I've gotten a little tired of always sticking out like a sore thumb, so I've decided it's time for a change. I mean, it was fun trolling everyone by being an obnoxious eyesore, but ultimately, women are supposed to be soft and dainty, you know? So I think it's about time I stopped messing around and remodeled myself into a proper character. Thankfully, Sega's been giving us plenty of free salon passes, so fixing this years' long mistake is of no consequence to me.

I have a lot of some spare Salon Passes so I did some Tweaking on Myrviah's look.
I wanted to try a new color scheme, but I have yet to find a combination that I like; I'm trying purple/gold for now...

Now, it occurs to me that I haven't gone far enough. Like, Cherise is a newman so the guns just aren't a good fit. I'd like to get her back to her newman roots and get her into casting. I mean, it's fine to be a newman using swords and twin claws and stuff, but a casting newman is just proper canon.

I guess it's why I want to like DB bouncer so much. If only sega did a bit of a better job with the design.

So yes, dur, it was an April Fools'. (And come on, that bit about canon newmen was just trolling) Came up with the idea like three hours before midnight last night and said, "eh, okay, I've spent five dollars on dumber things." Originally, I was just going to keep the changes simple: make her shorter, use a loli face variant and call it a day. But then, my visit to the salon ran a little long, as they often do and I ended up making something I didn't actually think was that bad.

So hey, maybe I don't have to go all the way back! Maybe I can compromise between chibi Cherise and normal Cherise to create a unique fusion that represents the new heights my salon manipulation skills have ascended to!

^ ^This one's actually pretty hot. But I do think "adult Cherise" is more attractive...I usually can't stand lolis. Although that unique fusion is very....unique....I think it looks strange though with such a girly face and that chiseled body. lol.

After playing a few story missions where everyone's in combat gear, I just couldn't get the suspension of disbelief any more when I see all these outlandishly costumed people fighting evil death-beasts now, so fixed that up for myself and armoured her up. Funnily enough I've been seeing a bit of a resurgence in the armoured base costumes lately, particularly on the shared ship... maybe they're more popular outside of ship 2? She's not quite how she used to look, I have a better fitting hairstyle, eye colour and makeup to use, but I like this. The hat is big enough to stop the costume looking too pear shaped, which was the problem I used to have with this one.

Any ideas for a closer fit to the old hat though? I reckon one of those old Medical Caps comes close.

Thought my game was going to crash as I hooked Rodos; that doesn't normally happen lol.

Chvaia Tiger (the gear generation boots) is pretty cool if you switch to a more damaging pair after you max your gear gauge, although the timing is really tricky. If you switch back from your damaging boots to Chvaia Tiger too early, Vinto gets cancelled and you'll do no damage, and if you switch too late you'll end up charging a tech with the wrong boots and only gaining one gear.

Now where's 12* crafting to make these FI equippable...

Normal magatsu is so...weak compared to XH one. literately if you just break the knee and laser it with a single player, you can immediately kill the first one less than a minute of it starting.

Granted I did clear it with 0:00 left so.... (laser went off cd at 5 seconds, that's all i needed XD)

I have started to make a youtube project. Full PSO2 run (In chronologically ordered story). Includes Blue Tablets when they are relevant to the plot (and remove the unrelevant golden tablets).

Full English and Spanish Subs for youtube format. First Episode tomorrow. Time between episodes will take between 4 days to 1 week each, Estimated time of the videos would range from 15 to 40 minutes. Covering every an entire story chapter in around 3-4 episodes.

No worries I'm used to having people calling my character ugly, I no longer have the desire to have the most eye catching looking character around *shrugs smiling* Mirai and Serafi taught me alot during my time with them (cooler people outside of the game), Your character looks good but from far away its face is kinda disturbing hm maybe my lack of knowledge on facial proportions? Must be the hair nyeh anyways he looks cool as usual ;)

I mean...you're not really insulting them, though. You're not calling them ugly, you're just stating that you think Cyron and Nass [Nass is darkskinned?] are more attractive. Heck, in my opinion I like my own character Halcyon the most...but that's just how I feel. *shrugs*

I doubt it's the hair - people have always complained about the face for some reason. I can't imagine the zoom messing it up completely, as it looks worse under certain conditions (those being during low lighting and from the sides). I DID shrink his nose to prevent him looking like a goblin, and tried to at LEAST shrink him so that the body matched the head in terms of proportions (I don't want to shrink him any more than that though - I risk being just slightly taller than Io if I do that, and that would hurt my pride).

