where exactly did sega think this was a great idea? better yet if they were going to implement this why couldnt they at least have a feature to turn it off so people cant see what u are doing. i mean honestly if i wanted you in my party i probably would have asked you myself.

plus i mean this is making it difficult to do some things i wanted to do on my own without getting bugged when i happen to be in a bad mood. edit: also will mention i have friends who are also very annoyed with this feature

I think its great. It let me know when someone was lying to me about weekly TAs so that I could dump them like a hot potato. Only time I ever cared since I usually only party with teammates anyway.

I understand what you mean though. I actually like my privacy.

Because people are too ignorant to utilize the privacy features that they also have.

Honestly, if I didn't want you in my party, I'd restrict joining myself.

Why are you even complaining about this now? It has always been possible for friends to find your current block and your current quest. It has always been possible for you to block people from joining you. Why was this never a problem for you in the past? Why can't you just set a password? Why are you annoyed that people you let be on your friends list are bugging you about what quest you're in?

As you can see, I don't like when people complain about things that they should already be able to counter-act.

...what are we talking about?

About a month ago Sega added the ability to see what the people on your friends list are doing without actually checking the quest counter. You just hover over their name and it tells you in a box to the right. Quest, difficulty, and number of players in their party.

Or you could update the new friend list message feature with your current mod or idea of spending that game session, since they are checking your stat they will certainly read it.

The feature was on PSU, not strange at all to see it back (on xbox live profile it would even say with how many people you were playing and the name of the mission).

cause i totally dont do that or anything... the issue is they can see what u are doing no matter where they are and pester and full blocking outsiders with passwords and team/friends only combined isnt gonna do anything about that

You could set your friend message (the one you define yourself that friends can read) to explain your situation as you see fit, and train your friends to actually read it and take heed of it.

Lack of appear offline type things does suck.

My friends actually don't invite themselves into my party which is neat. I usually have it set to friends only but they are still courteous enough to ask. It is about the people you know and consider "friends".

That said to explain my situation above someone that I essentially asked to leave my team because they were causing problems due to their friend "feeling offended" and leaving the team. Offended over something that didn't involve them I should mention. Decided they want to "fix our friendship". So I partied with them for about 2 weeks. 3rd week when it was time for TAs they claimed they just got home from the hospital and didn't know about TAs.

Which is fine, things like that can wait it isn't a big deal for most people. So I logged off for about an hour to play something else. Come back and they were running TAs.

That "fixing" of friendship didn't last very long. Went back to running with my usual team. At least now I can go back to getting 500 FUN tickets from the weekly TA rankings since we are just casual players.

Telling me no is fine. Lying to me isn't fine.

Personally I think this feature was much needed as I can now advertise parties that I'm hosting to friends. The option to turn it off is not something I'm against, but this was definitely more of a positive feature than a negative one.

If people are going to harrass you about joining that thing you're doing when you say no, they're not really people you want to be friends with, is it?

I really don't see the problem.

Password the game.
Tell people you're soloing now.
Tell them you're not in the mood.
Blacklist them for a while so you show up offline.
Set your status to away or something.

I don't see the problem here.

Honestly, I don't even understand the word in light of the worlds mind set today. The word "friend" is highly over used, and very misunderstood. But simply B-list them for a few days, and then unlist them when your ready to socialize again.....(it's the internet):-?

[Ayumi]
Aug 19, 2015, 07:41 PM
...pretty much all of that.

Not really an overreaction. I mean like... if you really don't want certain people to see you online or not see you in missions or you want to be left alone...
you could do something as insane as blacklisting everyone if you wanted to do that.

Wouldn't recommend of course... especially if you already got many names on the blacklist.

KazukiQZ
Aug 19, 2015, 08:30 PM
Like someone had mentioned before, something simple as 'I wanna have some alone time for now, thank you for understanding' in the Friend Message, is good enough xD

If they still bother you too much like 'Hey wanna join my stuff? please join join join! Your stuff is irrelevant, so join mine' then, they aren't really friend, more of a opportunist =w=

To each their own / whatever floats your boat.

I personally am of the mindset that when I blacklist someone, its to permanently avoid interacting with them. I don't use it as a "time out button". I don't arbitrarily add people for one-time encounters. Like some other posters have said: If they're bugging me enough that warrants a blacklist, then they weren't really my friends in the first place.

