What exactly are the new graphics? I've seen plenty of Ep4 videos already and the game looks the same to me ^^;

Nope, they will be released on PC when PS4 version is released.

They're planning to release the new Benchmark/Character Creator program that will include the new esthe update and new graphic setting level 6 in the near future.

Not that hyped about the cheapo filters we can expect from next update, tbh.

At least, it should be better than most resource hogging after effects from drivers and without artifacts.

AutumnChronicle

Really hope they're at least planning to do a high-res texture update. Adding new filters won't really make a dramatic change when the texture themselves are pretty crappy for today's standards.

Problem is that improving textures in this type of game would lead to a 90~120GB install in a blink. Game is already taking over 30GB with those crappy textures everywhere.

Hundreds of costumes and weps is unbearable, but they should revamp fields and backgrounds at least. Those Tokyo shots look exactly the same as City EQ 4 years later.

they really just have to fix fingers before anything, make them separate part and freeze them so it doesn't affect existing physics. then slowly add new LA for that

They're adding normal mapping to the textures, so it adds more depth/3D to the textures:wacko: plus some blur, bloom and light effects enhancements, that's basically what they're adding with tier 6, so it'll probably be a big update but not to the point of making your game taking 90-120 GB :-P, maybe 50 GB.

Nothing they add can beat SGSSAA and HBAO+ for sheer quality, however.

Actually, aside from the terrain normal mapping (which is going to be a HUGE improvement for places like the subterranean tunnels), the brighter photon blades, and the character lighting changes, most of what they're doing is stuff we can already do. If only Radeonpro let me add Gaussian bloom...

Btw, this is what the coast looks like with my settings (and Arks Mod Tool):

And if they just stop using gameguard, then we can use Reshade with it's more robust effect, compared to Sweetfx through RadeonPro

Oh I already use Nvidia Inspector to pretty up my game a bit.

That still doesn't solve the low polygon count, shit texture quality, low draw distance, etc etc.

Some of the textures in this game look straight out of the PSX days lmao.

Like the pioneer2 team room...OMG that looks terrible. I think the GameCube version looked nicer than that.

Also, why aren't there any ini tweaks for this game like there is for Skyrim?

In Skyrim a lot of the game's bad stuff can be fixed via ini tweaks. Everything from projectile distance all the way to the way lighting works.

PSO2 has an ini file too, yet there are no tweaks for it.

Comparing it to Skyrim is unfair as there are literally no games out there that match its raw modding potential. In other words, everything looks bad next to modded Skyrim (http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/110/images/18941-1-1381809049.jpg). It's just one of those things.

yeah those pictures look blurry as hell. It's kinda ugly.

It's the AA setting he's using that causes that. I use that AA style but my game doesn't look as blurry.

Combined AA is the best AA option but broken with 1080p resolution. From my understanding you need a 1440p monitor. I've never got that dyamic scale resolution stuff to work.

Lavendy found an AA bit that fixes the jaggled tiles at a distance without the need for SGSS. It's 0x004018C5

Do you mean on this section of Inspector? [SPOILER-BOX]https://a.uguu.se/amckbv_NVIDIA_Inspector_1.9.7.3_-_GeForce_361.43_-_Profil_2016-01-13_21-48-27.png[/SPOILER-BOX]

No amount of tweaking or lighting or fx or anything will fix the main problem. Tiny texture sizes.
I swear some clothes look like the texture is 32x32 or so. Lots of environment textures look like they were directly recycled from a PSX game and not to mention that most plants are practically 2 dimensional.

Overall the game looks like a PS2 game at the worst times and like a 1st gen PS3 game at the best of times.

You sure you don't have texture size set to low?
There's a setting somewhere that makes the textures so ridiculously small and blurry it looks awful.

Anyway, the problem I often complained about was inconsistent texture resolutions.
It's annoyingly jarring having some sharp detailed thing next to some blurry pile of shit.

The tools exist, but people are really funny about sharing them. In regards to an HD mod in particular, AIDA said they'd help people out with making that.

Regardless, you won't see any of that until after EP4's graphical update comes out since there's not much point in working on that kind of thing until the regular texture set is finalized.

Skyrim is 12 gigs in it's vanilla state. This is with all the DLC I have the legendary edition and the official high res texture pack.

With all of my mods it's 23 gigs haha ^_^ All those re-texture's. I think i've re-textured like atleast 90% of the game. So many vanilla textures suck so bad.

I wonder why pso2 is so big? It doesn't seem like it has 30gigs of content...