I mean, to me it doesn't look that bad. It definitely looked worse, but then again I don't have a high end graphics card (I'm using an APU and my comp is powered by a 300W power supply, so it's hardly going to be a good looker graphics-wise).

But seriously - I can't imagine that face type you got there looking good on ANYONE - though the NPC Sara wore it worse, trust me (I'd say Matoi actually wears it okay, but I'm biased towards albinos to begin with, so I refrain).

The lighting is affecting Halcyon's skintone in the first pic, making me feel as if she's actually redskinned (in the Native American sense of the word, though I'm fully aware of how offensive that word is to some Natives today).

I will say though - she looks pretty damn good. Wouldn't mind having either version in my party (masked or otherwise).

Considering that my taste is picked apart like I'm somehow in the wrong for liking/disliking something that everyone else considers the holy grail (see also: Gal Gryphon and my reaction - or lack thereof - to its return), I have to wonder if what everyone invokes is truly subjective in nature, or if they just ignore the whole "subjective" bit for the chance to get a rise out of me.

I mean, I've lost count of the amount of times people have made fun of both my name AND my face (more so the former than the latter). After a while, I get the feeling you guys just do it because it's me, and I'm never really taken seriously around here.

EDIT: Doesn't change the fact that she's one of the hottest "non-white" people I've seen, and I don't see non-whites all that often (at least in the humanoid department). Or non-whites that actually look good.

Yeah, I do have terrible social skills. Maybe my unstable mood has some influence in the things I say, but I do know that sometimes when I open my mouth I eventually feel like I'm going to regret what about to say - and I'm terrible at stopping myself before it becomes a problem.

It's why I don't mingle with the rest of the in-game population (EN or otherwise), because I really find it difficult to find the words to break the ice with total strangers. If they're on my friends list, though, I can at least get something out (there's like only one person I have per game on that though).

Also, to everyone else, I apologize about the skin-tone remark. I get why people don't like bringing up the subject, but I'm already uncomfortable bringing up looks with anyone, and it doesn't help that I can't discuss my own skin-tone preferences, even when race has zilch to do with why I brought the topic up (notice how I used "white" as a blanket term when I could've been more specific about which kind of whites I was referring to - I didn't do that, but I still ended up feeling like shit anyways).[/SPOILER-BOX]

Honestly, with all the names I've seen Nas called, I think you can take any non-constructive criticism with more than just a grain of salt. If it's any consolation, I think his body proportions are fine.

G1-Milla:
When I first made Milla, all I really new was that I wanted her to be short, and have a tall face. I later changed her colors to something similar to 3* weapons.

Me either. I'm not a follower of this new cult religion called "waifuism". I mean, sure 2D characters can be molded into the ideal woman of your dreams, but then you've got to concede that you cleared the game of Love & Life on Easy Mode. Not exactly something I'D be proud of (not to mention most of today's picks aren't even worth the effort).

Oh. Right. Trufax, I originally made Johann to mimic his PSU incarnation. Since we don't have beasts here, I figured screwing with newman ears a little would achieve the same effect. I considered using the furry ears that came with the last scratch, but eh, a little too furry for my liking. And oversized.

On a side note, speech bubbles are the bane of my picture taking. I wish the game were smarter about not obscuring your character with them. As it is, I can mess with the camera angle to keep it from being completely stupid, but there's still some compromise.

And one of these days, the waifu populace will further diminish our numbers, allowing for the crafty use of 1%-er jokes (sorry, I had to; the percentage decrease you gave me was too good an opportunity not to bring it up).

