View Full Version : Your age in PSO2

So, originally we all thought that the anime would just be about some kids playing PSO. Well, that may still be true, we also know that the kids playing PSO2 takes place in the same universe as our PSO2, around the time of episode 4, as we can see in this picture. [SPOILER-BOX]http://puu.sh/mn6AV.jpg[/SPOILER-BOX]
That said, we also know it's supposed to take place on our Earth in the year 2028, which allows us to know exactly when PSO2 takes place on our timeline.

This got me thinking about my age in relation to characters in the story, and off the top of my head, Aki is the only one around my age: 30 in 2028, give or take a few years. I also came to the realization that a large number of the characters are still just kids right now.

What are your thoughts about how you compare to the cast of the game or the anime?

2028.....That would made my main's age close to Huey pre-timeskip; while the male CAST would be close to Maria in age I guess?

For myself, I would be older than Casra on 2028, even after their time-skip. Still younger than the the oldest 3 ARKS on the ship though (Jean, Maria, and Regius. Well technically Luther would be even older than Regius, but he's not on the ARKS Ship at the moment for obvious reason).

This is the reason why I mainly use Siera (I got the name first SEGA) as my main character for story quests. He's initially 17 at the start of EP1 and compared to my other characters (who are more or less around my age), he's the most believable one to actually be an ARKS rookie at the start.

I don't really think it matters too much.
Even if we compare A.P. 241 to 2028 AD...

My story mode character, who was born in A.P. 220 (I think?), always fit in with the rest of the cast.

Mary was 7,267 years old when i designed her in CBT way back when. Lots of proper oil changes and lube jobs help+^_^+

Anyway, i'll be 39 years old in 2028 A.D.

Assuming between the end of ep3 and start of ep4 is two years or so, when it starts nina would be 29~30, the thought of her running around with a bunch of 16~18 year old brats is amusing to say the least tho. in 2028 i would be 37 - now thats a scary thought

Technically speaking you don't actually age in cryosleep though. Chronological age =/= biological age when that kind of ultra-tech gets involved. (Also last I looked most ARKS field ops seemed to be late teens to mid-twenties or older, which makes sense enough for what are basically career soldier-explorers.)

True that, but for simplicitys sake I included it anyway 'cus on any offical record it'd include the two years extra for age anyway :P

Pretty sure a society with that kind of Sufficiently Advanced Technology will make a point of keeping track of the difference actually.
And ofc "biological age" may be a complete nonissue with CASTs anyway, but the details of their conversion process are maddeningly vague.

I'd be about 38.

Milla would be 12 based on the ingame callender.

EDIT: For those who haven't looked at the dates for story events and stuff, it's only been about a year in-universe since the start of the story. Add another year to that and you get 2 years and about 2 or 3 months.

EDIT: For those who haven't looked at the dates for story events and stuff, it's only been about a year in-universe since the start of the story.

Specifically, the first scene of Ep 1 (the "final exam" on Nab) is dated "A.P. 238 2/20" and the final scene of Ep 3 (Eu & Aurora after MBD Demise) is "239 5/15" so yeah, about a year and two months.

Incidentally I find the dating relatively clever in that it largely avoids the kinds of numbers that'd imply too much about the calendar system used.

I'd be 39 D:

Too old for ARKSing around, I hope they have a good retirement benefit. Based on Jean though I'd say they don't :P

Think of it this way: you may be old enough to qualify for becoming CAST MASTER RACE

Meh, the biotech of the setting ought to have little trouble delaying the onset of senescence for a very long time. Probably inherited the know-how wholesale from the Photoners anyway.

I would be 33 and hopefully have time for whatever PS game we may or may not have then.

My character would have just hit 21 if I'm not calculating the timeskip wrongly. Come to think of it, it's kinda weird how all the female characters written to be so into you if your character is middle-aged or older (assuming your character is a dude).

Also, if people want to have comparison of ages to some ARKS personel, PSO2 EP1&2 Materials Collection revealed the ages of some key personel of ARKS (I don't know whether this was already posted before or not, so do pardon if this was already a well-known fact).

Quna is 16 years old
Regius is 73 years old
Maria is 70 years old
Casra is 30 years old
Zeno is 24 years old
Claris Claes (the third one) is 16 years old
Huey is 25 years old.

I'd be 42 in 2028 which terrifies me

Most of my characters would be mid to late 20's with the exception of my Cast who would only be 14 or so (as she's meant to have been made from scratch, not a biomech like some PSO2 casts are). She looks more like mid twenties though.

If Teika makes a re-appearance in Ep4 she'd be about 27.

I would be 35. Meanwhile... Luca will be 19 in Episode 4. Mazarin will be 22 and Pyrope will be 26. Then again, I could decide to retcon one or more of them into being older at some point.

(as she's meant to have been made from scratch, not a biomech like some PSO2 casts are)

I'm told canonically all CASTs are converted from organics, though whether full-body cyborgs or personality uploads was never specified. :/
Not that either procedure had a minimum age limit an sich mind you, though I'm guessing uploading a too half-baked a brain would have all KINDS of issues down the road...

34 IRL by 2028.

CAST dun aged although they have age (referring to game). I might convert myself into CAST if 2028 really got an interstellar organization has that facility though.

My characters have aged slightly over the years. My original HUmar and FOnewearl were 19 and 18 respectively, back when I was 19-ish. Now I'm 30, and my characters have aged to about 25 and 24. My third character, a RAcaseal, was technically only a few years old but mentally a young teen. She has changed the most between her PSO, PSU, and PSO2 incarnations, to her current state of a wild older teen comparable to a late high schooler.

Of course, I have no regard for actual timelines between games. As far as I'm concerned my characters exist in their own timeline. And being 30 now, that would make me 43 in 2028. And I'll still be a Hunter, I'm gonna be like Jean someday; an old bastard who just can't quit.

Is there an established life expectancy in universe? I doubt a space faring genetic altering species hasn't figured out how to lengthen their life spans.

Not that I've heard of. Jean's apparently 52 and looks rather old, but then again he could just be weathered from decades of tromping about varyingly hostile environments (and critters)...
