Why is it so high compared to other 12* items?

It's not even the strongest rod anymore, infact far from it. The elemental rods are way better than it. Hell even the other 12* rod is better than it.

Is it expensive purely for it's legacy? The Psycho Wand has always been one of the most powerful rods in the PSO games so i'm guessing it's pure "legacy" that keeps its price high?

I would say Nostalgia Goggles too. All my friends & teammates that want a Psycho Wand are the same ones that nearly creamed their pants over PSO1 Pioneer team room.

Yeah I regret it that I didn't buy one when it was 6m =.=

But I think it has something to do with that new photon boost item, I think it adds another potential to Psycho Wand, mainly, -11% pp but +6% damage or something.

Psycho Wand is getting a "Hidden Potential" using Photon Boosters (when the 2nd Challenge Quests comes) that is similar to the potential of Yozakura weapons but better. Level 1 potential is -11% PP cost and +6% damage.
That's the main reason why it jumped in price so much recently. I considered buying a 3rd and 4th one for that potential, but didn't want to spend the majority of the money I had left. Now that's not even an option, anymore... ^_^;

Well, there's currently only 1 on the market as far as Ship 2 is concerned, so it's not that surprising.

I expect more 12* from the Falzes to jump in price with the Hidden Potential announcement.

Last I checked, Niren Orochi was about 20 million meseta. To my knowledge, there isn't any 12 star that costs more than that at the moment.

How exactly are these new abilities unlocked?

Also, for the sake of not starting another topic, does the ownership "drawback" also affect 11* units when being bought from player shops or can those be resold?

11* units can be resold, it only affects 12* weapons for now.
Also, those new ability will require the use of a new item called Photon Booster, you'll need 3 PBoost to unlock lvl1 of those hidden potentials. To get PBoost you'll need to trade Challenge Miles (they will be only available there), if i remeber well, it's 3000 CM for 1 PBoost. They're coming Late August.

Popular 12* are probably expensive because once its bought - its bound. There is no resaturating the market by reselling something, only by getting new drops.

It doesn't. Prices for Psycho Wand have settled down again due to more Profound Invasion EQs after the hidden potential hype rush. Right now, on ship 2, it's 8 mil for a vanilla ~30 Light one.

Also, imo it's better to get one from Zeig (Zieg), and then just buy another. Now you have the possibility to resale if you wanted.
