Ok. Here is an easier way to finish a level. I'll talk about RUINS because I'm not sure if this works yet on Mines or Caves. In RUINS there are doors with dots on them. Doors with more than 1 dot on them will lead you to items, dead end, or a trail that brings you back to where you were before. Doors with 1 dot are the ones that lead you to the end. Few don't. I found this out by noticing if you're online and you come up to a door with more than 1 dot you need more players. But you don't need to go through those doors when you're alone unless if you wanted items. Might be confusing http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif

Well...

In other levels, 4 switches usually denotes a dead end/treasure room, while one can mean anything, and two almost ALWAYS denotes a path to the end of the level.

After 250 hours, I've actually gotten to the point where I can usually tell what path to take in a room depending on what I'm looking for... After a while doors just scream "ITEM ROOM!"

Or maybe that's those damn voices again. Either way, they're almost always right.

I've noticed that, Seutekh. If I'm in a hurry, I always take the two dots as soon as I see them for a quick route to the boss.

I think the idea with that was to make sure that you don't go through the online levels by yourself. I don't think you can finish most levels by yourself online, but you don't need more than two either. That's why there is almost always one critical two dot door, and the four dots are always loops or item rooms.
