I am all over that dress for Kayla, and it even comes in green, so no need to use a color change pass!
Caseal parts are not that great, in my opinion, but for a cutesy character, they probably work well.
Also, only three new accessories in the FUN scratch.
No real opinion on the collab outfits.

I think this is the first AC scratch ever (that I was present for) that doesn't have a single item I'd want. Which is good, since it gives me time to save up for Purple Heart Repca coming up. I see it being around 10~20m on day 1, depending on supply.

Oh look, Bunny Suits with tons of ears, and no tail again. Same shit as last year.
They really don't want to revive the tail. Three years and it's only been revived, what, twice?
The suits and ears have been revived about 3 - 5 times. They've also added tons more ears.
Disproportionate amount of outfits to virtually mandatory accessory. Yuck.

I'm sure there are people who want to make a new character with a bunny tail, but don't want to fork out 12 - 20m for it.
It was even higher last year, but IIRC they revived it during New Year's. But it was still so rare that almost nobody got it. Minimum price was about 4m.
SEGA is probably hurting their own profits by being lazy and tight with this stuff.
Unless their intention is to get people to buy scratch and sell it to make 20m. But how many people are going to blow 20m on a tail?

Also, very disappointed by the rainbow clown colors on the dresses. But, I expected as much.
They could have at least made the tights separate, but I guess that's too much work for SEGA's highest revenue MMO.
I really don't understand them. If they made stuff like the tights separate, people would probably buy more scratch.
The prices would be higher, but everyone would be happier with the outfits.
Probably takes less than 5 minutes to make an /F version if they really wanted to.

Oh no. Japanese is great. I love japanese.
What this is, is japanese on top of japanese. We have a school girl outfit with a military cape this scratch. If you look at it out of context, it's downright disturbing. Not only are we allowing child fighters, we're celebrating them!
The only way this makes sense is if one loves japanese culture so much, they develop a resistance to it such that they need concentrated doses of japanese to get the same otaku high they got when they were first exposed to japanese culture.

Also do you even anime bro.

Not for the last decade. Nearly everything I've seen is just a condensation of tropes from previous anime. I thought maybe I was getting jaded and thought the new stuff was too different from what I grew up with to enjoy. Then I saw Gurren Lagahn and fell in love.

Also not exactly the point.

Sep 9, 2015, 12:18 PM
Even then, those stories were taken from real world examples. They became classic stories because each teller gave their own twist to it. And then each of those stories were retold with their own twists, and those became their own classics.
And I feel like that's something that japanese culture isn't doing anymore. At first, it was great. They were taking western stories, and giving a japanese twist to them. Or taking japanese stories, and adding recently learned story telling techniques to them. But eventually, these twists became to take another show that's exactly like the one they're working on, and just take all its points until your show's details are all filled out without adding anything new. To the point where everyone decided that 17 was the only age people are allowed to star in stories.
Anime has become a melting pot. Not in that each story takes inspiration from many different sources. But in that, every anime has the same mish-mash of miss-matched ingredients, boiled down until the flavor is gone and the original meaning is lost.

Kind of my point; it's irrelevant how much you're recycling, so long as you do it well. It's a bonus if you can add some kind of personal touch.

Also you forgot about economics. Whatever the artistic ambitions or lack thereof of the people who actually put the thing together, what matters to the people holding the purse strings is turning a profit. That would be a very important reason why entertanement in general is awfully prone to conservatively sticking to proven formulas and avoiding risks.

I really can't think of many animes before this century that I've watched that were mainly based in highschool, with girl(s) that are either very stupid, mean, shy, attracted to the main character while the guys are one of those or of course the "cool" or typical outcast type that either is the main character or the side character that the typical watcher think is awesome because of how isolated he seems.

That or animes that are pretty much the average life of *insert random name* WHILE there mght be high school scenes which are somehow important to the plot.

Well, yeah. Target audiences and whatever. The vast majority of anime, as with any product of creative activity, is eminently forgettable and uninteresting junk by default.

I know it takes me on the average ten seconds, tops, of eyeballing a plot synopsis and character lineup to guesstimate whether a given example is existentially skippable or worth at least considering.

Things like Berserk with Gatsu, Casca, Puck, Griffith and such. Things like Lupin III with Lupin, Daisuki, Goemon. Things like hell... even Dragon Ball with Gokou and Roshi and Krillin and so on is more forgettable than stuff like...

That one anime with the orange hair girl that was mean to her brother that I can't remember much of. Or that one anime in school one of my friends got me to watch where they had some bike club that some otaku only joined to get people to join the anime club until he liked the bike club... and so on and so on.

I would say those typical same things over and over again are more forgettable. Even worse as because most of them at times are the same exact settings I can see the mind kind of blend them together without you thinking on it.

As bad as it's probably gonna be I'll probably enjoy it anyway, simply because I practically fetishize the whole concept of things being explained, and otherworld plots always have chances for that.

I have no clue what you said but anything about "fetishize" kind of worries me.

I'm saying I like plots where one of the characters is knowledgeable about something familiar to me, or that I can relate to, and explains it to other people.

I was expecting Volk Style to work on my characters, but... only a chosen few can properly harness the Volk Style. Everyone else will just explode into a cloud of poserness upon equipping it.

Instead... Sarashis for everyone, I guess.

;3290493']Things like Berserk with Gatsu, Casca, Puck, Griffith and such.

I think you need to review your syntax, it's terribly unclear what you're trying to say here. :|

Indubitably because the getup has a severe case of Tryhardis Wannabeus.

I think I just talked about this. Who cares if we're off topic? If you like the original topic so much, post something interesting about it.

I don't care much, but it's valid.

Indubitably because the getup has a severe case of Tryhardis Wannabeus. Particularly the model wearing it. Seriously, he's a pale guy with dreadlocks.

....But, hey, I can go for that kinda plot too. Mmmmm~<3

Edit: But still, I really want a female version of the male cast set from this scratch. I feel like that'd transfer over a lot better than Dista...

Give guys that one skimpy bikini. Just give me the male training swimwear in return? Thanks.

Oh and give the males that green new dress in the scratch if I can have that Volka outfit.

Edit: But still, I really want a female version of the male cast set from this scratch. I feel like that'd transfer over a lot better than Dista...I wouldn't complain about having more male parts made female, I guess I'd just prefer the more unique ones like ベイバレル and ゴウボイド sets. Doing the reverse might be harder though. :/
