View Full Version : JP PSO2 Translated Titles? Plugins? AIDA HELP I AM SO CONFUSED

AIDA
Nov 21, 2015, 10:51 AM
Thanks to the great work of Variant/Cyberkitsune, we've gotten titles translated. Not only that, but the next update to the Tweaker (rolling out in a few minutes) will debut the plugin system (which sadly does not have a gundam 00 reference because they threatened to kill me if I called it the GN Drive system). The first (and only publicly available) plugin will be the title translation plugin. \ o /

[SPOILER-BOX]http://aida.moe/puush/Op2i.png[/SPOILER-BOX]

[SPOILER-BOX]http://aida.moe/puush/4FW6.png[/SPOILER-BOX]

A new menu will be added to the Tweaker near the Options/PSO2 Options area. Checkmark the plugin(s) you want to use, uncheck the ones you don't. Easy peezy! We will also be adding support for homebrew plugins, so people can make their own! We don't have many details on that right now, but we'll have more news on it soon :)

The item translation will soon be converted into a plugin in this fashion. We also have a pretty exciting plugin on the way - A damage parser, so you can actually prove that certain ways of playing are more efficient. Get ready to stroke that e-peen!

I'm sure I missed a bunch of titles because I'm tired as hell and have to get ready for work. If you see any untranslated titles, don't worry! They'll be fixed when I get home and have time.

Please post comments/issues about the Plugin system (and the plugins) here. Thanks, and enjoy!

We just need title descriptions translated, and we're good to go.

Yeah, about that, the smartassembly message coming up more or less means you're irrevertably screwed. I tried to open the tweaker again, and it instantly gave me the message.

Okay, maybe i could install the original version, but meh.

It looks good. When you can fix that bug, it will be awesome.

My questions are: why did you created the plugin system? What are your plans on that matter?

Unfortunately I knocked out while AIDA was putting this up, so I didn't get a chance to mention the following things:

It's a method to load multiple things we work on conveniently (it just makes PSO2 load EVERY DLL in the Plugins folder)
The core DLL provides an interface to the game's received packet handler, effectively making it like a local PSO2 Proxy without the need for editing a hosts file
The ultimate goal is for people to take advantage of this given what we currently know about the game's packets itself, and do things like translation or analysis, or who knows what people would think up
I do plan to expand the hook to more things (already got the game's LUA pipe, possibly visual functions to control what assets get loaded, the archive loader to more easily find game resources, etc...)
It works in the same way as HardLight's Ark's Mod Tool (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230144) in the sense that it provides a way to modify the game without triggering GG (as a result, it will not work with it)

My own personal goal for developing this from the start was so I could develop a damage parser for the game. Currently the analysis that people have done to figure out mechanics is done really inefficiently (because there was no other choice there for tracking damage except hit/record/repeat). Title translations (and moving item translations over to this method) was more of an afterthought that I believe AIDA brought up.

I did suggest leaving every plugin except the current item translator off by default due to the nature of the Plugin, as I'm sure some people would much rather prefer to not use it since it does bypass one of GG's checks, and accesses data that SEGA clearly wanted to obfuscate, but at the least I purposely left out the ability to 'send' packets because I believe that just receiving packets is good enough for most (if not all) legit uses.

Awesome!

Although surely you see that little detail about Ark's Mod Tool:

Have you talked with HardLight about that? In the sense he either rewrites his tool as a plugin or you guys work together on a solution about it. You know people will want their Ark's Mod Tool (is good stuff), and i don't think they'll be willing to let it go easily...

Yeah, in reality on his end there are a few things he can change. Making it a plugin isn't even necessary really, he can keep it the way it is and just not do the bypass and it'll work with the system.

It's too bad you can't tag people on forums.

That's... I mean it's possible to do, but wasn't planned by any means. The music is handled completely differently than the packets.

I thought that there was already a solid understanding of the music format in this game and what files everything is in? Not sure, I've never looked into it tbh.

I just remember this one time someone gave us a file on here that changed skyland music to the darker nest, but there was a side effect that forest music was changed into dark falz elder music.

Is the item translation working for you? Take a look in your pso2_bin/Plugins folder and see if the Title Translator DLL is there (and not in disabled).

If you're getting DLL Errors/Connection timeouts, please install http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679#, reboot, and try again. Thanks!

Also, about the damage parser - Here's a sample log from me fighting some level 1 creatures on Nab:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1txpRUozfLzI8ovgiPASUMbTpKvyupqcMeQ0p1rBFTO8/pubhtml

The next time I want to do is make it so you just drop that file into the Tweaker, and it makes a nicely formatted log that you can share, calculates the DPS, etc.

So, pso2h.dll automatically creates the log when it initiates, so if it's not, then it means it isn't being loaded. Will need to bug AIDA about that one.

