Well after about a half a year offline I have made up my mind and I think that I am going to get the BBA and pay the 9 dollars a month for me to be online. I have no idea when I am going to do this, but I am pretty sure that I want to. Even with all the dupes and hackers and cheaters because hey this game is the bomb and I want some social interaction. So with that in mind can everyone give me some pointers and stuff for online play because I have really no idea of what to expect.

Actualy the only thing I really didnt imediatly understand when going online was what a tp was lol.
When someone asks for a TP they are asking for a telepipe.

Only other thing I can think of is the Ship Block Lobby navigation.
Every Ship has 10 blocks
Every Block has 15 lobbies
If your in the same block as someone then you can join the same team as them, but you cant talk to them directly if your in different lobbies.
Use the same manners you would use in any online situation. "L337" however isnt appreciated.

Well the first month is free, but 9$ is good considering some online games out there.

I would gladly pay nine-dollars a month to play online. I can't find a Dial-Up Adapter, though.

Well Everquest (thank god I'm no longer addicted) was about 20$ a month and there were about 2 huge expansions a year that you felt left out without, so theres an extreme case of expensive online gaming.

$20?! I'm surprised people actually pay that!
Must be addicting....

Lol, cant say I didnt do that once or twice. I never got to see alot of the EQ world but I remember the ship rides from continent to continent taking about 30 minutes. I belive I kept myself occupied with fishing and eating doritoes.

That's what my Fed EX drives says about EQ. Alsways tells me it like crack and time for me to hit the pipe. Luckily peer pressure doesn't affect me...
Back on PSO... Good move on getting online, you won't regret it.

Bingo, its also commonly reffered to as "evercrack". Ok I think we strayed far enough off topic.
Another good hint for anyone is not to beg for items, though if you've been playing for half a year then I doubt you'll need to worry about that.

When your selecting ships/blocks/games, press the B button(I think, I forget for gamecube) to see how many people are on that ship/block/game.
Oh and to get into a full block go to the start menu, then to Chat, then Guild Card, then Choice Search, then cick search without filling out any of the requisits. Then a list of player names should come up, and next to them it will sya what block they are on. Select a player thats on the full block and click on meet player, and youll get transported there.
And also when leaving games deposit all your weapons that are unequipped so if by chance you get frozen or something you wont loose any of your favorite rare weapons.

A few tips...
1)You can sit in chairs in the lobby to http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
X+A and X+B give you different ways of sitting.
2)Avoid Vega.
3)If you do goto Vega never follow a shady looking character into their game they my jump you... nah just kidding just Say no to dupes.
4)Be informed, don't trade if your not sure its a dupe. (Unless you'd rather have dupes...)
5)Be polite, and don't go all Batman minus the Robbin(Solo).
6)Try not to carry to much good stuff unequiped.
Due to FSOD and such. Theres afew guides around here that give to some good info on preventing loss of items.
7)MAKE FRIENDS... its the most important part of game play to me.
