View Full Version : A "Kick" Feature is Nice..But What About "Invisible"?

I have seen a post here back when I first joined (OH how long ago...hehe) about someone requesting that a "Kick" feature be added to PSO's game rooms by way of the append disk. However, there were questions raised about the effectiveness of such an act. Someone, for instance, brought up the question of, "What if someone boots you after you drop your trade item on the ground"?

However, after a couple incidents I experienced tonight, I think an "Invisible" command, like the one you might Fight on ICQ for instance, would be a much better idea...

Case in point: I spent most of the afternoon playing with Cheech, another PSO World member, and out of an act of kindness to other PSO World'ers who might see our game on Puck 9, we left the game open and unlocked.

Thats when the trouble started.

Someone named Jmoney ventured into our game, and for at LEAST 45 minutes, verbally assaulted Cheech, demanding that the short, orange guy (hehe) trade with him like he said he would.

First of all, Cheech was away eating dinner, and put a rubber band on his controller to prevent from getting Idled out of the game, so the first 15 minutes of the 45 minutes Jmoney ruined our game, he was shouting at a person who wasn't even on their Keyboard to respond.

Sure, me and Emperor Rage COULD have left the game, but Cheech was still there, and we were on our way to the caves and finding some good items as well.

To compound this matter, I had a friend who wanted in the game, but Jmoney was taking up the fourth slot.

Jmoney then followed Cheech around by way of his guild card until cheech finally was forced to leave!

I also have a PSO "stalker" who is mad at me for refusing to play with him since he dupes.

Basically, what I'm saying is...can we PLEASE get an "Invisible" option so I can appear to be offline to the people who I no longer want to associate with? 8 friends who I used to game with are now hard-core cheaters, and I REALLY wish they'd leave me alone.

*sigh*

Rant over. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif

Good, Idea. But I would like to be able to "take" my card away, or be able ignore users. Also, a DND mode for the email would kick ass too.

It is indeed a good idea, but it's also an advantage to thieves and cheaters. They can just "give" the card to anyone to think they can be trusted and just block everyone off afterwards... Yeah i would like an invisible options too but I think its better off suffering rather than giving the thieves and cheaters more advantage than they already have.

Yeah, but theft and cheating isn't much of an issue to me, because I no longer trade with people I don't trust, and I no longer play with people I don't trust. Besides, why steal something when you can make it from a GS? Theft is going down and cheaters are forming into their own bands. Just stay away from them and you're good to go.

I'd rather have players that can make them selves invisible to stalkers who have thier guild card even though it would mean that hackers/thieves could so the same.

Hey Enchantress http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I do understand what she is saying though. During the first few weeks of PSO, There was a movement amongst us gamers to ask for the card of a player before even LETTING them enter the transporter to Ragol....

The reason being that they wanted to be able to track (And bug the snot out of) whomever stole from them. But, that went the way of the dodo.. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif

I agree with Spy on this though: I could care less what the cheaters do. IT'll end up being like how Diablo 1 was: After a few months, those who are "pure" (In all its variations) will clump together, and all those who are dirty cheats will lump together as well.

Actually, they have, it's called OBeron, Block 1 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Sorry we didn't get a chance to play Echantress.....tommorow we will. I promise.
