Hello. I'll be honest, I'm not much of a fanfic sorta guy, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Eh... so here, just read.
"He fell to the ground, plummeting with the force of a thousand ton titan. When he fell, his body dissipated and it came out, glimmering like the thousand words she wished she could have spoken. I picked it up, looked at it, and felt intrigued by the crimson glow it gave off. It was a warm, homey sort of feeling; it was like looking into Rico's eyes. So, I placed it into my pocket and came back here.
"It's been about four days since then, but I'm not so sure the government has made any statements about it. Rumors are still flying like the Pioneer 2," he said, holding the ring between his outstretched fingers on each hand.
"That's amazing, Cecil! You mean..." he began, but he was quickly cut off.
"Yeah, I've finally found the cause to the problems on Ragol. It's over now, we'll all be off this rat-hole in a matter of months, possibly weeks," Cecil told him.
"No, no, no, what I was going to ask you was... well... is that really the famous Red Ring Rico?s band?"
Cecil looked up in a confused fashion. After a moment, he grasped on to what Maddox had asked him, and his eyes went back into their gloomy state. "I'm afraid to say it is. When I walked Ragol, Rico had left messages everywhere. You know, I never really met her, but when I hold this ring - when I feel the warm pulse - sometimes it feels like I actually knew her."
Maddox's eyes grew with excitement, "Aw come on! Let me hold it, just for one second-" he began to yell.
"Damn it Maddox, I told you to keep it down! You have no idea what some people would do to get their hands on this?!"
"Sorry about that..." he regretfully muttered. "Oh man! It's already three o'clock?!"
"Well, yeah, you have a watch y'know-"
"Oh man, oh man, oh man!" he said, as he got up and slipped his pack over his shoulder. "My mom is gonna kill me! We were supposed to go shopping at two, and, agh! I don't have time to explain, gotta go!"
"See ya kid," Cecil muttered as Maddox clumsily sprinted off. He slipped the ring into his side pouch and got up. Around him were the everyday pedestrians who roamed the aisles of the Pioneer 2. He had felt cramped and decided he would make his way home to take a rest.
When he got back, he opened his side pack, took out the ring, closed it again, and hung it on the wall. He walked over to his sofa and sat down on it, hunched over, twirling the ring in his hands. The light in the corner projected the ruby glow right below his eyes, and the luminance changed as he rotated it.
Suddenly, there was a loud thumping on the door. Behind it Cecil could hear an android muttering a set of subtle, yet demanding phrases. He quickly slipped the ring into his pocket and went up to the peep hole on the door. "Open this door Afriea, I need to talk to you!" Cecil twisted the lock, opened the door and was greeted by a well built, pointy headed Ranger. "Well, well, looks like the hermit came out to talk. You know, you never used to stay cramped up in this old shanty."
"F.A., what are you doing here?" Cecil questioned.
"You know, I've heard some rumors around here. Something about Ragol finally being cleared. Know anything about that, Afriea?"
"You didn't answer my question."
"Listen you little-"
"No you listen here - I am in mood to be shoved around by the likes of you, now get off of my property before I call the police," he said, and attempted to slam his door. The android had firmly lodged his foot in between the wall and the door, leaving a near two-foot crack. He pushed on the door with little effort and sent it swinging open.
"Let me cut to the chase, pal. Word has it that you found one of Rico's rings, and I just might want that ring. Y'see, I can give you a fair price, or I can you my price."
"Why would you be interested in a ring? Selling yourself to a buyer again?"
"That's why they call me Free Agent, my friend. Now cough it up."
"I don't think you're going to be leaving with anything I own," Cecil said, as he sat down in a chair. The android walked closer, towering over him. He put his enormous hand on the table and removed it, leaving only a Vulcan.
"Are we sure about that?"
Can't promise I'll finish it, but if people feel they want me to go on, who knows, y'know?
P.S. - Sorry, indentation doesn't seem to be working, hmm...
