Nothing new to these scans, and no new information, but they do offer a much better look at what's coming up in the next scratch. And yes, that is 2 colored Striped hair. (Originally I thought it was some kind of accessory - it's not)

Looks accurate to me.

it's accurate but the aesthetic is lost

the 2D one looks edgy and much cooler imo

the 3D looks like a cheap one piece made from clay

i know it's the transition from 2D to 3D but could've put some black lines to at least separate the skirt and shirt, making seam lines more visible...etc

then again, just my dumb complains stem from my own sense

I guess contrary to my expectation others are rather pleased with this design eh...

Nah recent poly counts and texture detail seems to have gone down. The last good scratch in my memory was the Shining one.

Prisma Ilya, Guilty Gear and Fairy Tail also look pretty cheap imo.

Almost anything cool, or with potential loses its edge when translated to PSO2. I just come to accept/expect that when I see the trailers. Doesn't help my perception when I didn't have high hopes, or plans to use it in the first place, so 'pleased' isn't a word that fits me. Try 'indifferent'. Also, I inherently hate collabs for numerous reasons which include being lame in multiple ways.

Weird considering the original magia savior's texture quality is utter shit compared to its recolors.

Seriously, if SEGA put more effort into their own original creations, we wouldn't get such cheap imitations every other scratch. There's more originality and detail in a single costume contest than SEGA's fashion designers can come up with in a year...

Not enough polygons.

Not enough polygons.

Why do I suddenly get the feeling that may be the reason this is why some of the better designs from the costume contest get scrapped...?

Maybe it isn't the designers, but possibly, the engine is so shit, they can't do outfits much justice with it.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Some designs are just way too complex and they get denied.

I usually don't pay attention to costumes, but I remember being disappointed with FOmar and FOmarl costumes for being plain instead of having different layers of clothes, it made it look very very cheap and lazy.

Sega is doing low poly models for toasters and for easy adaptation into handheld devices. If you have to blame something, blame the evil that is PSVita

It looks like a faithful rendition to me. All of the outfit's details are represented, if not fully articulated. I honestly don't see what you guys are seeing, aside from perhaps the slight discoloration, but it's a scan of a picture in a magazine. It's probably one of the better collab outfits they've implemented (not saying much, but still). On a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is Selvaria's replicas and 1 is Gilgamesh's armor, I give this...7.

PSOW problems : "why are all the outfits so ugly and low poly?! F' Sega has terrible designers!", "why are lobbies so laggy and doesn't run great on my 5 year old laptop?!!"

Bro, do you MMO?

One day we might get a collab scratch where the haircuts don't look like moulded plastic. Also where is my black and blue colour variant of the VFD Samurai outfit? They just had to change the trim colour on the black version for no good reason...

Eh, looks alright to me as for the face Sega did what they could to make it match the art.

^Plus, Sega recently like to add the physic of Magia Savior's tailskirt (or whatever you call it xD) to many of the other outfits' skirts, long skirts, miniskirts, etc. Thus making them float VERY easily (It's very cool on Magia Savior or any coat outfits, but skirts? Not so much. All those pantyshots really disinterest me =w=)

Hope this outfit didn't fall victim to Sega's pantyshot fetish lol.

Eh, the costume looks fine to me but maybe that's just because i don't set the bar too high since there's no such good quality costume on PSO2.
The only thing that they fucked real hard was the hairstyle.

It's the lighting that's making it look wrong I guess, but it doesn't really look good in the first place.

Now that you mention it...
._.

Anyway, that outfit looks not bad as art but pretty bad as ingame costume, but that is tot be expected.
Should have been obvious from the start that this isn't gonna look very good.

Also, if you think the art > pso2 ingame graphics conv ersion is bad, just take a look at WoW concept art and then at the game's graphics.

The heavy bloom of the environment they took the picture in doesn't do it justice, there probably is some distinction between jacket and skirt but since it's white and they're in a heavily lit area with bloom turned to max (sans decent shadows) it's difficult to see, but that's just my guess.

HAHAHAHAHA!
Why dont you go play 7th dragon on the 3DS if u like the low resolution outfit better and without any sort of physics instead of whining about everything on PSO2...
Dont like it dont play it simple as that!

Sad how the original 7thD version is more detailed but not far-fetched.

Only cause it's a a crisp pixelated screenshot vs the shopped and blurred picture in a magazine.

yes

that is what I'm trying to say

that outfit looks much better than the pso2 collab even with low resolution

reason is because of the aesthetic of the costume. Don't you see the 7th dragon one has much, much clearer seam lines, sharp edges. A clear distinction between folds and parts.

unlike that piece of high resolution pillow in pso2?

It's minor but that's what makes or break a design

KLMS1
Nov 7, 2015, 08:11 AM
Personally I'd reserve judgement 'till a screenie that *isn't* bloomed into a fuzzy mush. Don't think they could have picked much more awful lighting for that one, you can't even tell where the blazer ends and the skirt begins.

The original one doesnt even have physics nor bloom nor reflections, but i guess the 800x200 texture resolution static one is better than what we will have on PSO2...
Dont like it dont use it or simply dont play the game, i like the superior pso2 version and others like it too...

The 3ds one looks more appealing, yes.
The problem is PSO2 in-game doesnt look great. Poor lighting and shaders, etc.
That's going to change with Episode 4, so just sit tight and wait.
