This is strange, it's as if they had a sudden maint out of no where. Really hope it's nothing.

Tri boost isn't going to fix this, i expect at least 5 gold bonus keys for this mess.

Magnitude 5.4 earthquake
19 miles from Urakawa, Hokkaido, Japan · 10:24 AM

3mins later @ 10:27am the servers went down, don't know for sure this was a factor or not

I already had a bad feeling about this, and was hoping it was nothing, but..this isn't helping, fair chance it's due to that earthquake because if the game + twitter and the site it self is down, means they went a full black out. which isn't good news most of the time.

apparently other games aside PSO2 were effected as well

....yes?

the earthquake affected japan's networks twelve hours later? is that what we're going on?

Dunno if related, but 2 days ago at around this time me and my friend got disconnected like 4 times, and each time it took around 3 mins before we could log back while telling us the servers were offline. Everyone was still on when we relogged, so it happened to us only. We do live in the same country, though far away from each other and with different ISPs too :/

You have to convert the time. You saw it in JST.

Yeah it's not that earthquake, and I don't see any reports of PUBG being down

No, the earthquake was actually over 12 hours ago. It's 2pm in JST, 10am is probably when it happened in their local time.

Or just a general network outage for the servers in an area, sure

considering the earthquake is ~400mi/600km from sega's hq, but let's resort to the 12 year old 4chan insults

I don't know how japanese software companies usually do this, but I'd be surprised if the game's servers were actually at sega's hq. They're probably in a datacenter somewhere

if you werent taking my posts as direct fact i probably wouldnt be responding to you the way i am, which is why i worded it as a probability because im still looking to see what info I can find otherwise i would named the thread: "EARTHQUAKE CRASHES PSO2 SERVERS" or something.

i'm not denying that possibility, but i'd imagine the data center is accessible to them (e.g. not incredibly far), so that still puts it at least 200mi away

edit: nobody's taking it as 'direct fact', but i am arguing against the probability based on what makes sense
you don't have to be so defensive dude
it was literally just "it happened pretty far and hours ago, it probably wasn't the cause"

relax

which is why i was looking into where exactly their HQ was (because i dont keep this on memory for any reason) and where the earthquake happened to rule this out, I wasn't ruling out a area outage either. I was just passing on info I read and the looking into it. slow your micro aggressions bro

Maybe, but maybe not. If they're renting the servers management of the physical hardware could be the purview of the company they're renting from (platform as a service). I wouldn't bet either way.

In any case, the earthquake was twelve hours ago, so we can be pretty confident it wasn't the direct cause.