For those of you wondering how the parser itself works, it dumps every single number you would see normally (+ some you probably wouldn't), it does work for every player on the same map (whether they're in your party or not), though sometimes the game doesn't give all the numbers, so it's probs best to be near the person you're testing with.

Also, by parser, the parser (ACT plugin) itself isn't actually working 100% yet >_>, I'll post more about that when the plugin is released. The plugin just dumps damage to a CSV file in this format:

timestamp, instanceID, sourceID, sourceName, targetID, targetName, attackID, damage, IsJA, IsCrit, IsMultiHit, IsMisc, IsMisc2

Timestamp - Unix Timestamp, you can google it. It's just here to keep things in order.

Instance ID - Unique to the particular instance you're in, it won't change within the same quest

Source ID - Either a player's ARKS ID, or a generated monster ID (unique within the instance)

Source Name - Obvious.

Target ID - Same type as Source ID

Target Name - Obvious

Attack ID - It's unique to every attack you do, but it's just an ID, I don't have the names for everything yet.

Damage - Obv.

IsJA - 1 if Just Attack, 0 if not

Is Crit - 1 if Critical, 0 if not

Is MultiHit - I think this is only true for like... Gunner and Ranger PAs, so I guess I should rename this

IsMisc - Flag gets set to true for healing, damage from the stage, and some other random things

IsMisc2 - I think Zanverse uses this

For a preview of my shitty job at writing an ACT plugin:

Did you install the x86 one?

Actually - I already have all of the redistributables installed before the new tweaker update was released. So I got a tip from the FB Group to just install the x86 versions so I did this.

1. Uninstall both x86 and x64.
2. Restart PC
3. Install only x86 (redownloaded from the link AIDA provided)
4. Restart PC
5. Run Tweaker
6. Run Game

Still the same error.

EDIT: Also - I'm having two thoughts of removing the x64 ones since I have a number of games that are running in 64-bit that needs them. So I just tested this method (mentioned above) to see if Tweaker will work with the 64-bit ones removed.

EDIT2: So yes, I tried running some of my games which are 64-bit - they won't run since I removed the 2012/2013 x64 versions. Reinstalling them made them work.

Games I'm mentioning are...
Ark Survival Evolved
Assetto Corsa
Project CARS

x64 shouldn't matter at all for this. You'll need the x86 ones for sure because PSO2 is a 32-bit application.

Though, I'm actually pretty sure you'll also be fine if you like... drop "msvcr100.dll" into your pso2_bin directory. Eh, this should work: https://www.dropbox.com/s/siy2ywq6tynp1rj/msvcr100.rar?dl=0

Hi AIDA,

first of all thank you very much for all the work you've done.
The PSO2 Tweaker is a awesome tool and it worked great until your last update.

The Tweaker v.3.0.5.7 says "All Done" but the item translation doesn't work with this version for me.
Your new Plugin for the title translation doesn't work too, by the way :)
If I use the older version the item translation works fine.

What about a plugin to check mpa's DPS at teleporter LMAO.

Like full ata potential of the party plus the presence or not of RA or TE. Then throw some sort of Rank after adding to that value levels, weps and affixes, and subtracting Another History and Lucky Rise affixes or crappy classes combos such as hufo

I'm still having problems even after the latest tweaker update. I have to revert proxy back to jp to connent. If I try with a proxy it gives server timed out message.
And my items are not being translated along with a few other things, like the name of blocks.Translate items is checked. And the titles also still are not being translated. That plug-in is also checked.

I'm on windows 10, I installed the plug in the tweaker said to install. Don't know what's going wrong.

The game already has a feature that tells you what class the people in your MPA are. Everything else is contributing to the end of the world.

I tried. I'm pretty bad at it though.

No way to reverse engineer another plugin and re-purpose it for PSO2? Say, XIVs? Might be easier than starting from scratch.

Not much point. FFXIV logs are different than PSO2 logs, I posted a link to my GitHub repo for the ACT plugin above. I'm just really bad and it doesn't work in real time properly. Most of ACT's functionality is available though (the graphs, breakdowns, etc...).

Also need to make it show JA %, and possibly some other flags if I can find them (I still haven't figured out if there's a way to tell if the hit is an 'elemental weakness' hit).

Karma is being a hero and mapping Attack IDs to skills, once that's finished I'll probably get this DLL working properly so it lists names instead of numbers if they're available.

Just a heads-up about the titles, it seems that only a handful of them are translated. most of the titles still have to be changed over.

