So, who wants people to post RL pics, and who doesn't.

I've allready heard the argument this morning that it takes away the "mystery" about people, but I don't know if I quite buy that, cause I myself like to match a face to the person that I'm talking to.

Feedback?

P.S. I'll even post my pics up since it's my idea.

Well we had this argument already Spy and you know what I think. Its like when you told me your name. I don't care. Your name is Spy to me. By the way what makes you think we want to look at your ugly mug anyway http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif.

Just kidding Spy http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

lol, ugly... hahaha, somebody as conceded as myself can't reach my level of confidence if they are "ugly."

Sending out RL pictures can be fun, but I really don't think it's necessary. One of the nicest things about the Internet is that (to paraphrase Prodigy's statement in another thread) you get to meet the personality instead of the face.

...Besides... once I've known someone for a year or two, I usually have such a solid mental image of him already that seeing a photograph has little or no effect. ^^;;

I have to agree with the others, Spy. I like how communication over the internet isn't based on name, appearance, or whatever. All that's important is your mind. =)

I don't mind posting a picture of myslef, I tend to agree with Spy that I remember people better that way. However it's been said that I resemble my Aviatar so I guess I'm not as tmid about revealing myself online. I live half my life here so what difference is it to me?

Hey Spy, I'm guessin you must be a photoshop man like myslef, cuz your image is so smooth. QUESTION: how did you get such a clean image of your character? Are you feeding the DC signal into a TV card on your PC and doing a screen capture, or using the VMU method in a way I'm unfamilar with?

?communication over the internet isn't based on name, appearance, or whatever.?

Unfortunately, this also gives some people the idea that they can be a complete jerk online and get away with it (because no one knows who you really are, unless or course you tell them). A good example would be some of the people who post on PSO World.

Anyhow, going back to the topic, I would prefer not to use real-life pics, mainly because I don?t think I?m very photogenic.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I'm going to have to go with the general consensus on this one. I don't particularly like to see RL pics of people...even if I do, they rarely stick for long. I generally associate the personality with the avatar...or my vision of the avatar, in the case of MUDs (which I play a lot of).

On top of that, I REALLY don't like having my picture taken, so...you get the idea.

I think it's always kind of interesting to see 'em, but hey, not everyone has to look huh? I mean, I'd show you all me, if the only pic I remember where it is wasn't 4 years old. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I'M FOR WHAT ANYONE THINKS.
-YOU WANNA SHOW? SHOW IT.
-YOU WANT TO SEE? SEE!
-'DON'T WANT TO SHOW? DON'T.
-YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE? DON'T LOOK.
PERSONALLY I'D POST MY PIC.
BUT HUMILIATION AND CRITISIZM LURK
AND I'M SCARED SHITLESS BY BOTH.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif
THE OTHER REASONS WHY I DON'T
ARE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TOO MANY
PICS OF ME...OH, AND I TEND TO LOOK A LITTLE YOUNGER THAN MY REAL AGE.
(A PROBLEM MOST OF US ASIANS HAVE)http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif
BTW-Not to sound conceited or anything,
which I'm probably sounding like,
my friends say I look alot like Brandon Lee.http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif

I thinkk that u should be able 2 do what u wnat aswell, its always cool 2 see what people look like, u never know if u might bump into them in the street. I dont think im a very photogenic person, but i would still put up my pic. if people like the photo, fair enough, if they dont like it, its their problem
