SHIP 2 - ROLE-PLAY
====================

Hello everyone! I'm new around these forums and I made a character on Ship 2 recently. I am prone to write my own stories to start an RP, but this time... I want to do something a little different...

I want to make a story WITH the community and then commence the RP in-game as our characters. If you have some ideas, definitely post them here and we can work on them together. Let's be supportive of each other's ideas and make this a super epic adventure for everyone.~

To register your character please let me know which character you would like to include into this RP. This will probably be an on-going thing, so choose your character wisely. One idea that I had was when we go offline we would go into 'hyper-sleep' of some sort that way we can continue without killing the mood. Anyways, this first thread will be edited and updated when we make ideas. Let's have fun with this!!

-PROLOGUE-

"The new frontier has already been broken. But what awaits us... is something unimaginable. Something that even the most complex organism cannot fathom. It would lead to death alone."

As the ARK program had proven successful from it's tests and careful inspection, the new era of providing the service of Photon usage was not only a benefit to Oracle, but to the universe. As the Darker presence has expanded and grown over time, so have the ARKs and their power. It is a necessary force to expand and to defend the Oracle and the inhabitants. They have been praised by their efforts and the Oracle smiles down on each member of the ARK to continue their expeditions across time and space itself. however, the non-photon users have slight fear about the power of ARK. As it is necessary to use Photon to protect civilization amongst the fleets, a sense of questioning about the Photon Sensitive ARK members have been put into notice amongst the governing body of Oracle. It has gotten to the point to where some people have been trying to push Arks to the far reaches of the galaxy to continue with their fight while staying far from their non-powered citizens. The majority refuse to send them away, but why are people suddenly becoming skeptical about them so suddenly when the entire plan to defeat the Darkers took years to formulate? Some of the Ark Members who heard of this news shrugged this off-

"Heh, they need us right? This plan is necessary to defend not only our people, but other planets suffering from the dark."

- while others questioned themselves and their worth despite the circumstance of the entire universe.

"Maybe... we are just mistakes waiting to happen. What if they are right. Are people really scared of me?"

The reactions of the higher ups weren't too worried about this situation... but instead, devised of a secondary route for those who couldn't pass the Photon Aptitude Test.

Oracle's answer to this outcry created a quick solution to their problem, even knowing the dangers of sending normal citizens into battle against the evil forces that lurk amongst the stars. The Oracle Defense Force (ODF for short). Within a few short years the ODF had formed, humans, newmans, and CASTs alike formed to act as a hive-minded defense towards attacks amongst the city, and were slowly working on plans to allow them to eventually explore planets just like their ARK counterparts. However, without being able to use Photon, grave risk is being put to stake, so Oracle chose to start a unique project known as the PAPR (Photon Anti-body Protocol Reactors). Tests amongst a selected few subjects were put into testing for a way to inject Photon molecules into the T-cells within the bloodstream to help protect humans from Darker infection and their effects to induce mental disfunction. Of course because Photon power is still a very mysterious energy that scientists and researchers are still trying to grasp , these reactors only formulate protection for a short amount of time, and due to this missions for the ODF are halted outside of city walls.

Because of this, new problems and conflict started to rise between the Council of Six and the Officers of ODF. The ODF and their officials began to try to inflict their power inside of Oracle, attempting to push the PAPR project faster. Some members of the ODF even started to grow jealous of the ARK members, despite their importance to the society. It became a common sight to see an ARK Leader and an ODF Officer get into small quarrel about importance and power due to the ODF lack of authority and power within the system.

Despite these issues within the governing body, the people on the most part were living peaceful yet productive lives within the Mother Ship and the fleets. Life was good amongst the ARK themselves... well... why don't we take a look at what they are doing now...

An adventure awaits...

We are the light to the stars.

[spoiler-box]

Name: Kuro Nakamura(中村、黒)

Appearance: Kuro has dark skin with smooth black hair. He is usually seen dressed up in uniform.

[SPOILER-BOX]http://i60.tinypic.com/15xkfir.jpg[/SPOILER-BOX]

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Age: 24

Personality: Kuro is a serious man who takes pride in the Ark's and their accomplishments. He actually has a little bitterness towards people who think exploration and missions are fun due to a haunted failure after his graduation to become a first time explorer amongst the stars. Due to this he is very careful on who he selects to go on missions with or who to send. He tends to get easily wrapped up inside of his own agenda, unable to take much advice from other people. However, deep down he has true passion to serve the people and to protect everything that the explorer colony stands for. He will stop at nothing to protect those that he cares about and will risk anything to stop harm amongst his allies. He cares deeply for his family, however there is a little resentment with his parents due to their harsh push on him becoming a high rank official in the Ark fleet.

History: Kuro was born to serve as a leader amongst the ARK force and trained from early childhood to become a high ranking official. His parents had urged him to be something great, so he passed his tests and fighting aptitude tests with great dedication and honor for his family. "To become something great takes accepting yourself." Was a quote his father used to tell him and he has gone by this code since then. Right when he graduated to his leadership position, his parents retired from their jobs so Kuro could focus on his career without caring for them. Kuro is an only child, and most of the time he spent his time away from other youth due to his parent's strict household rules. He was nothing more than his parent's dream. When he went on his first mission, Kuro had found reality was more than his knowledge could handle. During the mission, he and his three underlings embarked on a mission to search for a missing team on Naberius, only to find he had more than he could chew. With selfish action, Kuro pushed his team to keep forcing progression despite the danger ahead and led his team into severe hazardous territory. Lives were lost. Three to be exact. His team was abolished by a dark force, something powerful that Kuro had been selfish to take on himself. Kuro barely able to escape with severe wounds and in retreat, was left to watch his team mates die behind him... Currently, Kuro spends his time commanding other people to go on missions rather than himself, although at times he will step up to help protect a team. He is very cautious of who goes on missions or not. [/spoiler-box]

(Can't put an image yet. I cry.)

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Age: 17

Personality: As someone who was raised as not a person, but as a weapon, he was taught that he was not to speak unless spoken to. Because of this, he is a normally serious and silent person who instead analyzes all of his situations. He does have his soft moments where he shows an actual emotion but these occurrences are rare.

History: Toma was developed as a weapon intended to deal with most threats to humanity. Developed in a small cluster of lab ships, his embryo was injected with a serum made from Darkers. As with others that was tested like him, he reacted violently and eventually died...for three hours. Then he showed signs of life unlike the rest of the tests. From there he grew up and upon reaching the age of 7 he started his ARKS training. The Darker Serum had done nothing thus far to him besides the temporary death and short moments of weakness every once in a while. He went through the most brutal methods of training, the scientists hoping that the Darker Serum activating and causing some change within him. This lead to the stale personality that he is known for now.

Upon finishing his training at the age of 15, he was sent out on his first solo mission. A basic extermination mission in the Forest. Everything went fine until he was making his way towards the evac point when he was attacked by Falz Hunar. Without need to say, he was losing the fight. It wasn't until he was on the brink of death did the Darker Serum activate in his blood, causing a total change in his eye color to white and giving him superhuman attributes such as strength and and accelerated regeneration. He used the sudden surge of energy to escape and board his escape ship. Since then, Toma role has shifted to a member of ARKS who normally acts as a lone wolf but makes a valuable addition to a team that needs strength and tactics. [/SPOILER-BOX]

- Murakami Yurito - Zanverse [ GMT -5 ]

[Spoiler-Box]

Appearance: [SPOILER-BOX]http://i.imgur.com/UiuMlsO.png[/SPOILER-BOX]

Gender: Male

Race: Newman/Human. Yurito's father was a human, mother was a newman.

Age: 16. He is one of the youngest ARKS, along with Afin, Theodore, and others.

Personality: Yurito is a bit of a wimp. He's usually very nervous to go out on Quests unless he's absolutely required to. If not, he spends his time in the ARKS Ship, away from danger. Yurito doesn't realize his actually potential, though; for a rookie, he's a natural-born Braver with a unexplainable spiritual connection with katanas. He's also a very big fan of Zeno.

History: Yurito was born aboard the ARKS by human father and newman mother. He grew up knowing that soon he'd be fighting with the big-boys soon, which lead him to become very nervous for most of his childhood. Despite being a natural Braver, he had always been too shy to show his moves.

When he turned 16 years old and joined the ARKS, his first mission led to an unfortunate accident. While in the Naberius Forest, he got lost from his group and unknowingly wandered onto Fangulf territory. Trying to fend for himself, he ended up being attacked by a Gulf. Yurito lost his left eye, and was immediately rushed to the medical center. He's been wearing an eyepatch since. Even though he's terrified of dealing with enemies again, on the inside, Yurito wants to reach to the top of the ARKS, and maybe even become a member of the Council Of Six one day.

*Still not finished yet*[/SPOILER-BOX]

- Saker Altai - Quattrochi [ GMT -5 ]

[SPOILER-BOX]

Name: Saker Altai

Appearance: A tall, thin young man with pale skin, chin-length white hair and heterochromatic eyes, one silver and one blue. Has a long, single black horn at the top of his forehead.

[SPOILER-BOX]http://orig06.deviantart.net/d611/f/2015/228/0/a/saker_by_quattrochi-d95xwq9.png[/SPOILER-BOX]

Gender: Male

Race: Deuman

Age: 19

Personality: Generally easygoing and friendly, can be awkward, definitely has a strong silly streak and loves bad puns. He prefers relaxing and having a good time, which with his occasional impulsiveness, can lead to the impression that he doesn't take his job seriously. However, he looks up to his older sister, Yerol, and wants to become as good as her someday.

History: Saker and Yerol don't remember much of their past. From fragments of memory that he can recall, they used to both be human, but one day they apparently woke up in a lab as Deumen and were told they had requested this. They failed to track down their family and came to the conclusion that they were probably dead. Soon they were swept up into the ranks of ARKS. As far as Saker's concerned, the past probably didn't matter that much anyway.

His sister was the first to become a full ARKS member and she supported the two of them until he passed his tests. Since then, he's been caught up in focusing on his assignments and training as a Techer. The two siblings see each other much less often than they used to, with Yerol being gone for weeks at a time now. Saker is worried, but he knows that she can take care of herself. In the meantime, he'll just keep doing his best to catch up with her and become a strong member of ARKS.

