View Full Version : JP PSO2 Horrible Samba De Amigo Music in Shop area

:-x
Is anybody else annoyed at the obnoxious Samba de Amigo music in the main shop area? When the hell is that going to stop and revert back to the normal music? :???:

I wish I could simply use a different lobby, but the shop area is the only one that has all of the necessary counters. It's making me not even want to play because of how horrible and repetitive that damn song is. Once again another stupid and idiotic move by Sega. Anybody know when this crappy music will end??

Sorry but that was really unhelpful. I asked when the event/music will end. I am well aware of the volume settings in video games. I don't want to mute the entire music track because the soundtrack to this game is AWESOME. I just don't want to hear that horrible Samba track...

Edit: Does anyone know when this event will be over? That's all I want to know.

I'm not good at english, so I hope you understand what I mean. :-)

I don't find any problem with the sound track. But I do have a problem when I need to keep playing the same field. :-( I got bored with the bgm. So I just turn the bgm off when I'm in certain quest and play my own music at the background, turn it back on, when I'm in the lobby or other places. Turning it on and off won't take me more than 5 seconds, so I don't find it troublesome.

To answer your first question. The day is shown in the official movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY9NNilz6nM

Each time whenever they change lobby, they will have description on when it end
so next time if you find a song annoying and want to know when it ends, you can go watch the movie :-)

also, the update after yamato is going to be wedding season, which means they are going to change the music again, and it is going to be repeat nonstop until 22th july ^^;

if you find the music annoying, maybe go to Franca 's Cafe, they only miss out the grind shop and the Analyze(?) shop. Just bear with it for a few minutes when you need to use it :-) it's not like you have item to grind or analyze everytime?

Though I understand the lyrics perfectly.
My problem with it is the Quality of the music.

I use my studio monitoring headset to listen to it and I wonder why that was even allowed to be put into the game.

I don't even know what the song is like since BGM is 100% off.

3000+ hours, lobby BGM only changes once every couple of months, and quests' stay the same. End up getting bored either way.

Silence is bliss.

But yeah I personally don't like this one, it gets repetitive most of the time (in a boring way) and I have no idea how this is related to the current lobby theme so it's kinda off.

I dunno. I felt like people are giving too much flak on the lobby song. Sure it gets tiring after a week or so. But if you do lots of things in the game, you should hear the song as little as possible......unless you're sitting all day in lobby. Or gambling your hardwork at Dudu/Monica.

And almost as if people forget that Franca's Cafe and Casino didn't follow the lobby's music.

I don't know about other people though, but for me it's not about the music being in the lobby. It's about the music itself being repetitive and boring to me regardless of it being in PSO2 or not.
My only comment related to PSO2 is that the music does not even match to the current event.

I don't mind the song.
I initially thought it was strange because I didn't see the relevance to Easter.

I usually have lobby BGM off anyway.
The worst track by far is that horrible "Falz is coming" track, trying desperately to sound sinister and looping relentlessly within a short period of time.

Without Easter, there would not be Carnaval  in any case, Easter was a month ago, and PSO2 was still with the White Day lobby, as every year, it's obvious they only care about their local festivities.

I had the game muted for the last few months because I didn't like the lobby music playing at those times.. forgot what they were now but it was the last 3. Vday, White Day, and whatever was before that.
When I found out Carnaval was playing in the lobby was when I unmuted the game.

Even quickly bought the disc to play in my room but...
...opa-opa also came out too so... I've been playing Fantasy(Phantasy) Zone musid in my room for now.
Maybe when the lobby music end, I'll change my room music to Carnaval for a while longer.

Uggggg. I'm glad you have the patience to enjoy that track long enough to listen to it for more than 5 seconds, but dear lord. I love me some PSO, truly, but I've never seen anyone like that track. I may be alone, but I prefer the snappiness of galenigare mines from PSU over that.

