If i dont see:
1. New weapon type
2. Level Cap Increase
3. New Falz/Phantom EQ
4. 14*/12* units
5. The inevitable Ama (caves w/e) UQ trailer
6. lol New Class
7. New Tech's for ALL ele's (fuck the crafted ones)
8. New Pa's/Crafted Pa's
9. Some re-revamp on the current UQ's (ya theyre dead, ya no one needs anything but it would be nice to be able to work CS's for Nem or something)
10. VR Levels of old PSO/PSU maps (Ohtori Castle again plz)
11. Olga Flow for no reason
12. XH Fields so I don't have to waste caps
13. Add current new maps to the AQ list (course they drop new PA's/Techs)
14. Expand room item count and remove Mini Room since no one uses this due to how easy 3-Day Room passes are attainable
15. New Skills for each class (do they need them? ehh not really BUT new is always nice....if the skills are good)
16. Update Challenge Mode/Shop with new gear to make it worth running outside boredom
17. Do a Monster Hunter collab with new random field boss with relevant drops (Could be Rath or Gore if you wanna center around Darker Infections)
18. Re-do Boss drop pools for relevant drops (lol Cougar NX drops, I mean come on)
19. Make Xie Weapons available again outside a dead LQ (for collecting and ele up purposes)
20. For the love of god new weapon types for each class please

I'm just gonna flip, it's all a crapshoot but come on it really isn't hard for them to manage any of this.

Oh ya make Eggs outside 13* droppable only when your playing as SU thx

Maybe, Ult Amduscia implementation in November.
and 14*weapons at the same time.

Zanverse
Aug 12, 2016, 01:07 PM
I would really like to know why people want 14*s right now... It would most probably screw up the whole Austere crave. I say they wait another year until they introduce 14*s, and if they DO come in the game, they better make damn sure that it's rare as hell to get, a one-time drop, and there should be a limited ship-wide drop number, so that everybody isn't running around with it equipped. For such a high rarity, THAT would be reasonable.

D-Inferno
Aug 12, 2016, 01:21 PM
Austere was kind of more aimed at "long time" players as the ultimate Ep3 weapon (though I think Orbit is far better). And it's been almost a year after PD; as well as two years after Ultimate Nab. It's time for a proper update. Question is if 14*s will have something besides more damage, and if Ultimate Amduscia will actually be a decently designed quest.

And I wouldn't expect 14*s to be so easy to grind. They could very well require Dio Grinders; and I don't see a Lamba -> Dio exchange happening. Perhaps EQs on the Lv90 difficulty will drop the grinders, while Ult Amd will provide the weapon itself? It would make a decent relationship between EQ and off-EQ playtime.

I'm pretty sure they approve of us gaijins playing, but making an official statement about it is just warrant to get attention from all the SJW crap and legal stuff, so they did it silently in the form of not banning.

I mean...ship 2 is like the english ship and it's dumb to assume Sega didn't know about it with all the crap internet has been screaming about i, they could've commence exterminus on everyone on ship 2 by now, but they didn't.

Yes, this is kinda offtopic I know. By now I wish US version of pso2 don't come to avoid all the SJW stuff, it's not even worth it.

Generally, I don't care for TA missions. I just kind of tolerate Harokotan since it's short, but I wouldn't say I like it. Traces of Darkness is fun, but only in small doses. But Tokyo looks honest to goodness fun. It'll likely take longer than Harokotan, but I think I'll still mix it into my weekly routine so that my eyes don't roll back into my head quite so far when doing Klotho's COs.

Considering game has been getting more congestion on ships since EP4 began, I highly doubt the game is dying. The fact they could afford Sachiko (Who is a very popular Enka singer) and Sega approved of the budget to hire her, and get her to do a live performance also shows that. PSO2 would only be dying if Sega suddenly began doing once a month updates instead of bi-weekly updates or something like that. Releasing Ult Amduscia is far from a "Oh this can save us" considering were UQ's are as a whole

Finally, a TA that looks fun to play.

The crystal theme of Ult Amduscia looks cool. The punching dragon (Dragonmizer, right?), Ult Quartz Dragon and Ult Dragon Ex looks awesome. The quadrupedal version of Anga was a nice surprise.

For the story update, it doesn't look like we'll be getting a second boss fight with Phaleg. Hopefully, that's not the case.

Love how the crowd cheered for Huey's return. His new outfit doesn't seem to be much of a change from his old outift which is rather boring but I'm cool with it.

No Cast parts in the first half of the PSU scratch, but they still showed artwork of Vivienne (and Laia), you're tearing me apart Sega. I'm keeping all my fingers crossed for a Vivienne Repca outfit - they've exhausted almost every iconic PSU/PSP outfit now, she can't be ignored any longer (especially since the Vivienne weapon was found ages ago in the files).