But that's just me.

Well, to me it can both good and bad.

I'm not sure how the community is on Ship 2, since I'm on Ship 6.

Its useful for me to check if what are my friends running, if they're already doing TAs/ExQs etc. But since most of my friends are my Team members, and I tend to bring 3 Friend Partners whenever I decide to solo quests. And usually the ones who I add as friends are ones who I get along with, or want to try and get along with.

I'm sure some people don't like others knowing what they're doing sometimes, and I think there should be a option to disable that function to prevent others from seeing what you're doing.

And I know some people add others as 'Friends' just to get acquainted, or for easy whispers if you're not in a team when you want someone to run TAs/CQs/ExQs with or smth.

Back during PSU days once you hit my B-list you stayed there with no exceptions. And I kept my room locked to keep the ever nosy creeper from showing up in your room sitting on your bed just as you've logged in scenario. Now I utilize it as just a toggle feature, if and when it is required.
So just simply lock your runs, and ignore... Or just B-list and unlist as you see fit.

I'm never doing anything anyone would want to join. Mostly idling in the lobby.
If it's EQs, even if they wanted to join me, they can't, because of all the blocks being full.

That being said, a general hide from everyone option would be nice.
Sometimes I want to log in, pick up shit then log off, and I worry people might think I'm being a jerk for not saying hi.
Fortunately, the people on my friends list have been very understanding and reasonable.
Of course, that's not including that guy who pretended to be nice and blacklisted me for no reason.
If I knew he was a crazy egomaniac asshole, I would have avoided friending him to begin with.

More importantly, I really need a previous login date feature.
I'm sure it'd help clear out 80% of my friends list.
Either that, or they should let people register friend partners without taking up friend list space.

More than half the people I have on my friend list are players I haven't even seen nor chat before  they are "FUN friends" lol I play with their partners or send GJ just for the FUN bonus, some of them even do the same, and yeah, that means I usually accept random invites from people, most of the time are novices that used my partner, those usually give me more FUN since their list is small

Put "Busy, do not disturb" in the "friend message" (should have just called it status message). Anyone who doesn't read/respect it deserves a soft chewing out. Problem solved. I personally love it. It's a nice quick way of seeing who's potentially busy without bothering them, or who might not have a party for the next EQ. If people would actually use the message part of it for more than emojis, it'd be two steps away from being perfect. First step would be an "appear offline" option. Second step would be....

I'll just surround this quote with flowers and sparkles and neon and anything else that'll grab attention. This should have always been a thing.

At the moment, I'm partially glad the feature at least doesn't/didn't exist a while ago as I was off (unwillingly) from the game for a year. Still talk to those I was talking to the year+ back and would think they might've removed be long before if that feature was around.

I honestly don't see what the big problem is with being spied on. Stalked? Sure. Spied on? Not at all.

I don't mind nor care if friend(s) are scoping out my presence, checking up on what I'm up to and what block I'm on. Sometimes I even get whispers from my friends asking what difficulty am I playing the mission on, and often get "Nice" as a response. Nothing creepy about curiosity IMO.

It's a whole 'nother story when they just barge into my mission constantly out of nowhere, no message, no warning, not even a 'Hi,' just a straight up intrusion. Sure, I like to leave my party open for anyone to join, as I don't care who joins and when or for what reason.
I don't mind the same person joining the first few times, but after that it becomes a little too obvious that they have nothing to do but stalk me. It's even more annoying when I change blocks to join some multi-party and they still end up following, not even for the mission, just to stick to me. -shivers-

I would lock my parties, but I'm not gonna let a few bad apples ruin it for the friends who I gracefully welcome to join due to their positive behavior and awesome personalities.

you forget what % of the internet is anti-social or lacks human to human communication or something. just lock your parties or tell them that you dont feel up to playing with anyone today, nothing against you or anything just would like some solo play time today or whatever. least they understand and when you feel like playing with people just talk to them again normally, not hard to do

I'm anti-social. Talking to people normally is too hard for me and might increase my social skills rank a point or two. If I do that then one of my other skills might lose a point. I prefer it like this and hiss at anyone that gets close to me or wants to socialize.

I hope no one took this seriously. I just wanted to have some fun.
