I'm Leaving Puck 9. (Long Rant)

Now, before I start this rant, let's make two things clear to all my fellow PSO-W people out there:

#1: I am still a fan of this site, and still plan to play with, and actively search out people from PSO World (Spy, Mina, Danger Girl..hehe) And I still plan to post here, nothing will stop that http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

#2: I in no way intend to make a flame war out of this, so this post will be as civil as I can keep it, and direct any "Flames" to be sent to your monitor screen rather then the keyboard. Thank you.

Tonight was a great night. I met Mina (Finally!) and had a great couple of games with Shir and Rage, but something happened today that made it impossible for me to enter Puck 9:

LAmers throwing around spells in the lobby, thanks to the new Xploder cheat. Now, normally, I didn't have THAT much of a problem with this. I encountered it last night, but just ran to Lobby 2 where no one was and successfully avoided the lamers. (Like Gidget)

However, tonight, I heard a disturbing conversation once I got into Lobby 1, Puck 9:

Lamer #1: Yo yo...is that one of them?
Lamer #2: Is that guy one of them?
Lamer #3: Yeah, PSO World is gay
Lamer #2: Gayer then richard simmons
LAmer #1: Yeah, his name is Sheo Somethin
Lamer #2: BSOD him, freeze him now.
*I start to run to the lobby teleport*
Lamer #3: He's running! Hurry

They chased me to lobby 2, and eventually I had to run to another ship (Which shall remain nameless) and bring my PSO World friends with me.

Now, this is sick. These little kids come to this site, get insanely jealous of us for having a legit, cheat-free dupe-free environment where maturity and decency reign supreme, and then do their little tricks just to "spit in our face"

I once once a member of a very large (300 member) UO guild that shall remain nameless, and we suffered the same problem. Although our site could be viewed by outsiders, they could not post, and MANY, MANY lamers would taunt, tease, and harass our members within the game instead. It was so bad that many of our members left the game altogether.

I would just like to say, to those sad, sorry, pathetic little children who are freezing people in puck 9 (It's not happening in any other server that I know of...yet) just to get back at us PSO-World'ers for having fun: "Get A Life"

From now on, all of my friends will see me on a different server and a different block. Message me during the game, and I will gladly tell you where to meet me from now on.

Now, this isn't harmless "fun". Anything that results in a possible lock-up is not fun. I spent half an hour in puck 9 trying to convince some perverted Dragon Ball Z addicted knucklehead that his Spell trick was disrecptful and lame, but his feeble brain couldn't understand such simple facts. >http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_frown.gif

I know this will get flames, and you'll all think im a jerk, but you know, this ticks me off, because even my friends who came to puck 9 were getting ticked off. I know one who couldn't join our game in time because some numbskull froze him at the lobby desk.

Sorry you're having trouble hon. I got disconnected in our game and had some troubles when I tried to reconnect. So I went to see what a Force Numan Female (I can never remember those 'class' things) was like. Still plan on gettin' Shir up there before getting serious, but since I couldn't connect I needed something to do with my time. She's level 2 now, so you all better watch out!
I'll be sure to look you up. "Where" has never been important to me, "Who" is more important. I like being wish friends. Guess I got disconnected before the junk started happening, when I was in the lobby being molested by Rage, I just saw a few fire spells fly by.

See, thats what makes people like Naver so jealous (I just read that thing about him below) They see people like us becoming friends, and getting much more enjoyment out of PSO then Sega had planned. Well, that and they have no real skill..ahem, but I digress.

Well, I wanted to throw people off Twin, so I put UO. Though I did play UO (I joined a guild, but they didn't last long) The one in question was in Diablo 1.

I can't say what the guild is, because my "butting heads" with the leaders caused my rather shameful dismissal three years ago. There is a high chance members of them are here as well, and if they knew who I was, well, it wouldn't be pretty. Let's leave it at that. They are still around, and if you look on the net, you'll find them. Heres a hint: The head webmaster of a famous RPG website (One of the biggest) was one of "Big dogs" in the guild. I still feel bad to this day about what I did. Part of my attitude here is my way of making up for what I did there.

You got it RoadGodd, I have a server picked out. A few of my friends from work/social are going to be on PSO before the end of next month. (They need to buy a DC first, THEN the game) So I'm going to pick a server thats bare, and a block thats almost totally vacant.

And Dev:

They didn't get me, but they got two of my friends. One was trapped for 20 minutes and eventually disconnected so he could recconect. but by then, my space in the game was taken up.

