If anyone knows, outside of needing a JPN account. Will there be anything special needed to play the game when it releases? Reading it needs a JP IP address.

if people playing the ps4 beta are from the US, safe to assume its not IP blocked

You'll need a JP PSN to download, or just buy the physical edition. With the physical copy, you'll be able to use any PSN account, if you never already linked one, by playing the VITA version. The game isn't IP blocked.

Taiwan has no region lock.
Gamania(Tw's publisher) is too cheap to pay for that.

Thanks for all the responses. So another question is, is do I need to link my account I use on pc to the game or do I need a new one?

You can link it, it'll most likely be similiar ot the Vita version, with dedicated PS4 server, and shared server.

I highly doubt they'll lift the block if SEA PSO2 shuts down, though.

Question, what is SEA? And will you be able to use your PC account on PS4?

SEA is Southeast Asia, the region that got their own PSO2 and now isn't allowed on Japanese servers.

You are pretty much guaranteed to be able to use your old account on PS4, with how it can be shared with the Vita version and PSO2es.

SEA = South East Asia, and go back and read post #8 again.

Good, I just hear so many rumors, some saying you wont be able to use your PC account and I had a feeling SEA was around Asia but didn't know exactly, thanks!

But with the retail version, I assume you can use your PC char?

It's just going to use your characters tied to the PC account
Similar to how PC/Vita works now

Sega is more focused on their own domestic market.