I bought the Deluxe Package for that costume and Pete Mag device, so I hope they aren't treated the same, at least so I can say "hey I bought a box copy!"

I also wonder if they're just recoloring them, or if they're completely remade.

I figured they would include the original colors for Ethan and Karen's outfit in the scratch, but I guess it would make sense to only have the recolors and the AOTI outfits.

After reading all the posts here, I felt like replying to this one:

That is not true at all...
The U.S celebrates the world of anime and games through Anime Conventions.
Lots of fan support exists to the point a large number of people in those conventions including myself are cosplayers.
Most of us are down to earth and really love anime and games enough to cosplay a character for several days on a convention floor..

Also, to me.... America does it right as far as treating gamers to a pure gaming convention..
Other nations might have their games conventions where one sees tech and hardware... and some competitions there..

However, America started a trend....
We started QUAKECON...

Which is not just a gaming convention...
It is also a gaming tournament as well and recognized as the world's largest and premier BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN PARTY.

There is nothing more amazing than making your own Rig, Bringing it over there.. Getting plugged in, Competing with each other, while walking through booths to see the latest in Gaming Technology; Sharing time and spending time learning and improving in comp tech through chatting with those who made their killer rigs.

Japan has its own thing going for itself..
America has its own thing going for itself too..

Don't count us out so fast... ^_^

Missed out on QuakeCon this year?
Go ahead and look up BlizzCon! There is plenty of time to register and Blizzard knows how to throw a convention! ^_^

I was assuming that they just wanted to move on to other things. They've been with PSO2 for what, four years now? Even if they love the job sometimes you want to do other things you know, I also imagine any contracts they may have signed may have finally given them the opportunity to step away if they wanted to.

That's just my speculation though, I know it happens with japanese Idols and popstars too.

Oh, I see ....... after looking at video again ..... using same damage % from zero-range pot, it's almost the same level as Austere Tmg O_O
Should the damage bumped up, by 2% at least, it'll out-damage Austere too (along with 100% crit rate at zero range, without needing ShiftaCritical / CriticalField) ....

And they also gave tiny HP recovery too? @.@

Oh, can't wait when the data will be available ...... probably it can change Austere :o

Thanks for the info :D

Well, if anything by Sega standards this is actually really packed : remember the only new thing we got was Tokyo this winter, and new TA which is just bosses in darker den. Now we get Vegas field, Time attack and new UQ, all of that in 2 months ! Hope they can keep up the pace !

I always count out the US fast because of the natural online/offline behavior toward Japanese culture/Japan in general (example, the shitty reactions to the Sachiko concert from the Block 1 Cancer). Now because PS isn't big over here yet I know for sure an event like this were to happen it wouldn't be that successful

I've watched Blizzcon last year (maybe the year before), not all that different from what Sega does so I can't too much outside that.

Amaduscia UQ the only thing to even look forward to, glad i didnt stay up though, I dont want more Crafted PA's/Techs, I want new ones and well I didnt see anything interesting outside the "skill rebalance".

Maybe so..
but wasn't it also the US that has PSO-W as well as the people who created the tweaker, made the English Patch, and maintain a high presence of importers in PSO-2 right about now? Isn't that a level of fandom beyond to the point of sheer addiction and insanity? Sure, Americans can show how unappreciative they are, but Americans are the first to breach to new territory while many others "talk" about breaching to new territory.

Watching a Convention, and going to one are two different things altogether.
I hate watching them and rather be there in person myself in cosplay.
To me, just the fact we handle conventions for elements that came from foreign culture is enough you know.

Also, you are right about Amduscia UQ.
which also makes me wonder if it would be like Nab UQ that started amazing and then it was nerfed to oblivion... :(
Its like Ultimate Mode became Mediocre Mode in a Single Patch :(

I think the fan base exists, and is the right size, the western community could totally pull off a great, fun, and exciting get together and event, but the problem is that it's one location, and not many people can travel around the country so easily.

It's different in Japan, with proper planning you can go half way up the country on public transport without much difficulty, and not to mention the country is smaller. People from a wider area can come together for such an event. That's the problem I think would be the downfall of a western get together of a fairly niche community like PSO2's western player base. Not even counting fans that live in other western countries outside the Unites States, they wouldn't be able to make it for sure.

A non-officcial fan-funded convention is going to lack many attractions that make the official live broadcasts work.

The main reason for me would be the merchandising!

A non-officcial fan-funded convention is going to lack many attractions that make the official live broadcasts work.

The main reason for me would be the merchandising!

