Just wanted to share that Gideons DC locked up and he lost his char. And probally the only legit Heavens Punishment you would ever see.
Still think we dont need backups?

In PSO 2 they should have a option to have it save two files, so if one goes, you can always use the other.
Ambrai, can you still back it up using e-mail? I know that If you do, you have to make sure you play it offline to make up for or you lose your items.

playing offline for a set time doesnt work. they are not tracing time alone. I have a way to get around it but I am testing it right now as we speak.

Tell me when you find out. Im going make a back up just in case something happens in the future. At least that way I'll still be able still have my character even thougth I won't have any items.
Damn...That sucks. PSO has way too many problems. I can't wait for PSO 2 now. When i first heard about PSO 2, I didn't care becuase I'm addicted to PSO 1, but now I really can't wait for it and hope the PSO 1 problems get fixes. This just sucks. Sorry, Gideon. I'm sure we can all help you if you start a new character.

they aren't checking time. period.
if you have a *working* character and set your time to lower than it was when you logged on, and save, yiou can *still* log on.
i confirmed this by taking a big risk and setting the time on one of my *working* characters to 20 hours (it was 60+ when i previously logged off)
and guess what? logged on just fine... so time is NOT a factor, i repeat, NOT a factor. playing offline won't help, using a code to set time higher won't help.
if time were a factor, the working character wouldnt work anymore, but it does, so that leaves the only point that time is not a factor.

My character is evolutia (R.I.P 03-10-01). If you note in the screenshots he is there, also if you notice his low level (hard difficulty) he could get smacked down pretty easily. So, basically it ended up, my running around those fierce baddies to the safe corners and unloading heavens fury on them.

Sorry about your loss Gideon... but I still think backups are not needed.
If my char were deleted with a lot of cool stuff, I'd just start over with a new char (I'm already doing this with my low level RAmar). I've never been graced with a BSOD or an inventory loss, and I'm grateful for that, but I'm already prepared to lose my high lvl char if the event comes. Besides, to me, the journey is it's own reward, not the destination.
