Something sorta bothers me though, it looks like characters might carry over with the characters being all over 100. Dont get me wrong I would like to be able to carry my stuff over, but with all this duping and cheating I'd rather they just start over :/

Looks incredible! Seems like Sega listened to everybody about having a larger variety of environments. Hope they do the same thing with the enemies. I'd hate to run into variations of the "shark" creatures all over again in PSO2. Oh, and broadband support is a must for PSO2.

I still dunno how they can add such things as levels, models and new features on a system without mass storage media (i.e. Hard Disk). Either it's a substitute disk (use instead of PSO disk), or the data is stored somewhere. but hey, like I said when my BBA started working, if it works don't ask questions!

I would just like to stress that this is not PSO2. Its more of Pso version 2. Its an appendix disk (aka Expansion Pack), so this isnt PSO 2. What it is, is an expansion pack were u carry over ur previous character to this Game. its an add on. There are 2 more levels, more wepaons, more enemies, a Versus mode which was shown in one of the pics, and you can even play soccer in the lobbies! God i hope this come out in the US. Here are some of the KNOWN features...

2 (maybe more?) additional Levels.
More Character Costumes
More Wepons
Games in Lobby
Versus mode (I heard somehting about capture the flag?)
More Mags ( Do you see that Master system!)
Additional Enemies
Cloning, and cheating all together is blocked (ugh they will probably find a way past it... Damned hackers!)
Max level now 200
Ultimate difficulty level
More roles?( i supose this means more quests)
And will be released in Japan in May 15th!.. (pretty soon huh!)

So i would just like to stress once again that this is more of an add on then a sequel.

Yuji Naka said that there wasn't enough time to make PSO as huge and diverse as he wanted to, maybe this disc is the realization of the original goal. And NOT just a bunch of bug fixes that everyone seems to think it is.

I bet the 'Append' disc will be a self contained GD-Rom, that has all the original PSO content on it as well as the new stuff. Who knows though, until more details surface.

Can only hope that they took a lot more thought this time. If there's actually going to be PKing and they still left in loopholes for the sharkers or any other cheaters, then I can forsee a lot of screams of "this *!@$& just KILLED me while hunting!"

Other then the prospect of the PK stuff (never been a fan of it in a world of "big mouths - no talent", from my Battlezone days), the append disk sounds and looks pretty amazing. Just hoping that I don't get banned because I accepted some duped items on one of my chars when it comes out (I know, I know, you don't have to tell me, I'm already into the moral dilemma on it, and I know responsibility too, so I'm not going overboard with that spread needle in my wandering games, just my Quick Hunts).

You know? I'v been wondering about that. I would have to say that a good 90% of the trading regulars have at least a few dupes in on their char. No, i'm not saying "they" duped them.. What i'm saying is that if you trade with people, 9 times out of 10 you're getting a duplicated item. Does this make it an illegal item? IMO? No. You aren't the one doing the cheating. You are the innocent trader out there just looking for decent items.
The question is.. How will sega's new security measures react to these items? If the system simply went through, looked at everyone inventory and said "Oh! Duper! *BAN*", we would lose a good 2/3rds of the PSO community. I'm not sure sega has the balls to do that, and if they did.. they'd be ripped off my mobs of angry gamers.. o.O

I'm not ashamed to say that i'v accepted items from higher lvls than me. Are they duped? I have no way to be sure, but i do know that "I" didn't dupe them. Therefore.. i could really care less..

Hmmm... about the VS/PK matches...

They could set up a system like: Before the match, you choose your weapon (so you won't have to worry about losing your own), maybe with benefits/penalties.. Like say, if I had the choice of a Varista, a VISK, and a Spread Needle.

If I choose the Varista, I have a speed bonus, but I wouldn't have the range of the other two. If I choose the VISK, I can snipe from anywhere, but my reaction time is slower. If I choose the Spread Needle, I can hit lots of targets quickly, but maybe it gives me a reduction in my total HP...... To give this some balance....

The VS/PK thing is a "mode", correct? If so, they will probably..(hopefully).. disable item and money drops upon character death when playing under the specified rules. You know what would be really fun tho? Get like 8 or more ppl in a PSO game, divide them up by charclass groups, and have little wars in battlefield arena rooms. *drool* o.o

I wouldn't worry too much, versus 'mode' most likely means you have to go into a versus game to attack other players, not that people can attack you anywhere.
I hope the 'max' stats go up. Otherwise going up to level 200 wouldn't be much. The way things look from my stats, I'm not at 100 yet, but some of my numbers are high. If the system still only goes up to 999, lots of stats would be going much higher and it would be rather hard to compare.

I suspect that the way PSO.v2 will work is much in the same way Grand Theft Auto London worked on Playstation. You loaded GTA London, took it out and replaced it with GTA (original), took that out, then replaced GTA London in...

Fargo, yes DEFINATELY, that is what I've been thinking all along. I'm thinking you'll need both to play. I'm sure the original will work on its own, but to get the new features, you'll need both.

Also interesting to note in the Arena picture, there is a timer at the top of the screen just like the ones you see on certain quests that have a time limit. Perhaps there is a certain time in which the fight takes place and when the timer hits 0'00"00 whoever has the most HP left is the winner?

I agree with Oronis, group vs. group battles would be so cool,and i like the idea of betting too, I dunno if this sounds wacky but i think it would be cool to pick what moves you use in your combos,does that sound wacky?
Oh well! I just hope ill be able to use my chara in the version 2 game =)

As much as I hate PvP in other games (I had a rep in Diablo 1 as a pretty good dueler. Anyone here ever heard of a Rydia_Stormhand?) I would love to see it done properly in PSO. I am a "photon efficiency" junkie, and I still believe that a good 9-star weapon with a powerful (45% or more) efficiency rating can beat an ultra rare (Like a needle) anyday. So I'd LOVE to prove that theory in a game of fair, one-on-one combat.

But heres the kicker folks:

Cheating will never be stopped. Eventually, the GS'ers WILL break the append Disc as well, and then what of PvP? How would you know your friend isn't using a dupe? Sure, you say we should just "Trust" our friends, but I had 8 people I gamed with before coming to PSO World, and all of them are Blatant Cheaters. So Blatant they even mail me asking me to give them items to dupe.

You can't have Dueling unless it's without cheating, and once cheating came into the Diablo 1 equation, dueling died as a result http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif

Unless it's possible to solve VMU save editing without a patch/update disc, I'm not sure that PSO v2 can really do much in the way of stopping cheaters. Assuming that item duping and character editing will be non-existent in PSO v2 itself, you'll still be able to import import characters. This does nothing to stop people from cheating with their original characters and then importing those.

A lot of good things can still happen between now and then.