Awkwardly, unlike most other deumen, her horns aren't visible and are rather tiny to the point that her hair covers them. The experiment had a minor issue which resulted in the girl's minor case of amnesia. However, she has a higher sense of hearing and photon sensitivity thus leading to her enrollment into the ARKs.

She earned her nickname, Archer, after a mission in the Naberius forest to eliminate straggling darkers after a recent large operation. Her companions complemented her stating that she ran around the forest like Robin Hood or some sort of elf from a fantasy story thus earning her nickname that everyone now calls her by.[/SPOILER-BOX]

A few weeks later she was contacted by a shady person who apparently saw her aptitude test results and asked her to be part of an experiment that could boost her photon abilities.

Thinking it was from arks she volunteered without even asking her family (who still hold a grudge against her for that). She woke up weeks later in a medical facility feeling terrible with two horns sticking from her forehead. Apparently the experiment went terribly bad, they thought she died and her body was thrown in some dark alleyway. But nonetheless she got her photon boost, so when she was discharged she sawed off those ugly horns and went to retake the test.

Currently she balances her Arks missions with a part time job on the casino, and because she's so short she usually ends dressing up as Nyau to replace him on the black nyack tables every time he runs away to cause havoc to arks. [/Spoiler-Box]

Ramiel - Netsu Nem

[SPOILER-BOX]Name: Rumiel

Appearance: Her skin has a ghostly pale tone. Though naturally blue, she now possesses heterochromic violet and crimson eyes. She prefers to have her black hair tied in twin tails but now keeps them down and longer in memory of her older sister.

Gender: Female

Race: Dewman. Formally Human.

Age: 17

Personality: Sweet, bubbly, and upbeat, or at least how she used to be when she was Human. As a Dewman, she became very melancholic and timid. Nowadays, she is very slow in trusting others. The disappearance of her older siblings and friends has left her extremely lonely. Despite all this, she still maintains an innocent outlook on life. Beaches and oceans are very comforting to her as the Natha only had artificial waterways However, she is sometimes prone to sudden moodswings and can turn maliciously violent. A precursor to such an event is signified by her feeling a burning sensation in her chest and both her eyes turning crimson.

History: The youngest of three siblings, Rumiel was an average student who had no photon sensitivity whatsoever. One day, her photon sensitive brother had returned on shoreleave to their home ship, the Natha. A heartful reunion had turned sour when a massive Darker force launched an offensive on the ship. Her brother fought valiantly to protect his two younger sisters as he strived to evacuate them. The Natha's reactor core became critical during the battle, forcing all civillians and combat personnel to evacuate as life support systems slowly shutdown. As a fleet of shuttles burst out of the Natha, they were haplessly shot down by the ship's corrupted point defense cannons. Those that weren't lucky enough to be shot down were instead warped to destinations unknown by Darker Funji. As the ship exploded, the Natha was declared lost with all hands. Rumiel and her siblings found themselves in the heart of a Darker hive. Prolonged exposure to intense Darker particles began to sapply their stength and slowly alater their bodies. Rumiel was the first to succumb to effects, leaving her in a comatose state for five years. Rumiel awoke slone with memories of her sister at her bedside and a strange Newman man clad in white whispering to her. Among those memories were combat techniques implanted into her mind. Currently, Rumiel is striving to discover the truth behind her family's fate.

Byul - IronKrone - [ GMT +9 ]

[SPOILER-BOX]Name: Byul

Appearance: [SPOILER-BOX]http://www.pso-world.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2971&pictureid=41612
[/SPOILER-BOX]
Gender: Female

Race: Human

Age: 23

Personality: While she's pretty serious while she's on quests/missions, Byul is a cheery girl with optimistic view. She's not too talkative around people she's unfamiliar with but can be rather chatty with her friends. She likes to daydream, especially if she deems that the current conversation is boring or not important enough, which can lead to some people getting frustrated with her. Also, when she gets pissed, she has a tendency to threaten people with the idea of whacking them with her wand while smiling forcefully.

History: Byul was born in a pretty typical, happy family. Neither of her parents were Arks members, due to the fact that they didn't have photon ability. Her father was one of the senior officer of the Oracle Defense Force, but luckily, he was one of those who didn't see Arks as a potential problem and Byul grew up largely oblivious to the growing tension between ODF and Arks. But that began to change a couple of years ago, when the the conflicts between the two group worsen; her father was accused of the other ODF officials of embracing and being too lenient on Arks--especially since his only daughter was an Arks member as well--which eventually resulted in Byul's father leaving the ODF. Though her father voluntarily quit the job, Byul always felt guilty. Maybe her father wouldn't have been accused of such ridiculous idea and fell victim to the two party's conflicts if his daughter hasn't been an Arks.

After that incident, Byul had been contemplating for some time about quitting Arks and finding another job in hope of her father possibly getting another chance at ODF position that he worked so long and hard for. It felt like a typical day of doing a typical quest when Byul saw a young Newman being attacked by a pack of Gulfs. She rushed over to help him and though he lost one eye, Byul managed to drag him back to the medical center in time to save him.

That boy was Yurito. His father thanked her and insisted her to become Yurito's mentor. She refused at first, but due to the continuous request, she eventually accepted and started looking over the younger male.

Her thoughts slowly changed as she tried to help Yurito and she eventually decided to continue as an Arks member. She had someone to watch over now and... maybe by staying around, she can gather information and help to close the widening gap between the Arks and the Oracle. Afterall, the Oracle's main interest was to protect all its citizens, including the Arks... right?

Nikolai - Digital-Force - [ GMT -4 ]

[spoiler-box]
Name: Nikolai, but goes by Theo if close

Appearance:
[spoiler-box]
http://i57.tinypic.com/119a0yt.png
[/spoiler-box]

Gender: Male

Race: Deuman, formally Newman

Age: 16

Personality: Outwardly, he's hesitant and easily overwhelmed, but masks this by coming off as a person of few words despite his childlike demeanor. When it comes to work, he's normally dutiful when necessary and tries to the best of his ability. Yet lately, if he's out on the field for too long . . .

History: At first, his acceptance into the ARKS officer ranks was one of the happiest days of his life; he saw it as a way to finally start giving back to the very protectors he looked up to, and work on some of his more hindering qualities. However, over time since then, he couldn't help but overhear tensions rising between ARKS and ODF. He didn't mind the latter organization in the slightest, thinking it nice that something was made for people that weren't as photon sensitive. Still, being part of the body that caused the outcry for it in the first place began to have him question where he should really stand if at all. Hence, he gradually switched his mission trend to more desolate locales, not seeming to mind that said missions had him away for longer periods at a time. After all, the time away could help sort his thoughts...or so he figured.

As a change of pace when around and about the ARKS ship, he's a part-timer at the Medical Center for what it's worth; if he's not at his quarters or on the field, it's most likely the first public place he'll be around.

Ogeraun - Dycize - [ GMT +1 ]

[spoiler-box]Name : オゲラウン (Ogeraun)
Player ID : タルニク
Timezone : GMT+1

Appearance : Picture (http://i.imgur.com/8ePu0Tf.png)
Ogeraun is a female looking cast with blonde hair, of overall medium height. Her skin is on the fair side, and she has green eyes. Her facial expression never changes, no matter what. She tends to change her wardrobe with a certain frequency.

Gender : Female (supposedly)

Race : Cast (fully robotic)

Age : 5

Personality : Ogeraun is, at 1st glance, taciturn. She doesn't speak much and that is with the bare minimum of emotions to convey what she means (and oftentimes even less than that). Takes her responsabilities very seriously and is a bit of a workaholic. Likes to tell straight-faced lies in casual conversation and can have some suprising silly streaks.

History : Ogeraun is a fully robotic cast from a "family" of such casts. Currently the only one in active duty, she is a young powerhouse, ranking amongst some of ARKS' finest. Trained in all ARKS arts, from sword smashing to tech casting, she tends to boast impressive defensive abilities. She also works as a sub for instructors, should one be too busy, but she mostly perform field tests in those cases. Her personal history is rather uneventful, not that she talks much about it, which can sometimes feel a bit... Off. But what doesn't with her personality.[/spoiler-box]

This sounds like something I'm definitely interested in doing.

I have a question though; when you say that you want to make a story/background setting for this RP, are you saying that it connects to pso2 story? If so, how closely would it tie in?

I ask this because I'm that kind of person who likes playing as NPC(s) and will mostly likely to join as an npc player. ^^;

Well I was thinking we could take a couple of approaches to this...

1) The first approach would be to create a story unique to the PSO2 universe, but with our own twist. The races and planets would be the same, but the actual plot itself will be completely different since our characters would be heavily involved in the plot rather than the NPCs themselves. Heck, if we even wanted we could reuse some of the current zones as new planets if we so desire.

2) Second approach would be to pertain to the actual story itself with our characters. Personally I would find this kind of hard to do since the plot of PSO2 is extremely hard to follow due to the Matter Board system and everything doesn't add up too well yet.

3) Pretty farfetched but... We could try to do something completely different. Example: Maybe make some sort of Sword Art Online or .Hack kind of RP where we are playing an MMO but it's a life/death situation of some sort, of course this is just an option I thought about, but was never really on the forefront. But if you find this idea cooler than we could go more towards this route where we can just make it completely different.

OVERALL though, I personally lean towards option one ( which sort of answers your question... hopefully )

Oh, I like the first one as well!

The second idea can be, as you've said, a little hard to pull off. It might be better if the story is complete but we probably still have months to go before that's happen. And it's not like everyone can be MC and time travel back and forth. Too complicated.

The third option is interesting but it would take a lot of brainstorming and such to settle on the basic concept and background. And there's always going to be details to fine-tune...

Okay, so we'll go for the first option, if other people agree as well. (Where are they anyways? Is anyone even paying attention to this thread? :-?)

And just to make sure, you're saying that no, rping as an npc wouldn't really mean much for approach 1, right?

As someone who's been involved in the lil' RP community that was going on, I offer you my support.
The plot's pretty easy to follow if you mostly take into account the fleet-wide elements (elder's attack, the ship switch, Luther being a huge dick and booted out after falzing out...) without delving into them too much.
If you decide to go with 1/2, don't hesitate to ask me stuff if you feel like it, I've personally got some experience in writing stuff in the PSO2-verse.

RP is a pretty broad term.
A man pretending to be a girl in an MMO is technically RPing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
If you act as your character then it's RP, generally. So is your character yourself, or is yourself the character (https://youtu.be/cGl93deEBfk).