Currently the only titles there are the ones on Cirno
being that there are 1005 as of 11/11/2015, it's a wee bit out of date.
As with items, some of the words don't translate well, so it's not a google translate job unfortunately.

dont suppose any of you guys on the plugin team know about the whole good client bad client issue or what even causes it in the 1st place? (the whole the game has variable performance on startup deal.. usually bad stutter without the good client)

example is in this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaNsKvaODlI"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaNsKvaODlI

still wonder if this issue can be fixed or if we really do have to wait on sega for ep4 and see if that fixes it? (also dont be try to be that smartass coming in here saying oh it doesnt affect me because nobody cares due to this being a real issue)

Uh. Well I gave AIDA a new set of files that I think probably may work on XP without needing to worry about installing the vcredist...

At the least, my PSO2 XP VM didn't crash because of missing DLLs? Not the most common test case, iunno.

Im still getting the same error after installing today's update, sadly =(

For me, all I see that are translated are the character titles, when you hit a level with a certain class. Everything else, more or less, are still in moonrunes. Just wanted to point that out, in case anyone things that they think that the title translator isn't working.

Actually, I took a look at it for a little bit. It's easy to see the difference if you know what you're looking for, but it's hard to narrow it down to a source. I'd like to just say it's because SEGA does weird multi-threaded resource management things that lead to non-deterministic results, but meh, it's weird and I'm not even sure how to approach looking for the source given what we've got right now.

I avoided clicking on this post on Reddit because I thought it was some guy whining in public in a misguided attempt to contact AIDA.

Only once I saw here that AIDA themselves posted it, was I like 'Wait, what?'

You should be a little more concise in your titles, AIDA.

We also have a pretty exciting plugin on the way - A damage parser, so you can actually prove that certain ways of playing are more efficient. Get ready to stroke that e-peen!

it gives the same error window i mentioned before, this happens when i click "launch PSO2"

the error window shows up twice (after i click "accept" it just pops again), then all the vids (sega logo, nvidia, intro) load properly, i select ship normally, but when i try to log, it gives an instant "server conection timeout"

And of course my net is running smoothly, and i had 0 problems before the update (630-chan has visited me like, twice on over 1000 hours of playtime)

Dunno what else to add, but i'll provide any detail you may need to nail a solution

and thanks again for caring :3

Do you have a file in there called pso2h.log (if so, gimme the contents)? And is the last modified date being updated whenever you start the game?

This is what happened to me, reverting proxy to jp allows me to log In, but if I try to use a proxy this happens.
And once in game items names and block names are not translated, can't figure out why.
I downloaded the tweaker again and didn't do the update and I can log in fine and items are translated. So something in the new tweaker update is messing me up.

Alright, so the plugins are probably conflicting with the proxy, I'll need to look into it a bit more.

Thanks guys, didn't expect that to be an issue, let me look into it.

All damage done to players (including heals) is spitting out an instance ID of 0.

(targetName=player)

EDIT: Thanks very much for this tool. It's fun. Just ran a PD and used it as a test run. It will be very useful for personal damage testing and comparing my own performance against others.

Took a bit to set up the presentation, but it's easy now.

I blocked out the names.

I was thinking it might've been bugged and tracked my damage higher or something, so I checked another run. I just did a bunch of Magatsu, here's the last of the four kills (which to be honest, I did mess up quite a bit on).

http://i.imgur.com/Yi7jkQ2.png

I couldn't track the damage on the last form (with the gundams) because everyone shows up Unknown in the damage log. :( We have different source IDs, but I have no idea who is who.

For purposes like this, should I bother blocking out the names? Not sure if it's taboo or not.

The main reason it's nice is that before, you really had no clue how good you were doing. You could kinda get a feel for it, but even that was just guessing.

Now I have actual data, which can help me know what I'm doing right and doing wrong.

there's no file with that name on the tweaker folder, nor on the PSO folder, the most similar would be one called just "logfile"

I know you detected that the problem may be a conflict with the proxy thx to Natasdrol post, i'll leave the content of that file just in case

Pull out your calculator. :)

No, I already whipped something up real quick that will calculate it all for you. If people want it, I can share it, will just take a few minutes to get it ready for publicity. It's nothing super fancy, but it gets the job done pretty easy, at least until something much fancier comes around.

Heres a quick way to tally the damage using spreadsheet/excel while you wait for ^ to publish the thing:
Filter the playerID out.
Assume column A is recorded Damage, column B is where you will store total damage, row 1 contains nothing:
On B2 put in =B1+A2, then click-drag the bottom right thing to autofill the whole column B, the number at the end should be the total damage. (copy-paste works too)

Also ... with this plugin .......
Zanverse's the best damage dealer on Magatsu (50%+ damage from my GuRa ;w; Yay for support role though ._. ). The only one can compete real close / maybe deal more depends on Zanverse is BrGu ._.

Alright, so the plugins are probably conflicting with the proxy, I'll need to look into it a bit more.