That being said, the only way you can really tell I'm a Male Newman is through my facial structure (the hair I'm using atm hides my small ears EXTREMELY well). From what I've seen, specific races use specific skintones and facial structures, so they really stand apart from each other in terms of how they might look (Newmen have more color in their skin, while Dewmen have a huge contrast between red and blue; meanwhile, the default neutral white skin on a Human will look deathly pale in specific lighting).

Wow, her looks really changed in G3 and G4. :-o
Other than that, from G1/G2/G5 you can really see the evolution of the character. I personally like G2 and G5 the best. Nice character overall though. :-D

I like G2 and G5 also, but G5 seems particularly well done. I like the complexion of G2 a lot (I AM a sucker for green eyes :heartcookie: ), but G5 seems more realistically matched as far as skin/hair/eye colors.

Almost done with Sanctum quests.

Also, over halfway through the frames drop significantly. This is due to a recording error with Nvidia Shadowplay that causes my video files to be twice as long, freezing mostly on a single frame. It makes it incredibly hard to process the video, which not only lengthens the time I need to edit, but it also causes frames to be dropped. This is as best as I can fix it. Sorry bout that. This bug only happens once in a blue moon.

What I don't get it how they make a realistic flame effect on those black and red "glinty eye" accessories, but make those ghost flames or whatever look like they're made out of jelly (like the first 'fiery eye' accessories they released).

All i can think of is for these fire, they're trying to imitiate the Ghost flames in them animes or whatever, while the fire eyes are just that. Fire eyes. Style purposes, dumb but what they want to do. I guess.

She looks good! I remember her being one of the first characters I teamed with a few years ago when I started playing. I like her new look. It seems dark-skinned beauties with silver/white hair are the new "it thing" nowadays. :-3 (They've always been a favorite of mine)

I'm banking on a mix of the two, given that I know that Enforcer at least has friends to play with (whereas I don't), and that N-VH aren't all that party-friendly outside of EQ spams (as Garuga kindly enlightened me to not that long ago).

She looks good! I remember her being one of the first characters I teamed with a few years ago when I started playing. I like her new look. It seems dark-skinned beauties with silver/white hair are the new "it thing" nowadays. :-3 (They've always been a favorite of mine)

If that is a real commercial I am more worried than ever for the future of PSO2.

I've sort of fallen into that boat as well. I don't really care about keeping up with the obnoxious arms race SEGA has turned PSO2 into (for the most part), and I also don't really have anyone to play with anymore.

Look at it this way...Phantasy Star and PSO is supposed to have a legacy kind of rivaling the likes of early RPGs like Final Fantasy. But it differentiated itself from the typical fantasy genre and made it's own lane by being sci-fi themed. I believe it was also one of the first somewhat successful ones over here in the US so seeing that it's pretty much become nothing but Bewbs, dress-up, and naked women is pretty depressing when the game has alot more to offer.

That's the way I feel at least. But hey, sex sells *shrugs*
And like Masaki Ki said, they know the demographic that plays this game.

I think you missed the point. What PSO2 is doing is nothing new, the "sexualised" content to me is nothing but cute. I get no arousal from it or anything like that. But I also don't think naked women is a depressing thing, that's never a depressing thing. Does it derail from its original purpose, no doubt, but I think everyone already knows that since the game's inception.

You can just avoid those costumes and accessories if you don't like it.

I didn't miss anything...I was just stating my opinion on how I see the direction of the game going. You're right about the sexualized content in games, especially MMORPGs...But I'm talking about the commercial that was just posted. Sure, there are other trailers/commercials that show what the game has to offer, but there is always an emphasis on the scantily-clad women and dressing up (as shown in that commercial that was posted) that Sega seems to push as a main selling point for the game. As when it was first released, they made a HUGE deal out of a boob slider. :-/

And I do avoid the costumes and accessories because I use a male character. ^^;
But you're right, naked women are never a bad thing. I just hate how it seems to be the game's focus. I wish they'd but that much emphasis on other things ya know?
I like PSO2 and just want it to be taken seriously. I've been noticing it's pretty much got a reputation of just being a "Waifu Sim" along with other not so flattering descriptions.