One of our finest moments consisted of 15 of them rushing the britain sewers and losing to us.. 0_o

No, theres nothing wrong with that, well, not really.

The problem with that guild was that we started it on a lark. It was me, and three other people, and we were the kings of the Battle.net Official Diablo boards. We OWNED those web boards...

but then, the kids starting coming. Our Diablo channel consisted of about 10 members, and 20 "Troublemakers". Because I was one of the "founding members" I was targeted, and my temper was far worse back then, causing me to snap at whomever "slighted" me. It was bad all around. We even had PKs who applied for membership anonymously and would pk us in our own games. That happened so many times that we eventually stopped taking apps altogether.

Hehe.. I could never get into diablo1. Always would be BAFFLED at how my friends could play it for hours on end, when I play it for 15 min and instantly get bored.. *shrug*

Same with diablo2, but me and a bud were hooked, played it for about 3 days straight, until we beat it, then it went into the closet.. plus my old uo friend (the other PK from atlantic, actually) told me multiplayer was really lame, PVP consisted of whoever hits first is dead and such.. that, combined with early battlenet probs turned me off.

Anyway, if you ever decide on where to play at, email/icq/pm or whatnot me and I'll check it out if you want.. I haven't ever really had a stable place to play online, and I dare not play public games at my first ship, Titania; and now that Pucks' the battle-front for WW3, I'm open for new places.

I remember doing something similar to the Dagger -50% Dark in Diablo - playing a sorcerer using crappy equipment and mana shield. Club of the fool, cap of the jackal, something like that... they all had minuses.

Whatever, these guys are pathetic. I'm not gonna put up with them. I have better things to do, like get some lovin' from my girl, rather than worry about a silly video game and a bunch of silly little kiddies.

Hmm.. a shame for newbies in the wings like me. I am still waiting for my PSO to ship from England, and was hoping to meet up with you guys.

Anyway, I find it quite interesting actually.. as long as a BSOD doesn't wipe your character (remember, we know how to backup again - good work Sega, you solved JACK), and a freeze doesn't do to much too you.. then it actually is a bit of fun. Sure, I'd hate it, but look at what you wrote.. you actually had to run to a teleporter for your life! How cool is that? Not "Ooh crap, I'm in trouble, just disconnect" or "just save then try it later" or something. You actually had try to get out of that land before you were caught! Real danger you will feel, not just something you can catch up on in typical PSO style. They had you worried, panicked, then relieved.. you made it out alive!

And that sounds a bit like gameplay to me.

Just to let you know I was in a lobby where pretty much everyone seemed to throw around spells. I thought to run but curiosity got the better of me and I purposely walked into the midst of the casting.

You suffer no damage whatsoever from the spells though you can be affect by a side effect such as being frozen in Ice. It lasts its normal duration and wont even interupt you if your occupied at the command counter. After like 5 minutes the guys got bored because no one reacted and they left. So fear them not. They can do no "real" harm.

Without explaing how point by point, let me say there IS a way to cause the entire lobby to crash giving everyone in the lobby the BSOD.

Don't hang around in a lobby with people casting magic.

Oi. PK'ing. Seems someone's figured out how to do that now - I'll post who in the cheaters forum. Anway, I was hit with resta, of all things. Here I am, after setting up a pipe in a safe place, waiting for the guy to come down while I shoot a bunch of sharks - in comes this force dude, and I'm thinking "hey, this guys's probably gonna freeze those bastards so I can really mow them down." He casts resta, instead, and I'm pushing daisies. WTF? Asshole had the temerity to say "Thanks for your weapons" before doing that, too. Whatever, I can get dozens other justices. So I gave one of the other guys in the game a Varista to replace the one that he lost to the PK'er, and the other guy got something else from the dude I gave the Varista to.

that little gidget was getting me really annoyed with her ice Pking.. i was actually doing the punching poses with my fomarl (using alt +f keys).. i just wish they were taking effect.. sobs.

sadly enough people were gathering around her telling her how great she was.. which pissed me off to no end. and so i started doing it pretending to her be great, but was really being sarcastic about it all..

though im still a lv37 fomarl, (weakling really) i still play the game as intended (no cheating) out of respect for people who did get far (lv 100s) without cheating and for fear that i might not be able to use the append disc (if it comes to uk).. still i have to admit i did take some money gidget drop (testing to see if they can be picked up) and other items given by higher levelers (though i dont know if they are fake)... but given how irrating some people become with their gameshark codes, i think i should pass from using them.

