I don't know, extended max level of 200 for all characters doesn't really make much sense to me. If this "append disk" is true, how will they do the level extension? I mean once you hit level 100 (which I believe is at 2,300,000 exp - at least for my RaMar it was), you still continue to earn exp. So let's just say you have 9,999,999 exp (if that's the max, I don't know yet, still at 3,000,000 - haven't played much since I hit 100 about 2-3 weeks back) by the time the append disk is released. What happens when you import your character? Does your level automatically pop to level 200 or whatever level is equivalent to exp. earned? If it doesn't how will your exp. meter still go up when it is maxed? If it does, then what about stats? I mean, how will they determine how much stats you get from 100-200 (or whatever level) since it is randomly generated within a certain boundary each level. I guess they could do it like a multiply ATP 50 (levels above 100) x 3-4 (stats you get from level up - randomly generated), but that seems kind of cheesy. I mean I'd like to see each individual level earned, not just jump suddenly to 158 or something. Anyway, just pointing out my skeptisism upon this unofficially announed append disk. Any thoughts?

Too many good topics here, And I cant miss good Convo. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif
You know, I was thinking about that too (Yes, 2.3 million is level 100) because my character recently hit 3 Million Exp, and I was having a good laugh with the notion that I might just buy the append disc so I could gain 30 levels by just switching disks. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif
The Pic with the dragon looks seriously fake. Heck, I did a pic with Sonic the Hedgehod in Phantasy Star 2. It was so believable, It become the signature on more then a few boards. ( it was a Good ice breaker) bottom Line? Anything is possible with photoshop and half a brain http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif
However, the bottom shot, with the Master System mag, and the pic of the characters fighting each other in a desrt-style town....I find it hard to believe they are fake.
I guess we'll see soon enough?

I suppose so, those screenshots do look to be fairly realistic, if not it sure is doctored really well (I'm majoring in Graphic Design and I would totally envy whoever doctored it - if it is doctored). Just remember though, April 1st comes up fairly soon... So we could all be played for fools. By the way, is skepticism spelled skeptisism or skepticism? Bugging the heck out of me cause I can't remember... All those years of honors english down the drain.

First off if its real the lv 200 will probally work like this. you will drop back to 2.3 mil xp no matter what you are at when you load the append disk. It just makes sense.

</td></tr></table>I just have one comment: If the stat cap is still 999, what's the point?
I would assume they would raise the max above 999. Otherwise everyone will have half their stats there. As for the level thing, I would guess you have to 'earn' the new levels by playing more, and not just 'poofing' there based on your current EX.
I looked over the screen shots to see if anyone had over 1000 HPs, but no one did. But they seem to be over the current 'max' HPs, or am I wrong?

Bit of an off - kilter thought here, but along with all the level extensions (and personally I reckon it'll level you up according to experience - but believe me I doubt anyone has the experience yet to leap to the 200 mark - though if the anti-cheating code ST are supposedly placing on the append v. works as it should, level 200'ers should be given mucho respect...gah bit of a tangent there, now I've forgotten what I was gonna say... back in a mo...
***
right, sorry 'bout that (hate it when that happens).
My original thought was whether or not anyone reckoned Sonic Team would get rid of the rather annoying and pointless meseta limit - If the games going to fling the yellow stuff at us in such ludicrous quantities (And I'm not even a Yelloboze...*shudder*), ST should at least let us keep it all. I carry over 500,000 M since I maxed out my Locker room limit...
My latest thought is of whether or not the new monsters in these 2 new areas will have a higher experience point in normal mode, than say Monsters in the Ruins in V.Hard...?
Otherwise, it's gonna be a bit boring for High level original PSO'ers just wading through enemies far too weak to stand up to them just so they can get to 'Ultimate' mode...
I mean, alot of people are bound to buy 'packages' of PSO + v.2 when it comes out this summer, but there's going to be sooooo many PSO'ers out there already looking for a new challenge. I've had PSO since feb. 26th and I'm already level 50...
see what I mean? Character corruption aside, I'll definatley be lvl 100 by the time v.2 hits the shelves.
I just hope they get the multi-national release date right this time. The English release of PSO was so late...

</td></tr></table>After closer inspection of the pictures, I noticed that in one picture, a force happens to have over 1000 TP. So it looks like the max for stats will be increased.
Here (http://ga-media.ign.com/media/2001/march/pso2/11.jpg) is the picture I am referring to.

I bet you would keep all your exp, but still start off at level 100.

I doubt you'd keep your current exp. and remain at level 100. If you did, Sega would sure have a hard time determining what how much exp. a character should have to be level 101. I think I'm going to have to agree with Ambrai that they'll drop your exp back down to 2.3 million, starts to make sense to me that way.

My force has 1135 TP. It's very easy for programmers to just increase your level base on the experience you already have. Like a round off equation. If you have this total exp then you're at this level.

But your EXP level is only a basic glance at what your stats are, that's all it means. So if you had 3 million EXP and they drop it to 2.3 million, it makes no difference at all, unless they went and decreased your stats, which I doubt they would do.
So I think they would let the *poof* Level 130 thing work. What's wrong with them doing that? People will have earnt it. They can increase the enemy EXP gain and make larger EXP differences between levels, so that it isn't too easy to just do that.
There, everyone's happy.

</td></tr></table>Erp, I didn't realize that. I just assumed that TP would be capped at 999 like virtually everything else is. Just sum it up to my never actually playing a force.

Ver.2 will be cool to get if you are already at 100. Because then you got something to play for. I wander if they are gonna add more rare items or mags. I also wander if you don't buy the new ver. could you still play the new Ultra Hard mode? And how about that funny new soccer game that you can play in the lobby, whats that all about? So many questions and yet We're not even sure if it will hit the States. I wander.................

You know, almost nothing is capped at 999
ATP only looks like its capped at 999
a better weapon at 999 does more damage than a weak one at 999. Shifta raises you past 999. Only the readout stays at 999, but internally it is clearly higher.
I suspect that PSO v2 will fix the readout max.
I also suspect that it will be a "poof, level 120" thing. Although they could get slick and do something half-way, like cut the leveling exp in half for those that are over 2.3 mil until they have "caught up" and are at the level that that they would have been if they started at 2.3 instead of 3 or 4 mil.

hmmm i seriously doubt the Lv up system on the append disk will be a "POOF! Lv168" thing.
What would be so unplausable about when you pop your ported char onto Ver 2 that, it will simply say 10,000 exp needed to get to Lv101?
that's what could happen, just a theory that i hope is true, cause in my opinion it would really suck to pop up to a high Lv without being able to do a lot of fighting in the new areas,
cause to me It's sorta boring being at Lv100, and not advanceing through battle, all i do is look for materials, and rare items. But i still have a lot of fun, playing and searching for them, and helping other Lv up.
What I'm really looking forward to is the Vs. Mode, i can't wait to match my skill against some of the other PSO players,
You hear that people?!?
When Ver 2 comes out, All challenges welcome!