Character is me.
Always aim to make myself in any game that has a creator (I blame PSO for this as I think it was the 1st game I ever did this with).

Good lord this one is a train wreck wairing to happen and I agree it not only doesn't add up, its a huge clusterfuck of a mess, and the story could change at any given patch thus messing things up.

It would be hard to stay in the background as an NPC really. However, I'm a little confused by the term NPC because in my head that just sounds like someone who usually interacts but stays in the background of most things...

And lol ok I guess we are going with the first option!

Ok... so I guess the next step would be to start working on the plot. Any thoughts on this? Just to be clear too, once we have the main overall plot figured out, we can still build into the plot with our characters, new ideas, etc. We just need a good solid start.

This would be probably the most stable option. It also works better because we create an AU of PSO2. Trying to play in the PSO2 universe would be odd, because in the story one of the major antagonists is actually you from the future. On top of that, the story is told as if you are the only actual player in the game. So it would be strange if people like Zeno and the like were friends with all of us.

I like this idea, making an original story with similar characters.

2) Second approach would be to pertain to the actual story itself with our characters. Personally I would find this kind of hard to do since the plot of PSO2 is extremely hard to follow due to the Matter Board system and everything doesn't add up too well yet.

Some events work well, others don't because of plot. Although I haven't played too much into the story because I'm afraid of missing things due to the lack of translation.

I've already been brainstorming something like this, only except that it was a self-insert of myself and how I came to terms with being in the PSO2 universe AKA shitting my pants silly at the sight of a photorealistic Dagan tearing a rookie ARKS to pieces.

In that regard I've already written some fanlore for the game. None of it is really all that vital to the story, but it would help to explain some of the mechanics that you see in the game and reconcile them in a logical sense.

Meseta:
Meseta is a block of raw material used extensively by the ARKS fleet. Through the process of matter-structuring, meseta can be reshaped into any object, be it toys, machine parts, or even soil for agriculture. Due to this it is a very vital resource of the fleet, and is utilized as currency. One no longer needs to buy premade objects, but can simply insert a specific amount of meseta into a fabricator to produce the desired product.

The discovery of meseta was revolutionary, as fleets no longer needed to stockpile specific types of materials for construction and fabrication. This lead to a massive increase in production efficiency, notably in the widespread creation and use of photon weapons to combat the threat of the Darkers which were widespread throughout the galaxy. Previously, such weapons required materials that were difficult to synthesize normally. With the introduction of meseta-based fabrication however, even Rookie ARKS members can now disembark on missions equipped with the latest photon weapon technology.

Meseta is created from the reaction of matter and photon energy. It is for this reason that meseta can often be found on the corpses of Darkers and other creatures defeated by photon-based weaponry. Non-organic matter can also be used to generate meseta. However most photon weapons are not designed to output such high amounts of energy, and a drill or photon processor is needed.

MAG:
Mechanized Autonomous Guardian. Mags are the robotic partners of the ARKS, providing them with a multitude of support features such as topography scans, enemy information, and item storage. Specialized Mags are even able to assist in combat. Although they lack the True AI capabilities unique of the Cast race, they are still extremely intelligent and maintain constant awareness in the face of work, danger, and even rest. Mags are used not only by ARKS members, but also by civilians and the colonial military forces in day to day tasks.

However the most remarkable feature of a Mag, is its ability to maintain the vital signs of its owner in dire situations. Since the introduction of Mags into the ARKS military operations and expeditions, the casualty rate has decreased by 55%. All Mags now come equipped with on-board medical systems to stabilize the vitals of their owners should they suffer from any fatal injuries. While it is not enough to replace the usage of Moon-class Atomizers, the lives of many ARKS have been saved due to the few seconds bought by the Mag to allow them to be safely extracted by their comrades.

It's like rping a canon/official character in other fandoms (movie, anime, comics, book, etc), but I call it npc because this is a game.
So if I say I want to rp as Afin, I would make a character who looks like Afin, name him Afin and have him interact with your characters while reacting to whatever story we'll be going with.

I really like the background bits you gave it to meseta and mags. It's always nice to see how people change the in-game elements to fit with RPs.

MAGs were actually made in the Void Laboratories (as mentionned by Patty & Tia in an event tablet). Something about research with darkers (ie : Photon Blasts, but don't quote me on this very specific part).
Casts aren't just robots, they're also cyborgs (at least 1 fairly popular caseal is strongly hinted to have been human, as are some other story NPCs).
I don't know about that meseta explanation tho. Matter you can turn into pretty much anything? And we thought photons were already the answer to all of life's problems!... Sounds like it can do a tad too much, imo.

Also personally I've always theorised that "HP" is really a photonic barrier protecting our bodies and when we drop to 0 we actually get knocked out by the hit due to the barrier no longer protecting us (and since melee classes use photon to reinforce their bodies (real stuff), it explains why they have higher HP, than tech classes who focus on shaping photons).
Not like anyone ever listened to me on that one, but eh.

It's...
Actually a sort of "well they aren't saying it..." thing.
Until the story came around and decided to tell us a bit about races we had no idea what casts were. Maybe robots, maybe cyborgs, maybe lilipas piloting robot suits...
In fact, my RP experience has shown that most people consider them robots, heh (and I won't hide it : I also made my character will "full bot" in mind). Plus, casts have pretty much always been robots in past games.
So personally I just go with "there's both until Sega clearly says otherwise".
And yes, other races also come from void labs. Humans themselves aren't exactly normal anyway (ever since photon and ARKS became a thing...).

Quoting that part because end of page post and the most relevant to the discussion at hand!
We had to wait, what, episode 2? For a clarification. So pretty much a whole year in the dark (starting from the official launch) on race matters aside from the character creation tidbits. And depending on your interpretation, even longer until story got translated (and didn't cause various amounts of bugs).

Oh um... Depends on what NPC you choose. It would be strange for you to play as, in your example, Afin when he's near the entrance to the Camp Ship gate. I don't think that should really be allowed, especially if they are characters that really don't have a purpose in the PSO2 world. Like, if I were to play as Naruto, it would just be an incredibly strange thing to have in a story solely revolving around the Phantasy Star universe. For this role-play I would say no, unless it is incredibly important to have a certain character within the story. I think if we make a more developed plot where we need a specific character, then I will say yes and allow for this action to happen. But for now, bank on an original character.

Interesting. I didn't know that. A lot of the text is still in Japanese... so as far as lore-hunting goes I'm stuck... :(

You can turn it into almost anything, but not everything. Some weapons would require rare materials like spellstones and pyroxene's to craft. It would make sense, since those weapons would have fairly potent potentials compared to the more mass-produced weapons made with simpler blueprints.

I've always thought the same thing too. It would make sense considering the fact that you take chip damage when you block with your weapon, in addition to the Hunter class that has the ability to project a 360-degree barrier to protect themselves.

For me, CASTs are just purely androids with self awareness. Both Casts and Newmans from my understanding were experiments that humans made to advance civilization, but I could be wrong since I'm new to the franchise.

For plot by the way, I was thinking that maybe there could be some sort of rebellion within the ARKs themselves. Like maybe a group of people think that exploration is a good thing, where as other ARK members have a conspiracy about the efforts of their fleet. Not sure if that would be an idea to expand on.

Are we still fighting Darkers? As I recall the main plot point of PSO2 is that many of the ARKS are exploring distant worlds in order to combat the Darkers. Many of the indigenous species are indeed very hostile and territorial, but the Darker influence often causes the wildlife in large areas of the planets to go out of control. I believe some of the ARKS quests have you go into an area on a planet due to Darker infection driving the natives insane. Notably on planet Amadusca with the Dragonkin, and Naberius, which used to be a training ground for ARKS but is now quarantined in many areas due to Darker outbreaks.

It would seem out of character for ARKS to rebel and fight amongst each other, especially when the organization was created to combat the Darkers that are spreading throughout the galaxy. But that's just what I've gotten from the story so far. The origins of ARKS have yet to be revealed.

I always saw the ARKS as the special forces unit of the colony fleets. Alfin's sister states that in order to become a member of ARKS you have to have photon sensitivity. It is noted by her that there are indeed people without photon sensitivity who are unable to become a member of ARKS, so I'm guessing that the colony ships also make use of a general army that handles more of the heavy lifting, whereas ARKS are only called in when the situation is extremely dire (Magatsu attacks; Dark Falz; Mining Base Defense; etc.) or for scouting operations (exploring new regions of planets via ARKS Quests in-game).

Depends I guess... my first option that most people agreed to was this one:

"The first approach would be to create a story unique to the PSO2 universe, but with our own twist. The races and planets would be the same, but the actual plot itself will be completely different since our characters would be heavily involved in the plot rather than the NPCs themselves. Heck, if we even wanted we could reuse some of the current zones as new planets if we so desire."

To me, the actual plot so far doesn't make too much sense to most people yet. Yes the Ark fleet was created to combat the Darkers in the game's story, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions. But overall I would think that the Darkers would be a vital reason for the Ark to set out on it's embark. but what I meant by the opposition thing was a group of people that question whether to go out or not.

Maybe these group of people think that the darkers are actually a natural way of evolution like the rest of the universe... or maybe they are actually darkers created to disguise themselves in Ark to destroy them from the inside intellectually. Maybe the Ark plan has already been set into motion, but a selected few wish to not disturb the natural occurrence. Of course, that doesn't have to be the plot, it was just something I thought about. Sorry if that sounds confusing btw xD

But, if we build this RP in a little more original format, I think we can use what's already in the game and create something new and fresh while not venturing too far out of the PSO2 universe.

Yes, definitely. We are currently brainstorming ideas, so you're more than welcome to hop in. Like mentioned before, I'm new to PSO2 and the story, so if you have any other ideas based on your knowledge, please don't be shy! ^_^

We are currently trying to make an original plot line that doesn't follow the exact story of the current plot, but is based around the PSO2 world. It's a little tough for me to come up with ideas though.

I wanted to add onto your inter-conflict idea, since the character I wanted to make for the RP would actually tie into the conflict.

In the setting, ARKS are only recruited from individuals who have photon sensitivity. Those who do not have it are barred from entering the ARKS unit aside from unique circumstances like Casts who generally do not have photon sensitivity. At least in PSO. In PSO2 it seems like they can actually use photon arts, which probably is evidence to the fact that many of them may have been organic at some point--or that Oracle has developed some kind of method for non-sensitives to utilize photons to an extent.

