Could someone help me? I have been trying to download PSO2 for a while, and I got to the 5000+ mark, but now I keep getting Error 12002. I am using the normal updater (Mostly because the Tweaker keeps attempting to redownload the entire patch instead of the last few files, and it also has problems with constantly stopping the download, making me have to restart it each time.) Would someone be able to help me?

(Also, note to the admins, if there is no Help section for PSO2, I would suggest adding one. If there is one, please move this thread to it.)

The update was going fine up until I got to the 5000+ mark, then it started giving me Error: 12002 constantly.

Have you tried any VPN yet? Also check firewall, data quota, and ports

I don't think it is me not using a VPN, because I can get a few files (not over 100, though) before getting the error. And I don't think it is the ports either, since I was able to almost finish the download. (To be honest, I doubt it would be any of those, considering that, as I said, it almost finished.) Should I still try a VPN to finish the download? And are there any ports I should open up for the updater? (If so, what ports should I open up and of what port type?)

Try again with VPN then, and note that antivirus might also be the cause. I only get this error when losing connection.

I don't have any antivirus. (All the good ones are expensive.) Also, what ports should I open up to see if it helps?

So I tried a VPN, and it did not work. What ports should I open to see if it helps?

Well, you should do some network check, like pings, traceroute. Since you can download normally before error occurs, which means, around that files range, server stops responding or your connection is timed out

So I did a speed test with the closest server for my internet provider. 126 ping, 2.53 Mbps download and 0.72 Mbps upload.

do it with JP servers

Ping 190, download speed 2.83 Mbps, upload speed 0.74 Mpbs

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Try the basic IT things (ie. Flush your DNS, restart your router, modem, and network card), as sometimes that can help with timeout errors.
Also, when you were using the Tweaker to download, how were you doing it ("Install Phantasy Star Online 2," "Check for PSO2 Updates (New Method)," "Check for PSO2 Updates")?

"Check for PSO2 Updates" both new and old methods.

"Check for PSO2 Updates" both new and old methods.
Try using the "Check for Old/Missing Files" option from the Troubleshooting menu (it runs a filecheck first, then downloads missing files), and see if that changes anything.

I will try that after I try the normal updater with a JP VPN

Also, for the tweaker, is there a specific place I need to put it? Because the website for it didn't specify that part.

Since it creates some files that it needs to run, it's best to just put it in its own folder, preferably somewhere outside of the Program Files folder; I, for example, have it in a folder in My Documents with a shortcut to the .exe on my Desktop.

Also, checking for new/missing files will just download the last 5000+ files I need, correct?

It should, yes. However, keep in mind that the initial patch after an install for the game is 20GB+, and your final game size should end up at about 30GB.

My current file size is about 27.8 GBs

Also, is there a way to make the Tweaker auto-restart the download if it suddenly stops?
