the former.

EDIT: It looks like this was mentioned a few pages back, but you guys didn't even bother to check.

Depends on how good the non-Anga 13* actually are enough to convince an entire playerbase to consider them worth hunting.
Whatever the new 13* are, it'll make Ares look like some awkward middle ground most likely. They will probably have better potentials since the PB one isn't all that great to begin with.
Ultimate Buster weapons already have a great advantage against Ult enemies, some even beat Ares weapons at 60 ele +100 atk affix.
Ideal series will end up strongest against bosses, where you need the kind of power 13* gives anyway. However the weapon type needs to actually be good at killing bosses.

The enemy re-skins in Ultimate Tunnels looks great! Mecha Banthers especially, at first watching that Video and seeing Anga appear my excitement immediately dropped... I was thinking it's just going to become Anga farming but in a new location! but then at the end of the video it revealed 13*s don't just belong to Anga. (Hoping Mobs drop 13*s too so it doesn't become another Boss farming.)

Not sure how I feel about the look of the Ideal series weapons but at least we can re-colour the blade! With the Ideal series only having 20 ele on them I've got a feeling that they won't take that long to obtain.

Upcoming Magatsu looks cool! not surprised regular Maggie is getting nerfed to 4 runs, Looks like were getting XH AQ's? future collabs/scratches look all right.

Can't wait for Challenge mode probably looking forward to this the most, it will be interesting to see how well shared ships hold up.. will it cause more lag and stress on the servers!? just hope it doesn't cause to much problems or any at all.

Yep, was a part of the broadcast. It's account-wide too so multiple chars isn't gonna cut it.

You can do multiple Magatsu across ships though, but since everyone will be doing XH, you might have trouble doing multiple ships unless you have organised groups to do 2 sets (although 10 runs or so is only really possible right now with current ranged strategies, which are getting nerfed too, so idk).

It's Vardha Soma's Ultimate counterpart. Which, I think, just makes it more impressive, since it's radically different from Vardha Soma but still retains the basic defining traits. Ultimate Lilipa seems to be miles better than Ultimate Naberius, as far as enemy redesigns go.

Unrelated, but I think it's worth considering that the 13* thing mentioned may possibly be from an enemy that has yet to be revealed. While there is no evidence to support the existence of such an enemy, the way it's at the end of the trailer kinda looks like it's setting the scene for the next trailer. The fact that it was mentioned Anga and CQs won't be the only source of 13*s, but no clarification was provided, makes me suspect that it may be a surprise. Or it could be a total cop out like how only some jet boots supposedly would have S-ATK for a secret purpose, back before Bouncer was implemented.

and farming for new 13*'s outside locked parties would be nice (not that is a problem for me, I have the one's I wanted and getting into the mpa's before wasn't hard either) but I'm gonna guess the new Panzer Fang's are gonna drop new 13*'s and w/e the new Soma is called and any other mini boss along with 12*'s. Mob's will still have a chance at low % 12*'s but still drop 10/11*'s. Or maybe Sega decides to make a few of them area drops.

Either way, with the amount of farming I've done, I'd like to stop doing the Anga method atm, but no problem going back to it once we find out what drops what to get what I need

Possibly EQ related 13*s drop if you ask me. Either it be A.I.S. eq or some new EQ coming out in a later time.

The only Ultimate Buster 50 affixed weapons that beat Ares 60 in Ultimate are the low as heck base attack weapons like Double Sabers and Twin Daggers.

For Ares that have their attack within the 1200+ range? Nope, Ares is a clear winner.

The time limit is how long before EQ failure. Being incapacitated while in an A.I.S. results in being forced back to campship. Players can't fight Magatsu outside of the A.I.S. for this quest.

There's a damage calculator around. Do it yourself with weapons that have ancient oath or black heart.
They're either close or outright beats them
And the numbers, either hardly lower than ares or higher, barely makes a difference. It's just a lot of damage that gets the job done regardless in Ult. 13* are super powerful outside of Ult, but it seems like the only content that will matter later on would be bosses (Ideal series will handle better, this means ares rifle/wired lance/tmgs/bow/twin daggers/knuckles/dual blades will suddenly be in the "awkward middle ground" I was talking about) or challenge mode (which strips everything you have).
Crafting will bring everything else up to speed much later in the year, and by that time Ares will be old and busted. Have fun

Some ARKS quests will fail you if the EC time limit at the end expires, such as the Darchyme or Coast Flower quests. Seems like it's probably the case here.