Ramblings aside, you have the Oracle military divided into two distinct units. The ARKS, who combat the darkers and conduct special operations, and then the Oracle general military or ODF (Oracle Defense Force). Oracle is the name of the fleet of ships that traverses the galaxy.

The ODF consists of men and women who do not have photon sensitivity, but form a large part of the Oracle military force. In contrast, the ARKS are smaller in number, but make up for it in their ability to utilize photons. In a sense they are superhuman soldiers that supplement the more squishy ODF on expeditions and other operations where they are required.

We could possibly make a subplot about how there is growing concern over the ARKS members, as these individuals often possess specialized licenses giving them unparalleled freedom. However the most pressing concern is in allowing such powerful individuals to simply roam about without surveillance. In turn that could be the catalyst for a lot of inner turmoil within the Oracle fleet.

For example, veteran ARKS can break out of time freeze magic through brute force due to their mastery over photons. Such power would definitely leave the higher ups more than a little unsettled once the reports come in.

Anyways... those are just some ideas I'm throwing out there...

Alright, I'll go for an original character and post the character information when I get around to it, since I have to start from the scratch.

Also, I think it might be a good idea to have people state which timezone they're in so we can kind of have an idea when people will be on and such?
I live in Korea so I'm in JST.

This idea of yours, added onto Dai-RPG's, is really interesting. It doesn't veer too far from the actual PSO2 plot, just add depth on what easily could be going on under the surface.

I'm not too good with ideas myself, but I think one of the possible option is to do something similar to Nova. Due to these inner-conflict, some of the higher ups decide to take action against the veteran/powerful Arks members, picking out the potentially "troublesome" ones and sending them off elsewhere under the excuse of exploring a faraway planet that's unreachable by normal space warp method. Then there is some "technical" troubles that cause the ship to lose contact with the Oracle and such. Eventually, our characters could find their ways back and put things right?

(I don't know anything about PS Nova though; just borrowing the very general story concept of it.)

That idea sounds pretty cool in all honesty. I think that could be like a certain group of people depending on what characters we make and such. My character is specifically trying to stay on the Ship and not venture much due to his history, but depending on how we build this story.

Also I'm in America and I'm in CST, but I usually play this game in the late evening into early morning... it might get a little hard to connect with you though, so hopefully we can plan a decent time where it's morning for you, night for me!

Hm, I like this idea actually. It gives a sense of priority within Oracle itself and worry about whether or not ARK is too powerful to be under watch by Oracle. It kind of gives Oracle a little bit of control issue of physiological Megalomania (basically delusional fantasies of power, relevance, omnipotence, and by inflated self-esteem) from fear. But that's kind of making Oracle look dark and such. I could also foresee the ODF being a little upset about ARK since they are doing things that aren't as intense as their photon-powered counterparts.

I'm not sure how much you played the story quest, but it's pretty similar to what's going on in ep 1 and 2. In fact, I think we can tie our plot idea loosely to the actual story (which could be happening in the background) and get away with it without any problem. That would certainly make explaining some EQs and such easier. Or we can tie some elements in while changing the others. That would require some discussion though.

But of course, those are just some of the options.

The fun part tho, is that the climax of Episode 2 is essentially everyone going "okay we are SO DONE WITH THAT (and particularly with you, Luther)".
Did you know? Luther is essentially the reason for all of Oracle/ARKS' wrong doings =p
The code ABYSS incident was [main character] getting framed ("oh look at all the illegal things [main character] was doing! nevermind why he was doing it") while Luther went and did his thing (something something omniscience).

The Delta Variant crew in PSNova is a bunch of normal people tho (I haven't finished the game yet personally, but aside from one member, they're pretty normal anime people).

A mission actually going wrong with the characters stranded somewhere sounds just as fun, no?
Maybe I'm just biased because it seems to me many people really like casting ARKS/Oracle in a villainous-ish role, heh.
On a side note, one of the very 1st storylines that came about when PSO2 was new in the RP community at the time involved a splinter faction of ARKS who essentially wanted to make photon nukes and acted like terrorists. Ah, the memories (oh hey there Totori found your sister yet?).

*cough*
Anyway. Try figuring a time out (if not a day, at least an hour), PSO2 tends to have people from all over the world (european myself here).

A long time ago, I had an idea for a PSO2 FanFiction that pretty much never happened. It pretty much involves eight ARKS members, two teams of four, that are sent on a mission to Lillipa to investigate the Mining Bases. On their way there, a sandstorm hits both Campships that carried the ARKS members. They end up crash-landing in the Desert area. From there on, the eight ARKS must find their way on foot to the Mining Bases.

They travel through the Desert, into the Tunnels, where they discover an dusty, old-modeled Cast that used to be an ARKS Ecological Surveyor. He ended up stranded on Lillipa, but managed to make friends with the Mechs and Lillipans before they went out of control. Turns out that the Cast had created Big Vardha as a companion, vehicle, defensive unit AND leader of the Mechs before they lost control. The ARKS members take down Big Vardha, requested by the veteran Cast, for the sake of terminating Vardha's infected systems.

After exiting the Tunnels from the Vardha fight (In the boss area, there is a huge open area that leads to the desert again, so we could make use of that!), the team find themselves in the Quarry, which happens to be just outside of the Mining Base. Before they even reach the base, though, Blu Ringahda appears, protecting the entrance. (a.k.a., the boss area). They kill Blu Ringahda, and move on.

Now this leads into just figuring out when each Tower Defense EQ is, to move on with the story.

But this is just idea, and could be use as like, a chapter within the whole thing. I also have a Shironia-based chapter that I'm working on. Should be done by tomorrow, if you guys want to hear.

But that's kind of making Oracle look dark and such. I could also foresee the ODF being a little upset about ARK since they are doing things that aren't as intense as their photon-powered counterparts.

I don't want to make Oracle too dark, but I want there to be some kind of political turmoil in the colony that most people don't yet know about or that they are aware of but do not yet fully grasp.

There are some people who appreciate the ARKS. I thought as a plot point that the ARKS would have been vital to major points in Oracle history, notably the development of photon-sensitives to combat Darkers and fighting for the independence of the Casts. The idea here is that, to much of the populace, these events are seen as extremely positive ones. The government would try to play it up as the birth of heroes to fight the darker threat for the former, and the addition of new species to aid in exploration for the latter. The truth however is very different.

The concern of ARKS's growing power is real. After all they are a closely-knit group of superhumans who are sometimes more loyal to one another than they are to Oracle. This is due partly in the amount of freedom they are given with their Darker Hunter licenses and the often suicidal missions that they take which solidifies their bonds with one another. In addition, the organization would have very strong ties with the Cast race, due to having helped them to gain their independence as sentient race fit to stand alongside the other 3 races, humans, neumans, and deumans. This is almost 25% of the population that would almost completely side with ARKS due to their history should they decide to make any political moves. The organization is also canonically headed by the Council of Six, who are the most powerful ARKS members in all of Oracle.

So with this it sets up the story for setting that, while seemingly paradise on the surface is resting on a delicate balance. Should ARKS choose to conduct a coup, there would be almost nothing that the ODF could do to stop them. Forces can turn invisible and walk right into the center of formations before nuking them with powerful techniques. Photon-sensitive Rangers can summon orbital cannons out of nowhere. And hunters can walk through swarms of bullets unfazed because they harden their photon barrier into an unbreakable wall while they cleave through opponents with ease.

Of course, most ARKS don't think about this too much. As they are generally having fun exploring new planets and fighting the spread of the Darkers. However, for the higher ups in both sides it is a very real concern. It seems your character was raised to be one of the leaders of the ARKS, so that is something he's going to be exposed to very very quickly by the Council of Six and his senior officers.

I'm not too familiar with PS Nova. PSO2 is the only game I've really played in the Phantasy Star setting aside from PSO which I only played a little with my friends in college. :(

By the way, someone translated the timeline of PSO2. So it might be worth posting here for reference.

Again quick and lazy, but mostly correct. Maybe.

238 - current year
235 - huey becomes 6th in council
230 - casra name gets passed down
228 - second clarisa dies in battle with apprentice
227 - Atosa(?), Volf(?) (names) die
226 - clarisa claes name passed down
225 - relations with draginkin get worse
220 - first casra dies
210 - second generation arks. push back darkers for few years
207 - first clarisa claes dies
198 - council of six members:
1) regias 2) maria 3) casra 4)Atosa 5) Clarisa 6) Volf
198 - Deciding battle with Dark Falz (three heros)
190 - regias, maria, clarisa, casra become famous for battles on several planets
170 - something about battle with darkers
140 - dragnkin language translated
90 - planet lilipa and amduskia discovered
40 - naberius discovered

So the current known Council of Six members are

1. Regias
2. Maria
3. Casra II
4. Clarisa Claes III
5. [UNKNOWN]
6. Huey

I believe Io is the 5th council member. I think the story hinted at her being one of the Council of Six. We could write about how Regias, getting on in his years, is trying to pass his seat onto Kuro. But it is a big responsibility and Kuro at the moment is not yet ready.

Dead Members

1. Atosa
2. Volf
3. Casra
4. Clarisa Claes I and II

You should probably do your matterboards and story quests. The replacement of the 5th Council member is introduced around the end of Episode 2.

And it's someone you've known since Episode 1.

(And technically, they're 7 members, despite being called the Council of Six. I mean, you get to know the 0th [Yes, number 0] in Episode 1.)

Also, I couldn't help but laugh at how you think Io is relevant at all. She's never showed up in the story. She's had 0 relevance since the moment she was implemented. And she calls you, the player character, senpai, for crying out loud, SENPAI. That alone places her in a spot where she's below you.

And, Claes II isn't dead. You should really play the story. =x

You should probably read what we have decided to do for the RP. We aren't working heavily towards the story because there are honestly a lot of plot holes in the main story. The matter board in all honesty is very jumpy and can get a little confusing where you jump around the timelines which can be a little much when trying to make out the events in a timeline. Also we are trying to create something original, even if it means changing the actual story a bit and tweaking it. And sorry, but I kind of don't appreciate how you would laugh at someone not knowing a part of the plot. Like honestly, not everyone plays the game for the Matter Board intently, it can be skipped because certain items can be obtained without using it.

