Sony Computer Entertainment has announced a pair of Phantasy Star Online 2-themed PlayStation 4 models set to launch in Japan alongside the PlayStation 4 version on April 20.

The models include the Jet Black “ARKS Version” (available in 1TB or 500GB variations) and the Glacier White “Mascot Version” (available only in 500GB).

For 42,480 yen (1TB, ARKS-only) / 37,480 yen (500GB), the package will include:

A PlayStation 4 (1TB ARKS / 500GB ARKS / 500GB Mascot)
A DualShock 4
Phantasy Star Online 2 hard-drive bay cover
Phantasy Star Online 2 original design packaging
Monoaural headset
Power cord
HDMI cable
USB cable

You could always make a custom faceplate if you can get hold of the design, personally that's what I would do, but I can understand some people want to keep things official.

PS4s aren't region locked.
However, if you want to play/access online stuff from other regions, you'll need to make a PSN account for each of those regions.

Anyway, I'm so glad I don't care about merch.
There are probably a bunch of people who already have a PS4 but will buy this one just for the sake of having it.

Rumor has it that it's for developer only, not for consumer.
Either that or it's just a upgraded player, as there's no way for Sony to make a 4K capable device under the current price.
