Basically what the title says. Was wondering if Buster is any good as a main past 100, aside from the 101 passive skill.

Depends on what you're looking for out of it. Buster is really a Master of None for pretty much the entire game until it passes Lv. 150, after which it starts getting Burst skills that capitalize on the Burst Gauge. I personally think it's "okay", but it doesn't hold a candle to a specialized class in terms of ability.

However, if you feel like alternating between Techs, melee, and ranged at the same time, go right ahead.

I'm basically wondering if playing a buster would make it more difficult to clear SH and XH missions compared to if i played a hunter/ranger. I like the ability to use all three types, but i can live without that if it means I can clear SH missions easier.

I believe it would be faster to use a dedicated class, solely because dedicated classes have better raw stats and raw stats are actually good in this game. But as stated, Buster isn't terrible, its just balanced. Your weapon matters a lot more than your class choice because it's where most of your damage comes from.

Thanks for the info! if it's not too much would you also be able to explain to me how the core refinery works? playing the game untranslated and not sure what's the difference between the 20k option and the 500 option. am i suppose to make some of those new dust like attachments to use in the 20k refinement?

I personally find you're better specialising and then using a skill board with a weapon unlock for particular enemies/bosses rather than playing Buster -- for example I play Hunter and have a Rifle unlock on my 3rd skill board for enemies such as the Toas series.

Also all classes get the Burst Mastery skill at 151, so I don't think Buster really ever outshines the others.

For the core refinery, the 500 GE option mashes cores together to upgrade them into better ones. For example, you combine 3 Power IVs together to make a Power V. Note that all refines create small cores, meaning that you can only use them for attach parts.

The 20K GE option allows you to transfer any latent onto an attach part, meaning you don't need the materials to create another attach part. Just create a cheap one with say... a Power I, then spend the GE to transfer Power V onto it, instead of needing to hunt Super materials.

Everything is 100% like the rest of the game as well at the refinery, so don't worry about any RNG.

Note that once you get level 151+, the Final Crew have a couple of Crew members known as "Core Refinery Chiefs", and if you place one of those onto the Core Refinery, you'll be able to make even better latents. For example, 3x Power V will turn into Power VI instead of Shoot V.

Hey, it's me again back with more questions. Was wondering for TAJA passive, do i have to alternate between GA and TA or can i just spam the same GA over and over again?

Alternates. Works this way in PSO2 as well.

back again with another question. If i were to get the element weapon active skills from the force class and put them in the toolbar (quickbar?) would i need to have the skills in my main skill board or can i have it in skill board 2/3 and still be able to activate it? the recent quests that requires a certain elements to do damage and live have been rather difficult and i've been pushing through by putting element attachments and resist on my weapon. was wondering if i should train the force class to 120 to get the skills so i can replace one of the attachments for something more useful.

Side note, but if you haven't already done so, I recommend getting a Shield Unit with Element Resist so you only need one Attachment to hit 100% resistance. This makes those Quests much, much easier (and lets you tank through certain attacks, to boot).

For the main question, Skills will only work if the weapon you're wielding has the appropriate Skill on the linked Skill Board. So the situation you described (using a Weapon linked to Skill Board 1 while your Element Skills are linked to Skill Board 2) would not work, to my knowledge. Note that I have not actually tested this, so take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah i've been trying to make the elemental resist armors but i don't have the materials or the cores to make them. I's working towards making all the element armors but not knowing japanese makes it hard to figure out where to get stuff. I noticed that i can activate the ranger skills from skill board 2 and switch back to my sword weapon that is linked to skill board 1. the skill seems to still be activated normally but i'm not sure if the stat boost is working. Guess i'll try getting force to 101 and see if the fire weapon element will work. been stuck on the quest where i have to use water element weapons and fire resistance armor and the boss has a timer of 20 mins.

I have tested activating fire element weapon on a weapon that is linked to a skill board 2 and have switched back to a weapon linked to skill board 1. The effect stays and lets me hurt the fire weak monster. this is really good in case anyone else is in need for a certain element. worth training force to 120 for all 6 elements given the fact that the skills also increase all damage by 30%.