Also, I'm really enjoying all of your ideas everyone. Good job! I think we have a lot to start working on a mixture of your ideas. On the first post I placed an "Event" space so that if anyone comes up with new ideas or small events that can be done during the RP, we can update it as we progress.

Zanverse: I want to read your fan fiction, it might spark some new ideas if you wish to share them!

Kokurokoki: Yeah, making them too dark would be much lol. But yeah, that's definitely something to consider when power is being questioned.

Dycize: Yeah, the stranded part I was really down for myself. I think it would be a nice way to open up the plotline and start building from that point in terms of events like I mentioned before.

So, you're saying that you'd throw out any pieces of lore that the story throws you for the sake of establishing your own? Yeah, that sounds like a -great- idea.

Nothing like having an established lore and not use it because it doesn't fit the way you want to use it.

I just couldn't let that fly unnoticed. Some things do need to be taken into account, otherwise it just sounds silly.

And I'm not saying to follow the main story down to the smallest detail, but to take note of what changes surrounding it. Having a Council member replaced is quite an important event, and, in my eyes, having a literal rookie (Io) replacing that member is just.. really off-putting, ya know?

(After all, said person that replaced the 5th complained about what they were put through to get there.)

But, well, that's my 2 cents.

Very well.

However, a lot of adaptions in other series have their plot points twisted in other forms of media. Like a game's plot might be tweaked if it were created into a film, television series, or comic book. Regardless, I'm not saying that we should change much, but I really don't find the Council to remain the same to be crucial and necessary part of our plot.

One easy example that I can think of off the top of my head is Pokemon. I have read the Pokemon Special manga and they are, in my opinion, one of the best written comic books that I've known. They stay incredibly close to the games, but they make the story so thrilling and so much more exciting in terms of plot. And even some of the characters in the series turn out to be villains when in the games they are just powerful characters. Heck, it even changed their character a little bit.

There are plenty of other examples of this, so I don't see how it's so foolish to create something a little different while keeping the mechanics and key components the same. Character roles don't always have to stay static in a role-play because the story should be the interactive and engaging part that changes the dynamics of roles, personalities, relationships, etc. Sorry if I seem like I'm harping but you really are calling the 'creative' process out like it shouldn't even be used at all.

And if you're saying that we are throwing out lore for the sake of the story, in a way, you are somewhat correct. However, despite tweaking a few things, the characters aren't going anywhere, we are just tweaking the story a bit to fit the needs and to create something more fresh and new while keeping most of what's already there. I will repeat this once more, we all chose this option that I had listed for everyone to choose from:

OVERALL though, I personally lean towards option one ( which sort of answers your question... hopefully )

I appreciate your concern, but at the same time if you truly want to be beneficial to building the plot, spout out some ideas. And if this isn't something you truly want to do, then it's your choice. We already decided what we wanted to try to do beforehand.

Hi Dai just wanted to wish you and your crew good luck, taking a liking how you guys are going with a totally original idea and working together as a group making tweeks here and there to make it more personalised also the character template looks and sounds really accessible and what not :D Embrace freedom and originality as I agree with you on the "Official Story" being vague and filled with many holes despite what other people have said.

As for you Massaki I can't let you hassling these people go unnoticed for what they want to do. Sure what they have might sound silly but this is THEIR STORY not yours and Dai gave you the okay to help them but if not then have the decency to smile and respect their ideas.

Dai, no need to apologize you weren't harping at Massaki, just standing up for your idea and backing them up.

As usual, your ability to jump to conclusions is astounding. If I were truly hassling them about things I'd be pinpoint their ideas and throwing them off cliffs. Did I do that? No, I simply pointed out some things in the established lore by game. If they want to adapt it to a way that they want to do then it's more fine. I respect that.

It's just unfortunate that you don't know how to see the difference between making a hassle and pointing out something.

Fortunately, Dai-RPG's a much more understanding person. And with that, I hope you the best of luck to what you hope to achieve. As with Dycize, I'm more than open to share my knowledge on PSO2's lore and the other PS games if needed for anything.

I'm not a fan on the military thing, it collides quite a lot with the main storyline and known lore. I can see it more fitting with pso1/psu (specially pso1) than pso2. + i can't see how you plan to execute it ingame.

I know, we went with approach 1. but we can make a spinoff without dealing with stuff that could easily collide with the main story. Just as an example, we get a mission to explore a distress call in Quarry. Get attacked by a blu ringada who causes a sandstorm with his rather annoying tornados, that makes us flee to the tunnels where we discover some misterious darker facility that creates dudu clones who are poisoning arks minds by injecting darker photons on the weapons when they improve them.

Hmmm, I think we should definitely try to make events like this. I still think that an overall story is needed. Do you have any ideas beside the Military conflict? I thought it was interesting only because we aren't super involved with anyone besides the ARK members and a few others. But if you have another idea, let us here it! ^^

Don't expect some awesome piece but here are a few ideas. but first why i can't see fitting a military coup.

- Inside ships Arks can't use photons, so they only need to shoot them all when they're in a ship.
- They need them (What if dark falz elder comes back in a 'i wanna fite! mood'?, they have ais and gunships but that doesn't seem to be enough, also if i recall they darkers need to be killed by arks or else they can get infected or some stuff).
- Apparently Xion and later on Xiao do some mambo jumbo that keeps the ships running fine.
- I think its all one entity. The military and arks. Operators, guys with gunships etc. Also one main character got into arks and didn't had photon affinity.
[/spoiler-box]

Ideas: There is people with photon affinity outside arks, that have been wandering the planets, like Sara.

Also there's void labs: Those guys were/are shady as hell (not sure what happens with them after ep2 ending i don't think they have mentioned them since ep3 started). + They had access high level/secret stuff, did crazy stuff (like chrome dragons), and even had spies. Considering how big they made it look [spoiler] even if luther pulled an Adrian Veidt on his collaborators, i that they are completely gone. + some of the greatest tech advances like mags were done there.

So we could use that secret big megacorp with a lot of resources and ties with the top brass, that have giving arks / oracle a lot of help and instead of being thanked they got turned into the public enemy because luther and are being pulled down. If we guess they have copies of the same tech from the vopar facility luther developed and later got destroyed in the main story they could even have an army of those mindless claris claes clones + This those guys were probably so big that it could even be some crazy person working in there redirecting company resources to build a Cast supremacy group that wants to kill all the fleshies

Firstly, those points aren't even a downfall because regardless of whether or not we can skills in the ship has nothing to do with the plot. The only reason why we can't use skills is because that's how the game is built. Even without a weapon you can't even punch or use an attack. Going to your next point, we weren't saying that Oracle would try to get rid of them altogether, we were saying that they would be questioning how much power they have and how much they have to restrain the ARKs. Regardless of whether or not normal people can get infected by darkers doesn't mean they still can't put up a fight against them or at least try. Also the entity thing... let's take my country, America, for example. The army, the marines, and the air force are separate entities, right? That's basically the same deal with the ARKs/Oracle. However, we would just be adding a third layer which would be some kind of army force. And honestly the getting infected part would be a great plot point if someone RPed as a normal human. That could actually enhance the drama in some cases and people might feel the need to protect certain characters based on their photon sensitivity.

Interesting ideas. We thought about a stranded group of people actually earlier. I like the idea of using the void labs. It would be pretty cool to have an evil organization running in the midst of the council's organization questioning, like a distraction of some kind. I will begin to write a plot with all of your ideas together, and we can build from that plot, take things out, and edit what we have brainstormed together... just to keep things moving.

Anyways, thanks for the input everyone! typing a Prologue to get things started~

Actually not. Theres a story matter board were matoi casts something in the infermary and Phillia freaks out because that should be impossible to do.

I see the analogy with marines/army, yeah giving some extra thought i guess it could be viable, but it still reminds me more the halo universe than pso.

Gender: Female

Age: 21. She calls herself a legal loli!

Race: Dewman. Was actually human, but was part of a photon enhancing experiment that mutated her body and halted her growth.

Personality: Easy going with a dirty mind, very messy and clumsy when nervous, dislikes all fish except sardines. Doesn't care much about her arks rank as long as she can pay for rappy plushies and costumes. Dislikes extremely hot and cold places.

History: Wanted to join Arks because of the nice pay and cool toys, but she couldn't pass the aptitude tests because her low photon sensitivity.

Oh, well my mistake. I thought I read somewhere that Io was in the council of six. I haven't bothered with the story yet because the last time I tried on my first character everything was in Japanese and I couldn't really grasp what was going on. That said, I started Episode 3 by accident when I first started playing and didn't know how to switch or use matterboards because the tutorial was in japanese.

I would prefer to use main elements of the story as well without deviating too far from the plot. But for now a lot of the story is still locked behind a language barrier and I can't read Japanese... XP When I have more time I'll probably try to google the translation notes.

I'm not too familiar with PS Nova. PSO2 is the only game I've really played in the Phantasy Star setting aside from PSO which I only played a little with my friends in college. :(

I haven't played anything aside from PSO2 myself either. I only heard that PS Nova sort of branches off from PSO2 at the early part of Ep 1. Apparently, it's about one of the ships in the Oracle being sent off to investigate a planet that's unreachable by normal space-warp method of travel that Arks use. They crash land on the planet, finds that they can't use photons yet have to fight off the Darkers and natives there by some other method.
So I just thought we could maybe combine your and Dai's idea with Nova plot, minus the whole "not being able to use photons" because that makes things too complicated.

And just to make sure I'm getting the right picture, we're leaning toward the idea of following PSO2 story, right? To what extent is still being worked out but since Rupika's background involves Void's lab and such, it would be weird NOT to follow PSO2 story.

What we can do to combine all the ideas here is say that we can start this RP with the thought that this kicks off around early to mid EP 1 time (AP 238, I think). so we can do some of our characters meeting and getting to know each other, if we want. But as we slowly move toward Ep 2, Oracle/Void labs/Luther start to keep tighter leash on us, which leads to some of the ideas we've discussed on here. That way we can RP what could be happening on the sidelines of PSO2 story (which can be happening in the background, with a few tweaks if necessary; that way we're still doing our own thing but not going off on a complete tangent).

...Am I even making sense anymore? I feel like I'm just rambling now.
But anyway, yes, Dai, it'd be nice if you write the prologue so we can all be on the same page! Things can be a little confusing from pages of discussions like this.