In Japan, there is a convention called AnimeJapan. It is the largest Anime Convention in Japan. This year it had 135K people. The way that convention began was that two Events (TAF and ACE) were merged into one. What happened was that convention organizers came to the US and spent time in American-Ran conventions and felt the need to create something special in Japan. They were extremely impressed with Anime Expo (which this year had over 100K people) and their level of event organization.

Ariake Coloseum has a maximum seating capacity of 10,000 people. Arks Festa is big by SEGA's standards, but in this day and age, 10,000 people is rather small and mediocre for a first-party convention. QuakeCon was also 8 - 12K people but their BYOC was nearly 3000 which was impressive. Blizzcon last year was 25K people (because of limited capacity) and 10 million who streamed it.

I will give credit to Japan. Years ago their anime conventions were so bad that most of us would skip them on the global schedule of conventions. Anyone out there knew just how bad they were. AnimeJapan is having a lot of us in the group I am in planning trips to the next one. In order for Japan to change and work towards making a worthy anime convention, it took a friendly kick in the ass from the west (they admitted this) to wake up and make something great.

My point is that we have the potential to make something big if we wanted to.
This delusion that only Japan can make something great happen has got to stop...

This delusion that only Japan can make something great happen has got to stop...

It's not really that. As you stated, we could make something awesome. The problem is that as a niche fanbase, we run into so many other problems that it wouldn't be reasonable to attempt setting up any form of fan festa, let alone an actual, official convention (if SEGA even cares). It's not that we think only Japan can do it, it's that Japan has a better official backing and a higher concentration of fans per square mile to make it work.

Let's look at it from a new player to pso2 (whether they played the old games or not) stand point:
There are 2 options:
1a: Someone who has kept up with pso2 info and has started playing as early as the official opening for this game but wishes to play in English so they patiently play "blind" until most of the menu's etc is done.
2b: Someone who has never heard of or an old vet of the older games looking to play the official West version
2. Can't find any news or download about the game so they go through google or w/e to find info and find psow (or straight to Eng Patch Site)
3. Read stuff on psow, download JP game/Tweaker to play the game in English
4. They become part of the growing (or dying) Eng Community
5. They spread this info to friends etc to get them to play
6. People do the same process or just play in JP
7. This continues as a whole

It's almost neither fandom or dedication, my point being is because there is no Western version of the game, people who are actually seeking and willing to do what very little work there is to play the game are playing now therefore it contributes to this whole Eco system or w/e tf you wanna call it.

Now if the current translation team presence is "high" because the game is popular to an extent to warrant updating the Tweaker/patches over and over is one thing but had they stopped updating and dropped it to go work on/do other things (or loss of interest in general) then I probably would say people would lose interest in the game eventually. Sure some people will pick up where they left but how long will they hold out for? It'll eventually die off along with some of the members who won't play without translations.

I think what I'm getting at is, without the translation team, I dont think the community would be as big as it is now, sure long time vets will play anyways but thats only saying so much. As for the West reaching outside territories, well Dev's for whatever they have don't release the game outside their countries which is a whole other story that i dont want to bother with right now

Irrelevant since most of us know this internally.
You must think of me as a lower intelligence to have to write such a list.

It is fandom..
Unless you think the average joe smoe looks at google to find PSO-2 without knowing about a previous title...
then reading PSO-W and choosing to do what is asked of them to play a game.

Sorry, but random people hardly join PSO-2 unless they are brought into the game by someone who played one of the previous titles.

Irrelevant, because the translation team is still working on it; thus the scenario presentation cancels itself out.
This is why one learns in High School English Writing classes to never use a past-tense "what if" scenario in arguing a point.

Another obvious statement, failing to look at the big picture.
You also use the words "I don't think..." which means you are not sure.
Its a failure to take a stance when it counts.

Without a translation team, a community will not be as large due to the fact that big or small; translation teams always create new communities due to language translations. Translate something into another's L1 language and you have a brand new community ready to join in on the fun. This is a universal constant that is backed up by Evidence-Based Practices, and Market Research... Live a little, and don't be afraid to go all-in when its a surefire kill! ^_^

[SPOILER-BOX]https://s3.postimg.org/hkqnv1idv/Keilyn.png (https://postimg.org/image/aua6llv7z/)[/SPOILER-BOX]
Oh and heres the PM I got and well didn't bother reading past I "I did study music, so I did analyze the voice of those two songs."
[SPOILER-BOX]I don't know about the reactions to Sachiko on Block 1. I tend to avoid that place like the plague.

I did study music, so I did analyze the voice of those two songs.

Here is my analysis:

The Singer is a Mezzo Soprano. This means she goes slightly lower than an Alto, but not as high as a full Soprano. In short, she is between the two ranges. I know this well because I am the male equivalent to a Mezzo Soprano called a ContraTenor.

