So, this pretty much adds ReShade 3.0 to Tweaker's plugin folder, but still has the same issue with the UI... Didn't know 3.0 worked with the plugin system though, it didn't with 2.0 not long ago.

You can however get it to work by injecting via ENBInjector. Just use dxgi.dll for the .dll name.

is there any kind of performance benefit from using this, or anything like that worth mentioning? I've never used the previous versions myself but I was curious

Not really, just easier to use/install.

You wont get better performance using ReShade, this is just for people who want to add glitter on top of the visuals. Basically adding more light bloom, better color, etc.

Hmmu, I've managed to install both the plugin and your archive, and I can verify in-game that it works with a fairly decent 60+ framerate. However, I can't seem to be able to bring up the in-game shader window for further customization with the Shift + F1 key. I've even ensured to unbind both keys from the game to see if that would change anything, but to no avail.

I like this look a lot, though I notice a slight hit to my fps. I'll prolly play with it a bit since I have Lavendy's inspector preset on top of this hogging a lot of resources :T

If shift+f1 doesn't work, how do I config it? If I'm supposed too.

Hmm, I have no experience using Reshade...what kind of effects can I get using it?
Also, how do I unistall it? xd

Im really interested though, and I want to know if I can get something nice while running this game at 4k

Quoting myself from the other ReShade thread:

You can try this instead: https://sfx.thelazy.net/forum/sweetfx/84/

DX9IV allows you to test ReShade and SweetFX without using the actual game. Just take a screenshot of PSO2, open it in DX9IV with ReShade, then port the settings you save back to the game. AO, DOF and depth-dependent effects won't work with this though.

ReShade outputs screenshots to pso2_bin, not your Documents folder.
The ones on your documents folder don't have any effects on them because they are written to a file before reaching the part of the render pipeline where ReShade injects itself at.

Also, you need to add effects if you haven't already.

I did the following to get it to work:

As I had NP1013's in the past, I put ReShade as d3d9.dll and, with the keyboard shrotcuts working, configured the plugins that I wanted and after that, I just switched to the Tweaker managed plugin setup, as ReShade.dll in the plugins folder. Just copy over the .ini file with the right name and you're good to go.

But even then, I have a little question... Does anybody got better AA/AF than stock settings? FXAA just makes things blurry, and the other filters like SMAA do nothing with my Radeon based setup...

Meh I'll just do without it again then. Still too complicated to deal with if it still refuses to work even with this new tweaker thing.

Funny, I had installed Leayal's files just a day before PSO2Tweaker's update. The recommended tweaks are nice and my computer is good enough to run them, but I'm gonna wait a couple weeks until I update my case and cooling. Last time I mucked with graphic post-processing my old fans got too noisy for my confort.

So, while I really love how some people muck with the game's graphics to get really amazing effects, I gotta say that there's only one single thing I'd love to accomplish and never managed to do so. I've asked occasionally on the related threads but never got a definite answer, partly due to my usually low-end rig, but now I'm running the game on an i5-6400, 16GB and a GTX1080, so I'm confident that this time I should be more than ready.

Basically my game is riddled with texture shimmering. Jagged edges are something kinda bothersome, specially with shiny stuff like the stairs at the various lobbies, but that's nothing compared to whenever I'm anywhere with a heavily textured area. Sanctum and Kuron are the most affected places since the walls are full of details, but it also happens with any floor full of dirt, grass or rock. Seriously, the fastest method to give me migraines is to make me run those areas.

I've tried with many settings dealing with anisotropic filtering, texture clamping and antialiasing but I guess I'm not savy enough with these things to get it fixed. I ve managed to reduce the problems with some extent, but mostly with jagged edges, not texture shimmering. Mostly, I've tried Lavendy's nVidia Inspector's various setups and they all improve greatly the game's visuals, but it makes me feel that they're focused on many graphical aspects other than what I wanna fix, and before I go revving up my rig with post-processing I want to make sure that the main issues I'm experiencing are addressed.

