It all started with Survivor-and it will never end.

Reality TV continues to sink to new lows, all trying to cash in on a new breed of viewers.

I about barfed when I saw the previews for a new (Fox?) reality show called Paradise Hotel. The um..."story"? is about 12 people pulled from the local porn movie-thrown into a hotel to get it on within a week or they get booted from the show.

What the hell has American society come to? The sad thing is alot of people watch these-and there is ATLEAST one of them on every network.

I'm really looking forward to Paradise Hotel, I can't wait until __________ hooks up with ___________ and then that stupid guy ___________ gets kicked off the show.

F*ck reality.

Agreed. These shows get stupider by the week.

Real reality TV would be watching someone sitting on their couch with the remote, possibly half naked, eating some food while changing the channel sometimes.

Hell, we could make bets on if they finish their meal or not http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Not that it matters, but Real World started it all which spun off Road Rules / RW/RR Challenges. Then came Survivor, I believe, and other networks saw it's success and decided to make shitty variations of Reality Shows. Joe Millionaire? That BS show with the masked guy? A show about a bunch of people on a vacation high school reunion like anyone fucking cares? The sad thing is most of these half-assed shows are successful. Well.. except for about 90% of the ones produced by the WB.

Side Note: Jervace(or however you spell it) from Survivor lives across the street from me.

Nah, I need to get my fix of Adult Swim doing the Aquateen Hunger Force theme song with the black and white cards.

Oh, yeah, and Lupin, Inuyasha, and Rurouni Kenshin are good shows too.

Screw reality. Fantasy rules.

You really can't go wrong with Lupin.

Although, I find Reign creepily interesting...

The reality is that people are doing one of three things:
1. Working
2. Sitting on the couch and watching this shit
3. Starving and dying
There is no one in REAL reality who's going to be doing anything you see on "reality" TV.
Some people say its not about whether its realistic or not, its that the people aren't actors and they got pulled into an entertaining situation. The only entertaining part will be seeing them on the news complaining about getting an STD from the show.
THAT, I'll watch. =)

"Reality" TV, as it's known, is little more than voyeuristic softcore...

hahahaha you guys should check the crap they have the public watching over here in Scotland - Big Brother 4!!!! DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!!!!

It wouldn't piss me off so much if it wasn't mind-numbingly boring, but aaargh!!!!!!

There's a fat, boring, whiney cheif, a whore who lacks two brain cells to rub together, a pillock shovanist who has himself pinned as God's gift, a Scottish ailen who sounds like a preteen micky mouse on helium and last but not least... a loner sporting a worryingly premature receding hairline, who likes to talk to himself.

All those in favour of reinstaring capitol punishment in Scotland raise your hands!!!

*shoves curling tongs up contestant's asses*

The only decent "reality" show I ever saw was the first and second editions of The Mole.

I totally agree though, fantasy is the best genre of TV.

Lucky! Here up in Canada we get:
Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Pokemon, Hamtaro, Dragonball GT and the rest are just crappy anime shows.

I've watched the Japanese versions of Inuyasha all the way up to episode up to 102 ... Lupin, never heard of. Rurouni Kenshin, have to check that out!

Im looking forward to buying all 26 episodes of Excel Saga on DVD, its worth watching about 10 times over cuase its SO FUCKING HALARIOUS!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif The BEST comedy anime I've seen so far! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

It all started with Big Brother really, which was brutally stolen from a very, very good book called 1984 by a dutch company called Endemol. Only the Dutch could do seomthing so... *sigh*
