Obviously this cannot be implemented in the curreny PSO,but maybe it be use in PSO2 or the rumored append disk if possible.

Basically they way it would work is to have save points. One in town and maybe one per dungeon/section. The save points and saving when you quit would be the only time you save.

This system is not fool proof though. It could be easy to back up to another vmu by saving switching vmu and saving again just in case of curruption. This would also make dupeing easier which is basically an unavoidable situation in my opinion, but would let you keep your character if a reset were to hit. Of there is always someone who will abuse this, but i would rather have dupers running rampant then lose a lvl 100 character.

The way I see the current save system is as one continuous save. This make the save file very sensitive and easy to currupt. I think when you are in city, battle or whatever online or off the game is constanly saving 3 important things:equipped items, bank item/meseta, and current stats. This may be why you only lose unequipped items when hit with BSOD which is avoidable and screen freeze which is not.

When the DC resets though character lose is certain because its almost like ripping your vmu from your controller during a save. There is also a chance of character loss from the 2 above.

The server places a time stamp on your character when you exit. This is saved on the VMU. You cannot use a backup or alter your character's attributes due to this change. This change was made because of the dupers and the gamesharkers. It's sort of evening out the playing field. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif
