You can't trust anything Mozilla tells you.

Who's Mozilla?

in short, mozilla is the base of most browsers - most commonly known to be the base of IE and Netscape

for example, grabbing the bowser types from some statistics...

Mozilla 4 (MSIE 6.0)
Mozilla 4 (MSIE 5.5, AOL 8.0)
Mozilla 5

the top two are IE. one of them is AOL, that probably proves what i was told about AOL's browser actually being nothing more than IE with a different look and some little addons.

the third one is 'my' browser. the actual 'base' component.

the only major browser a while back than wasn't actually a mozilla based one was opera or whatever it was called - mozilla itself resembles netscape more than IE, and the version i have even comes packaged with a netscape skin.

that in short says nothing. mozilla.org (http://www.mozilla.org) can give you a little more information about it, if you actually care.

Edit: you'll notice that the numbers on the pages don't conform, but, in the 'about mozilla' part under its 'help' menu it confirms that even though it says 1.x it is actually using the 5 engine. or whatever.