Also, I want to recommend that everyone do the matter boards and play the story quests, if you haven't already. Even if we end up only following PSO2 story loosely, it'd help a lot to know more about what's going on inside the Arks organization and Oracle and etc.

Are you using the Tweaker? If so, you should be able to download the English story patch and play the story quests. I believe all of Ep 1 and 2 cutscenes have been translated, minus one in 2-5 due to Sega keep changing the file format.

You can switch the matter board by simply opening the matter board window (find it in the main menu) and selecting what you want to play. If you don't feel like playing through all that, you can watch all ep 1 and 2 cutscenes by going to My room terminal -> Event chronicles.

All of you have such cute and interesting characters, by the way~ I can't wait to meet them! ;-)

Ok, here's the prologue!

-PROLOGUE-

[SPOILER-BOX]

While I recommend this just so that everyone can understand what's happening in the story (I think I stopped after Magasutu came out), but in terms of the RP I would suggest that if there's anything directly involved with the MB that it be approached indirectly. An example would rumors about whatever or sights of Chrome Dragon, etc. Basically acknowledging what is currently happening or has happened (because we can't start ourselves ahead of the game nor can we go too far back).

Alright, here's my character's biography.

Name: Murakami Yurito (In-game: ユリト)

- What are T-cells? ( I mean is this original or lore based, just curious )
- Does anyone live in the mothership? ( I'm really curious about this one lore wise, ep2-5 made it feel like that huge ship was just full of space fish ).

- Does anyone live in the mothership? ( I'm really curious about this one lore wise, ep2-5 made it feel like that huge ship was just full of space fish ).

I can answer your second question:

The Mothership is usually off limits to everyone except the Council of Six. To further prove this, Regius places the Code Abyss on you upon getting there (plus other things that happened before). While it's not said outright, it's something that you can assume considering you don't really set foot in the Mothership again after the whole ordeal that made you go there in the first place.

Just about everyone lives in their corresponding ship basically.

Alright, here's my character's biography.

Name: Murakami Yurito (In-game: ユリト)

*Still not finished yet*

Accepted!! Oh gosh, you guys are making so many cool characters, I'm really excited about this!

Oh, they're called t-cells? I thought it was something like old pso d-cells.

I know right? Honestly I don't even get why people don't become skeptical of the mothership either. Like, nobody has access to it except the higher ups. I guess it's for security reasons though? Sounds a little impersonal to be trapped inside a ship away from the rest of civilization. I mean, who wouldn't develop power issues being cooped up all the time?

Weren't D-cells in PSO1 like really bad stuff that has to do with dark falz and stuff? =o

The Mothership also contained stuff like... What was left of Photoners and Xion's real body, so yeah, considering what Luther was gonna do once there, no surprise access was restricted. Now as to why it has to be so big, no idea.

I just kind of imagine the mother ship having like, casinos, bars, swimming pools, entire cities and just like 10-12 people have access to everything LOL

I definitely think this is the real reason. I would say the PAPR project could potentially be handled inside the mothership, probably how Photon sensitivity is tested.

OH! Also, I was going to say, we could probably start this RP soon once we get some more character sheets done. Let me know when you think you will be finished with your characters. Also, can you guys tell me what your Time Zone is?

Oh, come on~. We've both talked about that plentifully. =x

As to what was said about the Mothership, it's pretty much on the money. Outside of having Xion's real body and what was left of the Photoners, I would definitely say that records and other stuff related to that would be kept under lock inside the Mothership. The possibility of experiments and other projects also taking place in there is possible, but, unfortunately, there's not much of a word in regards to that. But, I'd say it's a safe compromise to say that it is indeed possible.

This chart looks a bit wrong tho...
I'm in France (GMT+1) and according to that map I should be GMT+0.
Also from experience, there's a 6-9 hours difference from here to NA (so EST would be GMT-5 and PST GMT-8 ).
There's also the fact that NA/EU don't change hours at the same time buuuut that's another matter entirely.

I'm still not too hot on the ODF-PAPR idea but I'll post my char's profile later just in case.

Also, I'm wondering whether it would be a good idea to meet up separately and then later we all start to cross paths more and more. Plus we all have sort of different schedules, but I will try to make time for you guys. Time zones are a pain to deal with ^^;

[SPOILER-BOX]

C H A R A C T E R S H E E T

Ok, here's the prologue!

-PROLOGUE-

[SPOILER-BOX]

History:
Archer's father died before she was born and her mother died after giving birth, so Archer was dropped right away into an orphanage without an official birth name. At the age of 17, she participated in an experiment (on her own will) which resulted in her mutation into a deuman.

Her companions complemented her stating that she ran around the forest like Robin Hood or some sort of elf from a fantasy story thus earning her nickname that everyone now calls her by.[/SPOILER-BOX][/SPOILER-BOX]

[SPOILER-BOX]Name: Toma

Appearance: Around 6 feet tall. Thin yet athletic. Long jet black hair that covers his pure white eyes. He wears goggles on his head although he rarely uses them.

I'm fine with any day on the late-night and mid Early morning period. ( i wont be able to stay awake till 6 am but 4 am should be fine most of the time).

Mornings are impossible for me, (need to sleep :3) Afternoon depending on my lunch time (usually 3:30-4pm) And evenings yes, but i usually get phone meetings with clients at that time schedule 2-3 times a week so... would need to schedule it in advance

Race: Newman

Age: 14

Personality: Totori is a timid, shy girl, who simply tires easily. Due to her physical weakness, she is known to greatly depend on the support of others to keep her going, when things get tough. I'm in JST, which is GMT +9.

So that would be roughly (in GMT)...

Natsu Nem
Aug 17, 2015, 02:59 AM
I'm bored so I wrote this out.

Extra Fluff Stuff
[SPOILER-BOX]Weapon: Her main weapon is a unique bow mysteriously designed by the Void Labs specifically for her use. The bow harnesses Rumiel's photons and shapes them into bolts of pure energy. The bow can separate and transform into two blades for close combat.

Photon Arts: Through devious manipulation, the Dewman Rumiel was implanted with knowledge of unknown Photon Arts and variations of declassified Photon Arts commonly used by ARKS personnel.

Bow Mode Photon Arts
[SPOILER-BOX]Heart Seeker
Variation of Master Shot. Fire a single arrow that seeks out the target.

Netsu Nem and Totori's characters have been approved and added to the list.

This makes up 11 characters total so far.

Also, IronKrone, hopefully it's not a burden to come on for you since you're the only one that's on the opposite side of the world from the rest of the group!

Obviously it will be incredibly hard to meet with everyone constantly, so plan ahead and plan with at least a couple of other people on your own ends. Most of us can make the events if planned right, however, if you can't make certain events it's ok. Not everyone is going to make everything, heck, I'm even assuming that for myself. I might plan something and not be able to show up. So, don't worry about missing them, just be in-character when you plan to RP and keep it moving. I hate to be the guy to say don't worry about leaving people behind but...it's going to be impossible to meet together all the time. School is coming up for me and I can't make everything. Although, I will say that the more you are involved the more the plot will be effected by the actions of your characters and the story will be altered.

I'm going to try to plan a time so everything (if not everyone a good 90% of you guys) can make the first event to kick things off. From there your characters will go on separate paths while intersecting with other characters along the way, or team up right off the bat and have a team. You all will team up and create allies, rivals, etc. I hope you guys are alright with this reality of not always being able to role-play as a huge group. But let's do our best for the larger events and plot lines.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Totori came up with a really good idea you guys. Round of applause to her xD

Anyways, in order to organize this a lot better, I'm going to set up a Google Doc so we can all have access to it. Also if we made a Skype group we can see when we are online and such, so that could be helpful.

Don't worry! I'm sure everyone here understands that not everyone can make it to events all the time. Real life should always be the number one priority. But it would be nice to plan any event at least 2-3 days ahead of time though. That way people will have plenty of time to check and shift their schedule if it's possible.

But yes, Google Doc and Skype is a great idea! I was actually going to suggest the Google Doc myself since there's a limit on keeping up with everything on here, especially as our RP takes off fully.

Also, I am working on my character right now so that should be up soon.

Ow, this 1st formal meeting will be at 4am for me, so I won't be there, oh well! There'll be plenty of other times.
And now I *finally* put that up.

Alright, here's my character. That took forever, didn't it.

Afterall, the Oracle's main interest was to protect all its citizens, including the Arks... right?

I'm probably all for this, and definitely option 1 or a combo of 1 and 2, as the old RP group is pretty much dead and any plot idea I had with one other person just got ignored and tossed aside. Its really late for me right now, but I'll provide links to the old rp wiki where I put my bios later. I have a family of characters so...it will be hard for me to post all that here.

As such, they no longer have the authority of ARKS members and have the same restrictions as civilians. However, since their licenses have been deactivated, they are exempt from participating in any operations unless instructed to do so by a commanding officer. While being an ARKS is a full-time job, many members often take time off to either recuperate in their ships or visit the blue zones of planets where colonies have been established.

Unfortunately, ARKS members can choose when and where to deactivate their licenses. The logistics office often has to work overtime logging in all the information from many of the ARKS members, much to the chagrin of their superiors.

Planetary Zones
While Oracle is a self-sustaining exploration fleet, it has often established colonies on planets in order to gather resources or conduct research on the local fauna. In that regard the ARKS and the ODF have worked together to establish well-defined zones around the planets, each designated for specific activities be it recreation and habitation or exploration and suppression.

Blue Zones: (Difficulty: None) Blue zones are often safe areas that are heavily defended by ODF presence. It is where Oracle has establish settlements and research facilities. Many ARKS also make their home here and are ready to venture out at a moments notice, further bolstering the defensive capabilities of such zones. Very rarely do Darkers ever manage to threaten these areas, and it is often a serious ordeal when they do. Such examples include the invasion of Oracle mining bases by a massive Darker force on the planet of Lilipa.

Yellow Zones: (Difficulty: Normal/Hard) Yellow Zones are often made up of areas that are still undergoing exploration, but have been generally considered areas that are under Oracle control. Forward bases are common in these areas, and Darker presence is often low. However, the natives are still extremely dangerous and have been difficult to control. Civilians are often prohibited from entering these areas without military escort. Special licenses are required for some Yellow Zones by both ARKS and ODF members.

