Man, must be great to have PC with monster-specs.

......Serious answer time, for the server care. This is important if the game are server-based and when the game's file size are huge.
So that the server can have a break, properly maintained, and game will run without much trouble......for the most part.
We don't want the server to go kaboom because the lack of proper care, right?

And to be complete fair here, there are times where SEGA skip their weekly maintenance.
Also do note that the maintenance notification on bumped are based on EST timezone; while the actual maintenance are based on JST timezone.
