I played online on my friend's gamecube using his Hunter's License, but now that I try to get online on my own gamecube, I can't change the serial number and access key for my game

I didn't know it would record his serial number and access key on my memory card when I played

Is there any way to change the serial number and access key on my game to mine, instead of his without having to delet my charcters?

It recorded his S/N on your card...
The only person who could help you is barubary6.
Other than that, You'd have to remake all your characters. :X

I thought that the serail number and access keys were also ocked to your charatcer once you had taken it online, although someone posted on here that if you delete your Guild card file in the gamecubes memory card manager you can enter new serial numbers and access keys.

try it and post your results here.

In a similiar topic i posted the same exact problem. VioletSkye was the one who mentioned to me to delete the guild card file and I would be able to enter my information. Needless to say it didnt work...http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_bash.gif

Here is what I did and YES IT WORKS.
1. Open the lid on your Gamecube and turn it on.
2. Gon into the Gamecube's memory card menu and find the file "GUILDCARD_FILE" then erase it.
3. Close the lid on your Gamecube and start the game.
4. When the game first loads up it will say it is creating a new Guildcard file, atferwards it wil take you to the openning screen where it says "PRESS START"
5. Press Start then press "ONLINE GAME" If you don't have the network info file already continue reading, otherwise go to step 6.

I erased my network info beforehand so I could walk through this step with you.

If you do not already have the network info set up, it wil take you to that menu and ask you to "Select the Slot containing the memory Card with the network information file you want to use." I choose Slot A.
It then said "There is no network information file on the Memory Card located in Slot A. Do you want to create a new network information file?"
I choose yes and the network info file was created.
It will then ask you if you want to use that network inforamtion file. I choose yes. Then it took me to the "NETWORK SEUP MENU" I just choose return to game (I'm using BBA btw). Then press start and select ONLINE GAME.

6. Choose the character you want to use and press confirm.

7. Now you should see the AGREE/DISAGREE screen that tells you, you need to have purchased a Hunter's License in order to play online. So if you haven't done that then either go back to the main menu and press and select WEBSITE or go to :
http://www.sega.com/pso_gcn (For Gamecube owners.)

8. After you have a Hunter's License select Agree

9. NOW it will ask you for the SERIAL NUMBER. enter that and select register.

10. Next it will ask for your Access Key. Enter that and select register.

11. Finally it will ask for your password, which is the one you used to create a hunters license. It will ask if what you entered is correct, If so hit YES. Then it will ask if you want the password saved to your memory card. I choose yes.

12. You're all done!! It will then begin to log you on.

I have a request for you because something doesnt seem right. Put in all of you info violet and then actually get onto one of the ships thereby saving your info onto the card. Now after you quit delete your GUILDCARD file. Then go try to go online again. See whenever i delete the GUILDCARD file and try to go online it never prompts me to enter new serial numbers. So I dont see what you are doing that is different from me.

A little more info would help. Like what happens when you try to go online. Describe the scenario you get after hitting the Online option.

Well, basically after deleting by guild card file (I decided that since i have the BBA too that I would follow every step and re-do my network info) I pick online game and pick my char, hit that i agree, and then it just signs me onto the servers. I feel like an idiot because I dont see why it is not letting me put in my serial number and access code and password like you say it should

Hmmmm that is weird. I have the first release of the game and I know that there was a second US release of the game. From what I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong anybody) the differences mainly deal with some address locations in the game code and a few minor tweaks. Its possible (though I can't say for sure) that if you have the second release, my guide may not work for you. Without getting into any hacking info, I can say for sure that the guildcard contains the serial and access key info (it also contains the access key and serial for everyone you received a card from http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif ) Anyway, I'll try it again with a newer copy of the game and see if I can get it to work. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
