Wait, I'm curious. If I'm understanding correctly, you can create a 3D crystal etching of your very own character. Does this mean you can make clones and use collaboration stuff? Can you get a 3D crystal etching of 2B, the Persona 5 Protagonist, Saber, or Space Cowboy Godzilla?

Pretty much as I said in the other topic:

;3430641']Seeing as my character is pretty much a make-shift of my anim-ized self with the little I have to work with in PSO2, I'm not interested in that crystal thing personally.
Like a decade ago I was thrilled about this stuff when companies did this for custom characters, but that was when 3D printing stuff and whatever was primitive.
Now I rather just buy a 3D printer and make as many as I want. Even extra parts to customize it more if I want to.

Just a few of my chars
(Didn't feel like doing extra work for a quick image)

Looks cool but I would want to know how much it costs, compared to going to a swap meet and getting it done there, before I start shelling out money.

i don't think so sega didn't buy those license to do more than just in game outfit. they won't risk themself to violent the copyright law pretty sure they won't allow you do the character with exactly the same look but adjust some a accessory on it may do the magic

At minimum they estimate 10k yen per, more likely to be 15k. Keep in mind its a 5x5x8cm crystal. Anyone who's ever ordered any of the EbTen DXLE packages for any high profile game will know exactly what they're getting into. (and how expensive those DXLEs are in general)

Persona 5 is probably OK, since Sega Sammy owns both Sega and Atlus. A bit of a grey area but it's probably OK as long as you didn't create an exact clone of a copyrighted character. Otherwise a lot of cosplayers who sell photobooks would be completely out of a line of business.

Probably really expensive for 3rd world countries, where they wont send it anyway by any mail service. 3rd world countries are every country in the world, beside JP

Because I only noticed this just now, here are pictures of the P5 protag, as well as Narukami in P4D. These came from the Ebten DXLE packages for those games respectively.

Correct, though you may find it labelled as Famitsu DX Limited Edition. Note that there will usually be 2 versions of the DX, and the one that has the 3D Crystals will be labelled as such. Outside of Japan, the only places that will carry the Ebten or Famitsu DX Limited Editions for games will be Play Asia, or Nin-Nin-Game. Personally I prefer Nin-Nin-Game since their premiums aren't as crazy as what Play Asia will charge, but if its something you want faster, PlayAsia will get it to you much faster with more options for shipping.

There's a 99.9% chance of them asking you to send in a different character file again that doesn't contain collabo outfit items, like all the character contest that specifically says you can and cannot use what and what items.

The crystal itself is neat. Problem is it's limited quantity, it will cost a few hundred dollars at the very least (5x5x8cm is not big), and it's most likely going to be lottery for the winners. I like the idea, but at this rate it's easier to make your own with clay or something. Like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfxNWp0QfHg).

well its not the figures they mentioned in the past but i'll take the crystal print outs too.

real question is, is it confirmed us gaijin can even order these without going through a 3rd party of some sorts to make it happen? otherwise its sorta a massive letdown if we cant

Tymek
Aug 16, 2017, 07:20 PM
Whoa... think they'd do NPC clones? I... I want one... I'll shell out the big bucks for it. I want. I want.

Really? You get so many options, and you want an NPC?

Have they ever provided a link to the lottery sign up? All Bumped.org said a few weeks ago when they discussed this topic again was “registrations coming later october.” Plus, is it even possible for us US players to participate in this?

Technically speaking, but you need a valid Japanese address to deliver to. There are some services that will let you sub in their Japanese address, and they will relay it to you when they get it. Otherwise, you would need to know someone in Japan who can receive the package and send it to you.

You can make multiple submissions, but they will only take the last one you submitted. You can't cheat and use multiple e-mail addresses to signup, since you are required to provide a screenshot with your player ID number.

Other things to note:

You are to provide your Player ID number on that form, as well as character name (in separate fields).

You want to make sure that the width of your character is no more than 60% of the height of your character (certain cast parts and almost every wing item can easily take you past this)

Picture must be submitted in jpg format, with a filesize limit of 1MB.

Thank you so much for link and information! Having an email such as @live or @hotmail shouldn’t matter right? I know technically we aren’t allowed to be playing on their servers so with providing your email, and Player ID im worried they can determine if you’re a JP player or not

This could have been a wonderful commercial operation if they chose to not put so many shitty restrictions in it. But acting that way, the only thing they offer to all their beloved Player-Chan is, once more, frustration. Too bad. I would have paid the price. I would have paid it GLADLY !

E-mail address shouldn't matter at all, Japanese people are pretty heavy users of gmail as well as other e-mail addresses that use custom top level domains. I personally submitted with the same gmail address I use for my account... which also has a primary e-mail attached to my account using @live.ca.

I would be worried though if you applied and did not receive an e-mail confirming your submission.

The restrictions are there because this is a custom production line they have to open up with the DMM.make workshop. They have to put in the restrictions so it doesn't cost too much or take too long. You may have paid for it no matter what the cost, but others might not, since the price of this custom piece is already 2-3x as much as a generic 3D Crystal that you would typically get with some high profile limited edition games that Famitsu/Ebten sells.

Entered the contest. Hope I'm one of the 555. It'd be nicer if they just made it available to the general public later though... with how rare PS merch is of the characters that aren't RAcaseals this is probably the best opportunity there'll be for a long time.

If you applied for the crystal, check your e-mail. They just sent out notifications to those selected (I was one of them). The sender will be from [email protected]

In that e-mail you'll see a link to a personalized shop page at ebten.jp, including the picture you had submitted (so you know it's yours). Just add the item to cart, sign into your ebten market account (or make one if you don't have an account), and pay for it. ebten's pretty lax about international credit cards, but they only ship within Japan, so anyone outside Japan will need to send it to a forwarding service or a Japanese contact.

Just note that these will not be shipped until Feb. 2018.