So the thing hooks to some degree at least since the FPS indicator shows up if I enable it in the .ini, but can't bring up the Reshade interface or enable the SweetFX effects. Even if I change the relevant hotkey settings in the files.
┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌
Back to the RadeonPro method it is.

Shoterxx
Sep 13, 2017, 03:47 PM
Anisotropic filtering should fix texture shimmering, unless something is preventing it from being forced on the game. Running 16X on the Quality setting shouldn't make a difference on a 1080's performance, it's pretty much free.

Create a ReShade folder in your normal screenshot directory (Documents\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pictures\ReSha de)

I think some options are hardcoded right now, such as keybindings and screen capture locations... even when I changed them, they revert to the default ones the next run... and the one from above is the default screenshot location - and if the folder doesn't exists, no screenshot for you.

A fix for the UI (Ctrl + F1) issue via Tweaker will be live in a few minutes - My inexperience with Reshade is to blame for this one, sorry!

EDIT: Live.

I had some issues with the ReShade support: whenever I do some change to the ReShade 'general' settings - like screenshot location or key bindings - they aren't properly saved in (plugins\ReShade.ini), but if I do changes that would be saved in (reshade-shaders\pso2.ini) - like which effects are enabled - they are properly saved and remembered. Is this related with the obfuscation technique used? The only way for me to change the default key bindings was manually editing the ReShade.ini file...

It's being saved in "pso2_bin/d3d9.ini" instead.
Replace your "plugins/ReShade3.ini" with the one above, before re-running PSO2.

I'm pretty much following the instructions. Is it related to game directory? My SEGA folder is in program files x86 if that changes anything.
This is what it looks like before I press install. It's already running as an admin too

Tried looking at the code, but didn't get anywhere.

Until then, try using an older version:

I'm almost 100% sure it's because you have your SEGA folder in Program Files. Try installing it to another, arbitrary directory (c:\ANYNAMEHERE ) and copy the files to your PSO2 installation, in matching folders...

Uh...I am very sorry, that exception/error is by my mistake. It has been fixed in v3.3 (https://github.com/Leayal/ReShade-Installer-For-PSO2/releases/latest) (hopefully). And thank you for posting the exception detail.

Is this a standalone installation or do I need some prerequisites to make it work? never touched sweet fx and I don't see it working, I also don't know if I should see a new plug-in in the tweaker, because I don't.

Edit: solved, problem was I suck at following simple instructions lol or at least this time I did...

Shoterxx

Wanted to give it a quick try, but can't get it to work .-. PSO2 won't even properly launch with it. Just hangs out in the background like a nuisance. Heck if I know what could be causing that since there's no crash.
Installed as per arks-layer instructions, enabled plugin in tweaker, launched via tweaker. pso2.exe runs, but never fully boots up and needs terminating.
Deleted it all and the game runs again at least. Oh well.

This happened to me before. I fixed it by starting ReShade with the effects disabled. This was a long time ago however, and not 100% sure how it's done on ReShade 3.

I exited my game, and now for some reason, I'm getting this error. It won't allow me to login to the game with the reshade plugin checked. I have to turn it off to start the game.
It says I'm missing the Reshade3.ini I think.
Re-installing using the installer didn't help. Any ideas on what I should do?

Check for d3d9.ini in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin", rename it to Reshade3.ini, and move it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\plugins".

If no such file exists, just create a dummy file, called Reshade3.ini and add it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\plugins".

I am gonna resurrect this thread since I wanna avoid creating new threads for no reason.
I was able to install reshade, however, whenever I use the Arks tool for the installation, the result I get (files added and such) is different.
Reshade seems to run now, I have resolved that much, but it doesn't look like it processes any of the modifications it is supposed to apply.
I can see a very bare difference in sharpness when I toggle it on/off at the moment...

What may I be doing wrong?

Should I be worried about this? I get this everytime, even after a clean installation of PSO2.