In the first song that she sings, one hears the lower power of her voice, which is amazing for a woman to be able to sing low. However, she does not have as much air as she should, but she makes it up for it by singing legato and easing up a bit. This is taught to women specifically in order to retain fidelity in high voices.

In the second song, she reaches that one point that causes all of us who are between ranges to fuck up. The point in the voice where males and females have to change gender and rules on how to manage the voice. At the beginning of the song, she sings the notes she has the most problems with and cracks a bit. She minimizes it by actually lowering her own volume and working with her breath. That technique is taught because those with wide ranges have the greatest problems at the middle of the voice. Hitting lowest and highest notes are not a problem compared to having to sing in the middle.

In both songs the distance is not wide between notes allowing her to compensate. However there are sections where she nails being able to travel wide and fast on the song, and other sections where she fails at it and covers it by leading into it, hence another error-correction technique singers are taught. A weakness that girls have is that they do not have the power of breath when singing low, but they have the sustain for high notes. Males have that power and its why males make up the lower half of the piano. This is also why Music is the only art in the world where we all love and appreciate the Fat Lady.

"It ain't over until the fat lady sings" is such a compliment to someone who has the weight and volume to have the vocal depth of a male and the sustain of a female.

I did not like the set much for Sachiko.
I did like that the vocalization of the song was not always the highest note.

A lot of songs end up having the vocal track also be the melody and usually the pitch is the highest in the music. However, as a ContraTenor myself; I always enjoyed listening to music where the lyric is sandwiched between the upper and lower voice.

She also has the one proof that makes her a Mezzo-Soprano....Being able to not mess up singing a song when another voice or instrument track goes higher than she does. In short, singing within the bubble and not on top of it.

I didn't mind the songs.
I just hated the set she sang them on.

Also, I am a Quna fan. She is spirited in character even though she is an assassin....
Sachiko is so new to me.... [/SPOILER-BOX]
It's not a wall of text but it was irrelevant to what I said about reactions from the Western players therefore skipped and discarded

The last time Western players had access to a somewhat "English" version of PSO2 (When the SEA Version was opened for a bit), from what I've seen, many players just played the game for 2-3 days maximum before getting bored and leaving.

I mean, a western version of PSO2 is totally possible. But it won't last more than two years. I think it's because, for some reason, we're so used to playing games once, partially, and leaving them in the dust once we're done. YouTube Let's Players do this a lot, and that has created a certain mindset(?) amongst other gamers. That's why PSO2 West wouldn't live on properly. PSO2 is somewhat of an investment.

Just remember, it'd be useless to keep a game going if there's less than only a couple hundred of players that are actually playing the game.

The whole set up is designed for players who enjoy that, but no one is forcing you to get austere weapons, and if you aren't interested in that just go for one of the more easily obtainable 13*s.

As for repetitive content, at the end of the day any endgame for any game is going to get repetitive even with constant updates. While I wish they would give us a better stream of new things to do, no one is stopping you from just taking a break or even quitting. If a game isn't enjoyable for you to play on some level to the point where you're ONLY playing for rewards trying to force yourself is just going to make you resent it.

You don't understand me because I'm not talking only about only the Austere Weapons, Imagine a EQ that is a boss rush and tomorrow is an undertime mission, that is better than two Profound Darkness in two days and adds variety, also with my method that you only get badges that you can exchange from everything you don't have players that whine that the mission to get an specific resource doesn't pops out, I even talking to get CM like that too and the only thing that changes between playing a mission or mode is the % of badges you get.

The issue with that though is that you can just obtain whatever by doing whatever. It's just my taste but I like doing specific content to get specific items, as it feels more rewarding than doing random things and ending up getting stuff like that. It's just my take on things, and I totally respect yours, but PSO2 ( even PSO in general : king of the "you gotta grind it to nausea to get what you want) has been working this way for a while now, and most of the people that are still on the game like, or at least not resent this take on things. Additionally a badge system wouldn't change anything because at the end, people would rush EQs that get the best badge turnout > other EQs would be forgotten > SEGA adjusts EQ schedule and we get the winner of this ad nauseam. Not exactly the best outcome.

No yeah I agree with a lot of what's been said here, I prefer specific content to be specific. If I want Caligula Fragments, I do PD, if I want XQ stones, I do Extreme Quests. Plus the amount of time and grinding I have to do to get certain items is part of the joy of the game for me, maybe it's because I'm been playing these games since the Dreamcast up until now, but taking time to grind it out for that sweet reward is what keeps me playing in the first place.

And to the comment on PD happening more than once in a day or such, once the Ray sheets expire and the summer events are over, we'll probably see more variety in scheduled EQs, and on top of that, the Falz boss EQs are random, they can happen any day at any hour, so it's not like they're gone.
