When I first got online, I planned to stay legit. I thought duping would ruin the game. Now, I have come to see that the game ruins itself (corruption). For those of you who haven't heard me moan yet, I got corrupted my 2nd time online (level 95 HUcast) and the following two times I went on. All were on Antares.

Now, the irony is that the only person who can make the game fun for me again without the pain is a duper. Basically, they are capable of giving me gear to get me back to my former status (and not necessarily beyond).

I think ST should thank dupers for being able to restore legitimate players who got wiped out by the horribly designed online system of PSO. I still love the game, but it's being more frustrating than fun now, and I just want to get some duped gear to get back to my former OFFLINE glory.

Of course, I can't find anyone to help me yet, and everyone treats me like crap now because I look like a newbie. Most people tell me not to play a FOmar as my "first character" and just say "yeah right" when I tell them I was a legit level 95 HUcast and 108 HUmar. Catch 22.

The more and more corruptions we have, the more I'm starting to think that some kinds of cheating are justified...

Of course, the root reason for the double save being here in the first place is duping so I'm not too sure Sonic Team really has any reason to thank the dupers.

I'm still confused as to why they don't just remove the patch. It shouldn't be that difficult if they know how it was put in (which they should). More people are angrier with corruptions than anyone ever was with duping.

Being a legit who still likes (offline) PSO a lot, I'm going the dupe route. I want to get back what I lost, though. Not really get tons of stuff I never had, because I don't want to ruin the game.

I use a USB card to make backups of my items in case of corruption. There's no way to patch against USB card duplication though.

I think screwing everyone because duping is possible is the wrong way to go. If there is a possibility of cheating, someone is going to do it. Anyone who disagrees needs to take a history class again. Also, if ST makes it so legit players get their characters and items nuked and DOESN'T provide a way to recover from this, then they are half assing their half assedness.

Believe me, if the tech guys knew how to fix the problem, they would've done it. So if the bug is still there, then that means they are still looking for a fix. Programming is one tough bitch to do, and I have sure those guys have to read kilometers of code to find what's going wrong.

From what I gathered, the problem stems from the double-save. This was implemented to stop duping. It corrupts people. Duping still works. The double-save has not been removed.

If they don't have a copy of the system from before they implemented the double-save, they are incompetent as software engineers. Also, they should be able to remove it if they implemented it, backup or no. The other possibility is that they won't (not can't, won't) remove the double-save, and are continuing to screw over legitimate and cheating players alike.

That's all I'm saying.

Yes,Yes. I used to be legit till I also got corrupted..LAGUNA-112(good bye my friend). But then I found out about the wonderful world of people who can dupe. Got my stuff back and much more. So far, even though I got lots of stuff that is impossable to find (ie.Dark Flow, and TJ sword) The game hasnt been ruined for me yet. And I dont think it will.

Bullshit. At least four of the people you mentioned, before corruption, practically had dupes falling out of their ass. I don't know about the others, but you could be lying about them, too.

Don't try to use corruption as some lame excuse to justify their cheating. If they hadn't of used dupes in the first place, they wouldn't have contributed to the massive amount of dupe users, which is why Sonic Team implemented the patch in the first place. What goes around comes around, no?

I get a BBA to get online and turn in my photon drops. Never played online before. My 95 and 108 get corrupted. I get pissed. Someone donates FO stuff and I start over. I get corrupted. I get more pissed. Anyway, I'm on corruption 5 now, in 5 days.

Any reason I deserved that? I might have missed it.

4. people left and right, duper or legit, get corrupted
5. nothing happened to duping, it exists and is still very possible, making the double save useless

Id hate to say it but FSOD and the evil black screen of death started when they made the dbl save. Love dupers and hackers! Theres only like what-300-400? I have PSR but i never use it to dupe or hack...tooo lazy. I would like this so called justification to be obliged as a felony. Albiet it does help newbs it still ruins the game a bit. I'm just saying that people like me who get royally screwed over while totally legit should have an avenue for recovery. Currently, duping is the only way. Pardon me for not being "hardcore" enough to recover from scratch, if many other people do. I would just like to be decent again.

I've never used the term "dirty duper", nor have I claimed that cheaters were incapable of having skill in Challenge or Battle Mode. Nice way to try and boost yourself though, but it's a shame most of the people who claim they're good at chalelnge, really aren't.

Actually, in game FSOD happened long before Double Save came out. I remember the first day that double save was put up, and wondering "Wait, will this corrupt me if I fsod in the game?"

Now in the whole duper/legit thing, I don't want to take either side, however I will provide some points for both:

1: Without dupers everyone would be using some of the worst rares around; because if someone found an uber do you think they are going to trade it? People would be running around with Dragon Slayers, Crush Bullets and Battle Verges instead of TJ Swords, Guld Millas, and Dark Bridges.

2: Had people not duped in the first place none of this would have happened. However, looking at pso's history, we could all see this coming.

3: Things aren't that bad when you compare them to DC! In Dc People could NOL (pretty much a form of corruption) other people themselves! Lets also be happy that people cannot lobby fsod just yet. (lobby fsod happens now, but that is a glitch)

I agree with Goza 100%. This game is supposed to be fun. What fun is it when you have to keep starting with the level 1 bullshit. The truth is, without duping, a lot of people would just throw PSO aside with all their other worn out games. Who wants to keep doing the same thing over and over? I mean most people wanna get to level 200, I havent even been over level 120 because of corruption. Before sega bitches about the game being exploited by dupers, they should try and fix this FSOD bullshit.