There's a damage calculator around. Do it yourself with weapons that have ancient oath or black heart.
They're either close or outright beats them
And the numbers, either hardly lower than ares or higher, barely makes a difference. It's just a lot of damage that gets the job done regardless in Ult. 13* are super powerful outside of Ult, but it seems like the only content that will matter later on would be bosses (Ideal series will handle better, this means ares rifle/wired lance/tmgs/bow/twin daggers/knuckles/dual blades will suddenly be in the "awkward middle ground" I was talking about) or challenge mode (which strips everything you have).
Crafting will bring everything else up to speed much later in the year, and by that time Ares will be old and busted. Have fun

I already have what I needed from Ult, your also assuming that your Ult B. wep is gonna have all these extra affixes to boost that dmg as well with w/e Mark ability your going for, granted you manage something with at least power3 etc with what like 6 affixes with whatever your going for on the wep? along with having to craft whatever it is your doing with more variance (even with the fix). I mean have fun taking the welfare route, you'll be spending just as much time farming for points getting your 20% 13*'s as you would Anga (and then 60%'ing them on top)

If you could compare 1 crafted weapon right now with Ult. B and it's Are's counter part in the weapon category, I'd be more inclined to take you a bit more serious (because of course Ult B. is useless outside Ult, so don't forget all around use). Use same affixes (except Are's can't get Ult B. so use a sub for it)

Honestly, the whole situation to me seems to be playing to their "Can't let more hardcore players earn more than the casual playerbase" attitude they seem to have for everything.

Sad thing is, all these changes are going to do is hurt their income (although probably not much compared to the scratch income) since people won't buy extra storage, trees and ship transfers for Magatsu.

EDIT: I decided to read the page, and they say these things (or at least implied):

Nobody is playing XH despite extra drops (issue 1)
People are doing way more runs than the developers predicted, which is apparently causing a huge economical and game balance problem
It is an issue that people who co-operate and strategise get way more runs than the average player due to strategies. _(:3」∠)_

I hate the random EQ system anyway, so I wouldn't cry for the loss of it alone if they abandoned randomness entirely. The issue with that, and for those of us not in Japan this is kind of a serious one, is scheduled ones tend to be reasonable for the natives only. Perfectly reasonable of course, but depending on your time zone this could be a real problem! We already have that issue with scheduled now to a degree, but randomess can cover the time between it, so as much as I despise the system...

Extra stone drops you mean, surely. Solution to that: 10* and above only from XH, no 7/8/9* weapons/units, and fewer stones in the loot pool. Also less HP which they are apparently doing, probably to actually allow pubs to get 4 XH runs in the first place.

Yet they wont change it immediately, and will leave it for another 3-4 weeks before they actually 'fix' it, allowing the 'problem' to 'get out of hand even further'. The economy went to shit not all that long after the TA and daily order changes were implemented anyway.

Eh, in principle, this is BS, but really, after its introduction, like 90% of the Magatsus I've done were scheduled ones, so in practice, this doesn't really impact me. Ship 3 must be salty now though.

Didn't they say Challenge Quests would allow good players to get Ideal weapons faster though?

Anyway it doesn't sound too bad. With the buffed XH droprates and three more super Maggys to deal with in the second mission - whom I assume will drop more than regular Maggys, I wouldn't be too surprised if 100+ cubes was still possible.

I think the worst part is, if they're implementing these limitations to Magatsu it's entirely possible they could do so for other EQs if they wanted to.

I don't really mind the 4 encounter account limit since the amount of cubes you can get really is ridiculous, but I don't see why that also makes it necessary to remove Magatsu from random EQs. They should let people switch ships for Magatsu if they wanted to, but I guess they don't want that because it kills their servers?
