To do all of my PSO and other art works, I usually pencil, pen, clean and scan the work before doing coloring in Photoshop or Elements.

However, my scanner is super-ancient. (It is so old in fact, that it takes 3 passes of a colored light-bar to create images...havn't seen that since the stone age or something) Also, it dosn't work on any pencil drawing, sketch, or anything too light. Which is also dissapointing, because I've seen some cool looking pencils posted around here, and I can never do that with this old rig.

So what do any PSO artists around here use? Is there anything you would recommend to buy, or something to stay away from? What do -you- use to scan your art?

I hear you rather get what you pay for with scanners (IE: Cheap ones break your PC/misread color information/wear out in 6 months etc)I just want something moderatly priced that does the job well. And the opinions of people who use them for Artwork scans, not just photos or as some office copier. Any feedback is appriciated.

I use a Hpscanjet 4470c and I am deffinitly satisfied with it. Its extremely easy to use and its just the right size for art works. (certian scanners as you know have work purposes) I would def reccomend it. Probably not the best, but definitly not the worst. My only complaint might be that the glass is kind of small.