I've been corrupted four times so far. The first one is the only one that mattered though. Now I'm operating off of separate memory cards, and I'm going to trade stuff I find to work my way back up.

I'll be offline for a bit, but when I get online, if anyone wants to donate 3 dragon hps (yes, that's all) I can beat hard and vhard in a few hours and start rare collecting again. So far, I've basically found three grass assasin's arms.

Not true. Dragon Slayers? I'm sure some nice SKYLY players would milk Govulmers for Red Swords, and have no problem trading as it'd be a hot item for hunters. Crush Bullet? My 50%hit Charge Arms are overly efficient, thanks very much. And Spread Needle isn't hard to find for some ID's since it can be dropped from Merlan. Battle Verge? I haven't seen a single force use one of these, most have enough common sense to stay away from rods. And most have enough common sense to use things that are actually helpful, like Club of Laconium on Sil Dragon for it's 40% Foie boost, or Magical Piece which is slightly easy to obtain with 50 Photon Drops.

My point: just because you're legit, doesn't mean you're going to endlessly use crap. Sure, the "uber rares" won't be around as much, but most non-retarded players realize you don't need "uber shit" to kick booma ass. Your BKB might be nice, but I'd much prefer some 50%hit Charge Vulcan, which are much more efficient, in most cases.

I agree with Sham. I only have two items I didn't find myself. One, a Kasami bracer which one of my best friends gave me (he's found lots of them, so he didn't mind giving me one when I accidentally sold my shield, lol). Two, I traded a friend of a friend for an S-Berill's #0 (he says he found and then converted the arms) since I already had a Berill Photon from Gallon's Shop.

My current equipment:
Partisan of Lightning (Pinkal Goldragon)
Aura Field (Oran Temple Mil Lily)
Elf/Arm++ (don't remember)
Elf/Arm++ (don't remember)
God/Arm (Vhard Mines, don't remember ID because it was an open game)
Devil/Battle (Oran Ruins Del-D)
Kasami Bracer (Found by friend)
Angel's Wing (the Mag came with my character when I started, I found the Heart of Angel from a St. Rappy)

As you can see, I don't have "total crap rares." I would love it if everyone was legit, because then ubers would really be uber.

I never had a need to use "duped" guns, because my ID gets me the pyscho gun. Only mechs powerful than it, is RED MECHS and the Guld Milla..a good find.

And Vulcan's and 50hit% Rayguns suffice too. (but I'm no where near being "legit" that's a label I don't wont - bring about problems...)

And nine star weapons are painfully overshadowed by pretty much everyone(yes YOU ALL). It's either 10 star+ or it sucks. And if there were not any dupers around, this game would be pure heaven. And NO, everyone would not be running around with Dragon Slayers. Heh, every ID has it's own "signature" 9 star. We'd all have different stuff *rolls eyes*

Anyway, yeah it'd be great if everyone were legit. That's why I like going to JP servers every once in a while, you usually run into people using legit items. There is also a lot of teamwork, and I LOVE their rare system; it fucking owns. No rushing to that red box, everyone shares and decides good rares over a mini-game. I'll never be able to understand why the US/EU have to be such the opposite, and be ignorant, selfish, greedy players who use dupes and are overall, assholes. Yeah, maybe not all of them do this, but majority of the open games you roam into on US/EU servers, are filled with people as previously detailed.

I live near Bonuskun and we've played video games together. If he says he has mastered CMode then I believe him as he has mastered every SNK game. If you played him on any King of Fighters title he'd kick your ass through every country displayed on the background screen.

I hope cheaters fuck the game up for you so much that you cancel your hunters license. Just shut the fuck up and play the game.

Speaking of games, I still would like to return your copy of Nightmare in the Dark you know.

Also I'm not sure if you've stopped by recently but we have KoF 2K2 installed in a one slot cab and man the game is getting a lot of play. If you happen to get some freetime, stop by and let's play a few rounds.

Hehe, yea, I still think about NitD... but our times conflict. I need to head down that way one weekend or evening and just pick it up.

I go to Dobie for lunch a lot during the week and had a chance to play 2k2 a couple of times (that's when no one else is playing it). I like it, but have trouble pulling off the special. I'll get it.

Get anything new? Have you tried Matrimelee? And who's copy of Rage of the Dragons was in the arcade for a while?

I've not gotten anything new recently. I'm trying to source a copy of MPIE but it's getting hard to find it. I did get a copy of Savage Reign on MVS so there's that but all in all nothing major has come about.

I'm looking forward to SvsC Chaos but all in all my Neo gaming has slowed down a lot this past year. You're welcome to come steal Savage Reign from me for awhile if you want to try it.

Okay this my side I agree that the coruption thing is very anoying, but think what if the coruption was caused by the items you got. Even though you got it from dupers and they just copied it what if the got it from a hacker who made the item corupt for the 3 time it was traded? But if you had what happende to me some one turning of the gc when you save thats dif.
but I say this be legit is hard ot do! One good legit doesn't acept one or more items for free. I can say I'm not legit for i have taken an item and just got mine back. I know now that most people are sick of rares that they get and want new ones but don't give them away. Thats what makes the legits non-legits. get it?
So i don't want to take sides but getting items from dopers is not very well good. if you tade them some thing than fine. but I think some one should open a shop. like one were you bye sell stuff for maseta and buy stuff from them for mestea . I would like to but sadly i'm not going to play online for much longer. I wish some one would do that for the poeple who get corupted data! thats all I ask!