Red Zones: (Difficulty: Very Hard) Red zones are areas where Darker influence is very strong. Operations here usually heavily involve ARKS members working in tandem with the ODF AIS Corps and other heavy infantry. Rookie Arks are generally barred from entering these areas without a special license. Red Zones often see heavy fighting, but the combined force of ARKS and ODF presence have managed to halt the flow of the Darkers. Many of the natives here have also succumbed to Darker corruption, and as a result are far more resilient and aggressive. Koffie advises caution when performing operations in these areas.

Black Zones: (Difficulty: Super Hard/Extra Hard) Black zones are few and far in between, but can only be accessed by ARKS members. Deemed too costly for the ODF, Oracle has withdrawn most of their forces from these areas save for a number of veteran AIS units that assist ARKS members on operations. Only the strongest ARKS, recognized by the Council of Six, are permitted to enter these areas that have nearly collapsed due to darker influence.

If you guys want, we could discuss which zones would be established as what color for the sake of the RP. We could then use ARKS quests as sudden EQs or something, by throwing them in as Super Hard or Extra Hard quests in areas that are classified as Blue/Yellow zones (such as doing a SH Caterdran in the volcanic caves, which would be generally a Yellow (hard) zone).

N/H/VH/SH/XH as in difficulty modes in-game? I think it's best to avoid labeling "zones" based on the in-game difficulties because for those who play casually they won't be able to join said event if they don't meet level requirement. Some stuffs from gameplay shouldn't be incorporated as it might hold the RP back (examples like weak bullet, quest difficulties, that techer reviving skill, resta/anti spam, boss attacks that normally insta-kill *looking at you quartz*, and massive hunter).

I know there are a lot of players who have high levels for said "zones", but this discourages new comers in both RP and/or the game.

Though I do like the idea of being ARKs member temporarily discharged for vacations, etc.

Saying things like that should be excluded would be similar to asking people with certain play styles or load outs that rely on some of the things you named to water themselves (and possibly by extension, their characters) down. I'd leave something like that up to discretion depending on the situation; if an RPer can gauge not to use something as often (instead of not at all) for the scene's sake, then I'd say let it roll.

It would depend on the situation or how things are engaged as to said things should be excluded or limited, especially when it comes to combat. But this would be dependent on whether combat is done physically in-game or the used of story telling and imagination of said event happening. Either path aren't perfect for various reason, but it all comes down how we all approach it.

I don't like the "being offline means your char is on vacation" thing.
How am I supposed to explain that my hard-working character is actually hard working if I'm technically only on for a couple hours a day due to real life job, and as such, slacking off for most of every day?
And same thoughts as the others on difficulties/etc, not EVERYTHING needs an explanation.
Also regular boss areas can only have up to 4 people inside, which isn't very useable once you breech the small scale of RPers.

Offline, you're in an area that is near impossible to contact through any kind of device.
There. Explanation fixed.

Your character could be doing administrative work outside of just doing operations as ARKS that would not require a license to be active. Although you do make a point... *scratches chin* I work almost full time as well despite being a part-timer because my workplace is short on people, so at most I only get to be on for a couple hours of the day. However, even in real life running operations for a few hours at a time is already a fairly daunting task for a lot of militaries. Maybe we could do something like that? I'm not sure how closely we are going to follow the timescale but I think even ARKS members would get pretty exhausted if they were doing missions for hours on end.

Otherwise, we could say that your character also works jobs outside of ARKS for various reasons. I wanted to add flavor text to the RP, but we don't have to follow the lore exactly to a tee.

Hmm... that's also another good point that I admittedly glossed over. :(

Well... we don't have to tie difficulties specifically to any particular stage, but instead we can simply switch difficulties if, in the story, we want to do operations in more difficult areas. So for example, we could train or do routine patrols in Normal/Hard mode of Naberius Exploration, and then later go to do a Super Hard or Advance Quest in the same area if we want to do an event where the ARKS need to suppress Darker activity.

I'm not sure, trying to explain all game mechanics feels overthinking it, in the end difficulties are there just so we can hook up more + for the sake of rping we're probably going to be on lower difficulties to make the rping easier. What if in a few months sega comes with yet another diffculty..like Mega hard.

Also lore wise, doing more jobs allowed you to access new areas thru licenses if i recall correctly (story wise they never explained the class level part).

The being offline between events why don't we just take it as the gap between episodes on series? You just continue your normal routine, sleeping, eating, saving the universe, burning money on dudu and punching rappies.

Also we could think on being online as having your phone on. Maybe you're working on a secret or hard mission or you just don't want to be disturbed.

I don't know about you guys, but when my character is offline, it means he's either A) training alone, B) visiting his family in the suburban districts of the ARKS ship, or B) sleeping.

Since there's not really any actual signs of whether it's night/day on the ARKS ships, ARKS can choose their schedule using 24 hour time. For example, Yurito's schedule is 8:00 - 22:00, but he doesn't necessarily need to be on quests all the time. He sometimes takes long breaks during that period, and only attends EQs, or to complete his Daily Orders.

(Part of this is because I have another character that's a higher level that I use more than him.)

As for the difficulty thing, most of the time we'll be playing on Normal/Hard/VH to clear out the areas easily.

Wouldn't it be best to just set field events to normal so eceryone has access to participate? If higher difficulties are used it might cause discontent and other bad stuff which could mean bad news if there was a problem that rose up from that.

Now if players wanted to meet for out of character play or private scenes then I suppose it shouldn't be a problem then?

I dunno just my few meseta but in the end it's whatever you guys voted on ^^;

Overthinking things would make it seem more tedious, yes. Sure, there might be rules set in place for something later, but things haven't really started yet, so it's just testing the water at this rate to see if anything has to be done anyway.

As for characters being offline, at least in my character's case, is similar to what Zanverse posed--either private matters, working elsewhere, or sleeping. OOC, it's not uncommon to be poked on Skype or Twitter suddenly to hop on for something, so that's one reason characters can suddenly be seen "online".

Normal for events, at the moment, I'm OK with. Everything else? Just handle it as it happens, really.

I agree. I think for general RP events involving the whole group we should do just Normal or Hard difficulty. It would allow people to play any build they want (such as Ranger/Techer) without being pigeon-holed into optimized builds for harder difficulties.

Quest Summary: Invading Darker Force Repelled by ARKS and ODF
Valen, Rupika, Ramiel, and Nikolai help Sparrow defend a Vopar settlement against an invading Darker force. While the attack came suddenly, with the assistance of ARKS, the ODF were able to hold off the enemy long enough for the facility to be evacuated. This day is seen as a victory for Oracle, not only against the Darkers but for the people as well. The combined might of the ARKS and ODF forces was broadcasted across Oracle for all to see.

The settlement on Vopar has been secured by ODF units, and attempts have begun to restore it to maximum operating capacity. Multiple Chrome Dragons and greater Darker combat forms were sighted, but were defeated by veteran ARKS.

Unfortunately, for the 5 ARKS members who acted independently without proper clearance, they were punished with a 7-day leave and ample amounts of paperwork to fill out.

Updated Yurito's character sheet:

[SPOILER-BOX]Name: Murakami Yurito (In-game: ユリト)

But for now, Yurito is Byul's assigned apprentice, and must listen to her, as ordered by his own father.

Other Information: Yurito has a second personality, a secret identity in a way. This identity is known as Kagekiri (derives from “kage” = shadow and “kamakiri” = Mantis)

Appearance: [SPOILER-BOX]http://i.imgur.com/zGjut69.png[/SPOILER-BOX]

Kagekiri is very quiet, stealthy and brutal on the battlefield. He moves in an assassin-like manner, as if he was one with the wind around him. No one would suspect that Yurito was behind that costume, mostly because of the major differences between both their personalities. While Kagekiri is more confident and precise, Yurito is remains a fearful wreck in the face of an enemy. Kagekiri also shows signs of being a slightly rogue ARKS member.

Now that he was demoted, Yurito's urge to use Kagekiri again, as a way to take down ODF anonymously, is growing...

(Yurito might end up late to the meetings sometimes because he's too busy changing out of his Kagekiri outfit, but no one suspects a thing. ) [/SPOILER-BOX]

Hrm. Something's not sitting too well with me, so I'll just mention it:

Kokurokoki, could you check with people on consequences next time? It would be almost impossible to procure a campship for activities without going through the proper channels to get clearance anyway.
For example, Nikolai's been around long enough to at least know, "If I'm going to help with something, I should check if I can first." Since he was able to get a campship, it should have been obvious that he got a green light to assist (If he found out he couldn't go, he would have relayed it to Sparrow).

He mentioned this yesterday (just rechecked the log):

Citizen Status... elderly citizens, medical aid, and working... tasks involved on board.

Sounds like you got demoted to normal citizen status

On another note, my team's room is open.
It's using the city night setup, so if you're looking for a bar/plaza to hang out in...
Just look up exceRPt in team searches, the option to go should be there.
Couple things if you do go there to have fun~

1/ No, the team room NPC is not there, nor is the room, in any way, a spaceship. That would just be weird (just pretend it's really a more normal location). The bar's name is "Be-Nova-Lent". The owner keeps his identity under wraps, and the staff cannot tell. Surely a rich man with a poor naming sense.

2/ It is a fairly specialised bar. You pay a small fee (or become a member for a higher fee, but with some privileges(not a team member mind you)) for entry, after which you are allowed to roam free there. Lots of cheap drinks and small foods are offered freely, good enough to keep people busy, not good enough to actually have a proper taste (it's pretty much all peanuts, water, and some light fruit juices). There is a service to buy actual food. It's not exactly cheap, but it's miles above the standard fare. Members get a free full meal of their choice with a drink once a day. And are generally regular customers, so the staff can be nicer to them. Everyone has to clean up behind them, however.

3/ Due to the customers being mostly free to roam and most foods are self-serve, there are not many waiters around. There are, however, security cameras (some obvious, some quite well hidden) and trained bouncers who can, and will, handle rowdy customers. The bar being, like most areas in the fleet, under photonic power suppressors, there are few people the bouncers cannot contain. Those people can be certain to be banned from the place and see much higher security called on them.
But the Be-Nova-Lent has a good reputation, so these situations only crop up rarely.

