I Normally only lock things when I noticed I haven't locked them. I'm assuming Rio was just doing things in the moment and didn't really get a chance to lock it. Don't worry Rio, that rod went to a good cost. The Recyle Shop guy doesn't get rare blessings often like you just gave him

I once upgraded a *11 weapon to +10, only to realized that the said weapon was meant to be used as element fodder for the same weapon with better affix. The main weapon is locked and already in my inventory.

I have never actually npc'd/excubed/traded-for-passes any valuable weapons before.

HOWEVER...

Back in the day-day, when S-Roll GuHu and un-nerfed Guild Milla was king (and 5-Slotting was top shit), I decided to 10603'd a light-element GM I found and affixed it with Mizer/ShootIII/AbilityIII/SpiritaIII/Shoot-Boost; those combination of affixes were one of the best in those days. I decided, "You know what? Let's sell this sucker for 60M and make a massive profit... hahahaha." Licking my chops, I placed that beautiful son of a gun on the market, logged out, and went to bed. Next morning when I woke up, still half sleeping, I logged in to check the Visiphone. And what do I see? That instead of putting up GM for 60M, I accidentally put it up for 60k, and some lucky bastard bought it! Ouch! So yeah, I raged, punched walls, but oh well, stupid shit happens. Nowadays, I triple check every time I put something up for sale.

Lucky for you, what you converted was only worth 3M, thank God; it could've been worse.

You might be able to get an 11 star for cheap and resell it though.
But I don't think that's worth taking the risk anymore. Most people just get 12-13 stars. Note that you can't resell 12-13 stars.