Honestly I used to blame the track too.
I've passed out playing PSO a few times when I was a kid.
One of them was because of the obvious that I stayed up way too long (let's just say over 24 hours) and passed out during a run in Ruins. People thought I somehow died as I was still there after a long time, lol.)
The rest of the times was from yes... lack of sleep OR at night before sleep and just dozing off while playing in Caves.
I honestly blame the map, the look of the map, and the length of the map usually. Then the music of the caves doesn't help how the map is set up.

Ruins also had 3 areas to go through, but even if you didn't know the map by heart, it had a pattern that was easy to follow. Caves felt like the going through the same area over and over again 1st in area 1... then 2 (Which was the only tolerable looking part of caves) and then of course 3.

Why are all caves in the series so ungodly boring?

CocoCrispy
May 5, 2016, 11:51 PM
The same reason why Big the Cat exists in a speedy platforming game.

Lmao and yes, I've also had my fair share of falling asleep in long pso runs in the past. Especially when me and some friends first unlocked ultimate. We just bum rushed through that pain train way underlevelled and it took literally hours to get to ruins. I think I passed out halfway in caves 2 and a few times in ruins in the safe zones as the force. Ahhh pso was some magical times!

Still blame that horrible, horrible choice of music in caves anyway. So boring. Ruins got me pumped but those gran sorcerers really wore your morale thin.

I actually like the original lobby music because its not always there. I miss the original lobby music from PSO-1. All of us in Puck 5 in a circle of photon chairs just doing our thing.....

All of those games where we beat Falz with 2 - 3 players, and when a fourth player appears one of us would say "Oh its already over" or "We beat this already" and players scrambling around to find players who beat the offline mode in order to have the maps unlocked online.... the memories... ^_^

Part of the reason Samba annoyed me was my very own fault.

I use a Studio Monitoring Headset for my Gaming Headset. In the age of integrating headsets with mics, I always hated the fact that one could never have good quality on both of the components, so I opted to have my own Mic and my own Headset.....

I hear the very poor quality of the track including the crackles. I can even tell you which parts are performed by real players and which instruments are virtual instruments. Samba was filled with so many artifacts that I was extremely happy that my keyboard has a key to mute all sound.

^ Mmmmm, glad I skipped that one. The Sonic franchise is made of great songs and they decide to pick the blandest one to celebrate a birthday! No hate for City Escape, but I'd rather have the actual song from SA2 than the "retro" throwback from Generations. It's good in spurts but these lobby musics seem like they're designed to drive you mad! #personalproblems

Although I'm kind of meh about Colors as a game,

Maybe this is hoping too much, but something dynamic like what they did for Racing Transformed's soundtrack was pretty cool too. Sky Sanctuary and Ocean View. Hnnnk. So gud!

CocoCrispy

The burn of the puyo pop games probably did something to them in the west. That and their amazing decisions are burning through their money faster than the moneymakers, Sonic and pso2, can gain for them. Which isn't foreign here. Their interesting decisions for modern Phantasy Star games have cost them dearly. I'm doubtful they will ever localize anything that isn't a single player title (barring spinoffs from online rpgs, ofc. Looking at you Nova).

I feel like Puyo would have a solid chance in the mobile market being a puzzle game. They just need to stop with the idiot moments. A celebration in pso2 with Satan's theme or something for the hell of it would be choice!

Hell no. That is like the only song in Phantasy Star history I loathe. I remember having a music disc battle with people on PSO1 when they insisted on playing that... crap while fighting and I always have to use one of my discs to overwrite it as I rather not have my ears bleed.

Then all those events I had to play PSU muted to keep away from that song... like one I remember having to fight a seed Magashi with that playing in the background with fire everywhere. Just no... no.

Sonic Lost World - Wonder World[Main Title Theme] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTbZgid5Aww)

That was playing last year? I had the game muted at the time as I was playing PSO1 and PSU music in the background while I was in missions and wasn't in the mood to keep muting and unmuting the game when I was and out of the missions. I'm now glad the game is muted... rather not make my ears bleed.

I feel like lobby music really has to be calm and soothing, not high-energy like a lot of the event lobby tracks are.

More stuff like this, for example:

Because if you're going to be hearing it repeatedly for hours on end, it just doesn't make sense for it to be something that wears you down after awhile.