X1/ "How do I become a member?" You might want to ask! Well it's simple : just assume you are one. The Be-Nova-Lent is not a brand new place : it has a bit of history, going well for over 10 years now! The bar is not particularly popular, but the low fees and laid back atmosphere got the place various regulars (and the bouncers are pretty nice once you get to know them).

X2/ Yes, the name is a horrible joke on "Benevolent" and "Nova". Rumor has it that the owner never shows itself out of shame and stubborness to change the name.

It's kinda late so maybe I forget things I should put there. Ask away if you something's not clear.

Oh em gee i missed that. Is there a planned date for this?

------

I would like to organize a lil side event before that (for timing...how about this saturday at 11pm london time?). I can fit 6-7 people tops on it (mpa limits).

I'l try to not spoil much, but time to create some "hype".

It's going to be a mission, and plot wise it's kind to going to "help a bit" the odf but it's a sort of a i scratch your back you scratch mine deal. My main idea was to use it to get rid of that "forceful week leave" for helping the odf on Vopar (or for those who didn't come maybe getting other favour that don't affect the main story line for your characters).

1.- It's something undercover.
2.- Even if you/we're on leave, because the beach event, you can do it. Its undercover work, no registers are going to be kept of it.
3.- I' want to try to make it somewhat active action wise, but its going to be a mission in N.Mode. So because plot reasons (RP Rupi will explain), the thing is going to be nonsilly gunslash, rifle, tmg's trying to keep PA's at minimum (it will make sense when the thing unfolds).

To keep it RP wise those who want to participate ingame will get a message via a "good job" with a lil url with a message with some of the details. (Will post everything on forum after the thing ends).

@Dycize Mind if i use your bar for a part of this thing? The backstory kinda fits better for something i wanted to do better than the casino.

11 PM London Time would be... about 5 or 6 Central time right?

If that's the case I will miss it just barely by about an hour or two... I'd love to come but... sorry... Q_Q

If I can make it I will log on and meet you guys at the scheduled place. If not, that means Sparrow got stuck doing mountains of paperwork for both the ODF and ARKS after his superior went "u wot" at him mobilizing the ARKS to help the ODF and managing to break some experimental ODF gear in the process.

11 PM London Time would be... about 5 or 6 Central time right?

It's 5 pm for CST, I believe.

So the next meeting of sending out the Expedition Status members and Rupika's side event will both take place on Saturday, 11pm on London time, according to the update on the google excel schedule planner? (Obviously the side event will occur after the main meeting, right?)

That's Sunday 7am for me. I can make it but I'd have to leave in the middle again, even earlier than last time. I personally prefer it take an hour or two early but... I'm not sure how that works out for everyone else.

Also, I want to talk about the possible direction this whole RP will go after this sending out event.

Since everyone has been split into three groups and will be separated for the most part, I think each group should have their separate meetings to RP whatever is happening within that group.

For example, those who have been assigned to Citizen status can go do something like the mini rouge group that Zanverse mentioned (so you're gonna have to elaborate on that soon, Zan), while those with Expedition status can go out and discover some suspicious information/evidence/whatever else regarding the ODF. Characters with normal Arks status could something too (I just don't have any idea at the moment). And what's happening in each group doesn't have to be completely separate. In fact, it'll probably be better if it overlaps to some degree so that there's some communication going on among the groups, which would help to solve the problem later more efficiently.

But what I'm trying to say is that all three different groups should have something going on, and eventually, it'll all connect and help to solve the ODF's growing control over the Arks.

That's just a suggestion of what direction this whole RP could head toward. I would like to hear you guys think about it and discuss what could be happening in each group, if you're interested.

Either way, it would be nice if we can get a list of who's in what status group and add that onto the Google Doc. Does anyone have it?

And those who weren't able to make it to the first event or is new can let Dai know and maybe he can send you an in-game mail from Kuro, telling you which status has been assigned to your character? Just a thought.

Errr did someone misread my post and set it on the same time? I swear the date wasn't there when i posted.

Story wise it would be better to have mine before the main story since... everyone who gets sent out...they wont be able to participate because they're out of reach. Which was one of the reasons i was rushing it a bit date wise.

Also i can move it a few hours later, i'm not sure i can do it earlier. Maybe 10pm. But saturday is my taco/xq day.

Huh... I guess there was some sort of confusion there. But I'm sure it won't be a problem to push the main story to a later date so we can do your side event on Saturday. And do you have any idea how long it'll last approximately? I just don't like leaving in the middle.

And I totally forgot about the fact that you can only mail people on your friends list. I guess we need to think of another to do that for those who missed it... preferably before the next main story meeting.

Well the overall idea is:

Quick "5 minutish meeting" @ the Be-Nova-Lent
One-two normal mode missions, the first one can be rushed up a bit. Its mostly so i get some time to finish setupping the second one (kind of depends on how many psovm's my computer can hold, will need a bit of time to relog one account and get it into position). So..i count about an hour tops.

And I totally forgot about the fact that you can only mail people on your friends list. I guess we need to think of another to do that for those who missed it... preferably before the next main story meeting.

You can use good job messages (which nobody checks, maybe leave a warning in the forum). But maybe putting some kind of public official list (like on exam results) isn't a bad idea. And send via good job comment: Those who weren't on the meeting check your new reasignations on the board.

Alternatively, we would need someone who has everyone added to relay those messages via mail.

Errr did someone misread my post and set it on the same time? I swear the date wasn't there when i posted.Seems like it. If they both happen at the same time, something's gonna be missed.

Since the "Sending Them Out... And Updates!" event was TBA at the time Rupikachu pitched their event, and now that main story event is set at the same time as the side event (Saturday 11 PM London time), maybe the main event could get bumped over a night or two so people that said they'd be able to make Rupikachu's side event could also have a chance to make the main one.

Feel free to tell me your character's role (and anyone else's that you know of) so I can add them to the document as well! I'll add the character rp logs too if you get around to making one!

For the roles section, Ogeraun is under Citizen status (and she is also working part-time at the Be-Nova-Lent, what a coincidence!)

...What exactly happened after I left for you to say that? :-oOh, nothing terrible. Just staying away from Vopar-based missions for a bit because of all that water. Then again, I might have to go back for Daily Orders anyway ughhhhhhh :(

So uhh... what did I miss? Lots of work and family stuff this weekend.. >_<The send out main event got postponed, but there was a side event that Rupikachu hosted. You can check Saker's, Rupikachu's, and Nikolai's RP logs for some details, but since it was an undercover rescue mission, there might not be enough details to describe everything.

TL;DR: Saker, Niko, and Byul posed as rookie ODF members (disguises and all) to rescue Rupikachu and some researchers. Turned out to be a nifty escort mission, and any ARKS that were on the forced week leave and part of the mission had it lifted from the success.

Oh nice! I'm glad everything went well. Unfortunately it seems like Sparrow is still stuck on leave unless we are fast-forwarding things for the sake of plot. Nonethelesss... hopefully if I can change my work schedule I will have time to roleplay with you guys some more. College is starting for me so I have to grind on the books rather than on Naberius/Amadusca/Vopar/Lilipia. :(

Anyways... Here's my character sheet!!!

---

Name: Sparrow (Alias); Takeya Smith Jones

Appearance: No one knows since he is rarely seen without his helmet! Those in his squad used to make a game out of trying to catch him without his helmet on.

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Age: 22

Class: Gunner/Fighter; Gunner/Techer

Personality: Befitting a squad leader, Sparrow has notably laid-back and upbeat attitude--a rarity in both the ODF and ARKS as the battle against the Darkers has taken a turn for the worse. Even when situations turn dark, he always tries to find some sort of witty remark to brighten the mood. Those who have served under him have always regarded him well, although his demeanor tends to put off his superiors from time to time.

His friendliness has earned him the respect of some ARKS members, as more recently before his transfer he has participated in many joint operations. Due to this, and the fact that he managed to pass the ARKS Ranger-class Exam, he was transferred into ARKS in order to hopefully improve relations between the two.

He is known for having workaholic tendencies which has caused concern with his superiors and colleagues.

History: Takeya was born on the Stratos ship to a Nihonese mother and a Russenese father. Both of his parents were ODF members with average but notably bright careers. However, his father soon retired after a failed operation on Amadusca resulted in the death of his mother. Nonetheless, despite his father's protests Takeya joined the ODF at the age of 15 and began training. He passed the ODF recruitment tests with relative ease, and became a squad leader roughly five years later.

During his time with the ODF, he met and fell in love with a Newman girl named Alice who was also part of ARKS. However, due to political reasons their relationship never came to fruition. It is believed that he began to develop workaholic tendencies around this time period, but no one knows if it was related to the incident or not. Eventually he transferred to the Ur ship a few months later due to personnel shortages in the ODF.

In the following months after receiving his squad leader promotion, Takeya accidentally signed up for the ARKS Ranger Exam. Believing it to be an ODF re-certification test, he took the exam and passed it, failing only in the photon sensitivity portion of the exam. Despite this, his scores were notably impressive, and he was given an ARKS license--although it would not be activated until he would formally transfer into the organization two years later.

Despite being in different ships, Takeya and Alice still talk with one another through emails sent every few weeks. Although due to increasing darker activity and growing tensions within the military branches of Oracle, it has become more and more difficult stay in touch. Once a year he also visits his father, and they often spend the night gambling away at the casinos playing Black Nyack with their old ODF buddies.

Takeya wears an experimental power suit designed by the ODF to grant photonic abilities to non-photonic individuals. The suit enhances his strength by a notable degree, while also allowing him to perform photon arts so long as the data is loaded onto the suit's memory banks. While not on par with actual ARKS members, the suit is constantly being upgraded by studying combat data recorded in the suit from operations. The suit resembles the traditional Close Quarters G model of ARKS combat gear so as not to stand out. It comes equipped with a high-powered assault rifle and launcher, and is later upgraded to equip power fists for close-quarters.

No worries about what caused the lack of attendance. Happenings in life have a tendency to work like that from time to time. Also, book grinding ugh. I hope they have a sell-back program after the grind. Best of luck!

Arrange this in a Google Doc set to view-only for those with the link, slap the link here; and Dai, IronKrone, or I can put it in the Important Info Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f7imGVNPsJueet4Ln9t0qnKb8cuSMoZ6pDB-6hsjZKA/edit?usp=sharing) under Character RP Logs so we can see your updates for the profile from there.

Same goes for everyone else to help make things easier!