Thanks guys, didn't expect that to be an issue, let me look into it.

I finally found the culprit - and my frustration made me look stupid on this one.

The new ddraw.dll that the new PSO2 Tweaker is generating is having a conflict with any tools that also uses the DirectDraw.

In which in any case for me is the D3DGear v.4.98 - I tried playing PSO2 now on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit where I haven't installed D3DGear but everything worked as seen on the screenshots.

But after installing D3DGear - the Dynamic Error Link regards the DirectDraw pops out again. So I uninstalled D3DGear to see if it works again and it sure did.

I hope you can make the entire plugins compatible with D3DGear cause its the only recording tool I'm using at the moment.

Also the Kernel Library Error is related to Geforce Experience.

I hope this helps pinned down the fixes you've been planning on the next update!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11evg6jRO_8Zs7SeyGy9ucvtbrXTmvXMCSbAPWkX0hZQ/edit#gid=909738948&vpid=A1

I whipped this up real quick. It could be a bit fancier, and things could break, but it's working good for me. If we get some more data or some of the bugs get corrected (like damage dealt to players) I could potentially add more to it if desired. It also could still use some polish.

Follow the instructions on the left of the sheet (or below) to use it. Going to sleep for now, I hope it helps.

Instructions:

1) Make a copy of this by doing File -> Make a Copy.

2) Go to the CSV file tab at the bottom, and do File -> Import. Upload your CSV file, and choose to replace the Current Sheet.

3) Back on the first tab, you will see a list of Instance IDs available. Type one in at the top to see all the damage dealt in that instance.

Enjoy, I hope it helps until something better comes along.

-Crevox

NOTE: If your CSV file gets too big, it might start to go slow to try to import it. Consider cleaning out the file.

Oh you're a hero for figuring that out. Thanks, let me see what I can do. It probably won't be on this next update though.

Edit:

Oh, it's because D3DGear uses ddraw as a proxy as well. Hm.... not much I can easily do about that... It shouldn't have been working before though, we always used ddraw to load the item translator DLL as well.

The GeForce Experience error I'll need to look into though, I thought that was just because people were on windows XP/Vista.

If you restart the game, I believe it creates a new one for you.

Alternatively, you can run a text editor like notepad++ in administrator mode and just clear out the file except for the top header. That should work, just might have to clear out the garbage characters in the file at the top (it's just one line) when you go to upload it. Both methods worked for me.

I have not tried to delete it with the game running, but that might kill the top header. The Google Doc will still work fine, but it ignores the top line of the file (because it should be the header), so you'll be missing 1 line of damage.

Both of the first two methods have worked for me. If you really want to just clean it out, you can just delete it with the game closed and that will work for sure.

Until there's a better way (like a reset button or something), my above post and that will be the only ways that I can think of.

Uh, theoretically if you go around parading your sweet deeps, you might get in trouble.

They'd catch you using this the same way they would catch you using the item patch, and that would be if GG wrote home about what was modifying memory. I can't guarantee what SEGA will do, so I can say 'Use at your own risk', but at the very least take solace in knowing that if this is what you get banned for, I'll get banned for it too.

Also, the damage dumper literally just writes to one file per game session (new file every time you restart). It might be file-locked while it's being written to, but if you can clear everything in it using NP++ or something, it won't break things.

Yeah, this is what I did. It worked fine, but when it started writing new lines, it left behind a line of garbage (bad escape sequences or something) on the line it started off at again.

After I deleted that, it was fine.

EDIT: No, it's working perfectly fine. The glitch occurring at the moment that assigns incorrect instance IDs is preventing this from happening. If targetName is ever a player, the instance ID is incorrectly assigned.

Either way, thank you for bringing it to my attention. I fixed it for the future. The spreadsheet has been updated, and you'll have to make a new copy when that issue is resolved to avoid this from happening.

So my pc at home must have something running that's conflictting with the new tweaker update. Anyone know how I can go about finding what it is? Using the old tweaker til figure out the promblem.

Translation data is all in binary files anyway, so it'd just be replacing the binary files with french translated versions, you'd want to talk to AIDA about that (isn't there a multilingual project for this game already?).

Why is this damage parser thing enabled in PSO2 Tweaker by default?

What's this pso2h.dll? It doesn't have any description.

Eh the enabled by default thing I'm not sure.

The pso2h.dll does two things:
1. It loads all the plugins (DLL files) in the Plugins folder
2. Provides an interface into some data from PSO2, eventually the goal is to have it provide information for other people to use to write convenient tools (e.g. the damage parser was one)

Note that #2 isn't enabled unless there's a plugin that even needs that information, so if you only have like 'translator.dll', it's effectively identical to how the old ddraw -> translator.dll worked before.
