I already checked install for issues, restored the missing files and check for old ones. What else can produce this game crash?

Try the following:

Uninstall your video card drivers completely. Use a tool to eliminate them completely from the Registry. Download a fresh copy of both, Direct X9c and your Video Card Drivers. First Install Direct X 9c, and then Install your video card drivers...

What happens is that when graphic drivers are updated frequently by developers, the file structure remains the same. Due to most drivers being about optimization of the technology, a lot of people will end up using files from different version of drivers. This leads to instability and game crashes. The reason why a game crashes as a graphic error is to actually protect your video card or system from going down. The system and video cards have safeguards built in always to prioritize their life over that of a software...

Its actually a good thing.. :)

See if the error is based on graphics...

The fix for me was to go to your C:\Users\Username\Documents\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLIN E2\symbolarts\cache folder and delete everything inside there.

My theory is your game saved a corrupted Symbol Art like mine did. =v=b

Hmmm...im going to try to play without item plugin, its the only one i have enabled.

item trans has solve the room problem. but well now i have lags alot and loading problems. idk what that problem is

If you're on comcast it looks like a lot of people are experiencing lag.

The item translation issue should be resolved if you force the update, the translation.bin apparently had some weird characters in it that caused issues when being loaded. I'll look into it when I get home later.

I was crashing all day yesterday until I disabled the item translation. Got a plugin update when I started tweaker just now, reenabled item translation and I am able to change blocks without crashing again.