There should be dern OPs and/or guides in PSO lobbies that can just bounce people. The main main main MAIN reason for this is harrasment. Using cheats to cast spells and lock people may not fall under a strict harrasment term... but I have played in games and been in lobbies with kids who throw sexist remarks constantly at 'female' characters. And those ever nifty and offensive animations using the faces...

I am not offended by them at all but someone could be and that is ripe for lawsuit without some system to prevent it.

Back to something Kazee said a few posts back. I am a new poster so please don't beat me around as an initiation ritual, lol, but what IS sega doing about the stupid pk in the lobby. I hear it can bsod people who are teleporting. Yet I saw it for the first time over a week ago, and it seams to get worse by the day. These people are literally ruining the game for others, not just testing their moral ethics on dupe items. THEY ARE RUINING CHARACTERS SEGA!!! The people who do it are not hard to tell, and I've sent emails with user names the last 3 days to Sega USA, hoping it will do some good. I have my doubts they will do anything though. My question is this. If they won't stop the people who wipe out innocent characters, using gameshark/xploder in the open online public where they can't hide, how lame is their claim that they will ban any user found to be using a gs/xploder to lvl up or dupe items?? And when version 2 comes out how many hours do you think it will take the coders ( they aren't hackers ) to have things back to their sick twisted normal? You see ver1 was supposed to have significant safe guards against cheaters. I think it took about a week after US release for the gameshark freaks really started poping up. I used to blame the gs people. Now I'm putting the blame where it now belongs.... On the good people at Sega. Thanks for the engaging topics and information posters and webmasters. It's fun to be back on a top notch forum.

I usually do not post here in the general forum, but you bring up some good points Sheo. I am a very big supporter of, "just ignore them and they can do nothing." For instance, as someone else pointed out, all of the symbol chat nastiness and language grates on my nerves, but I am able to simply go into a game/ move servers etc. Same with duping and sharkers/ xploders whatever, play only with ppl you know.

This example you have brought to our attention Sheo, however is a different story altogether. When I arrive in a lobby I am not expecting to be hit by Gizonde, let alone a BSOD! It is just absurd to think someone would find enjoyement in doing such things. Sure, the same ppl that do this are probably not affected by the BSOD because they can simply Shark themselves a new item or character for that matter, therefore finding humor in their juvenile actions. Losing items to me is obnoxious, but they ARE replaceable, even if it is something not as cool and/or weaker. The day some loser BSOD's my 306+ hrs into never never land is the day I truly get angry at a game. My xploder knowledge being slim to none, I cannot say if they can actually BSOD a single person or not. (Although, someone pointed out that it was indeed possible.) Just the fact of threatening a BSOD is obscene enough as it is! ...

To be honest, it has been a long time since I have played in either an a)popular ship/block or b) a US ship at all. Lately I have been going to some remote JP server and inviting my own friends. And... Unless you lock the game on JP servers you inevitably get some greedy hand-me-out hopeful lvl 42 US player pop in, sans courteous greeting and spout something to the effect of the following: "Are you Japanese? (usually more offensive and illiterate, however). Immediately followed by: "Do you have XX Weapon?????" in all caps repeated enough to make me think it is a damn hotkey! That however is off-topic and is another discussion in itself.

Personally non of these antics are going to "force" me to quit PSO. (unless they come up with a serial # ban code O_o). I will always be around, even if it is with the 10-20 ppl I am absolutely sure I can trust.

On a similar note, I always like to find new ppl to play with for a change of pace. The majority of PSO players' attitude make it frustrating to find new + honest + reasonably intelligent + reasonably mature ppl to play with. One more example (I realize I am just spewing to most likely no result, but hey, I just got up and feel chatty! =P) I joined a game the other day... after seemingly finding reasonable ppl, my hopes were crushed.

Guy A) Obscene Symbol chat repeated to the point of absurdity.

Guy B) Do you HAVE WEAPONS FOR ME???
Guy B) DO YOU HAVE A SWORD FOR ME??? This was also repeated to such a sickening degree, I couldn't see Delsaber slappin' me on the side of the head!

At any rate, Sheo, I agree with you nearly, if not a whole 100%. Noticing the recent trend of this post becoming a Matchup post, I will follow in suit. Sheo and anyone else who has posted something in agreement, pls feel free to contact me via PM. It would be tops going into a new game with ppl new to me being fairly confident I wont have to see a dope smokin' masturbating purple face! Much less the more severe annoyances.

I had Rage help transfer my items over to my new char when all that was going on. Since Puck9 was tripping out with all that stuff, we jumped over to 17/15 (which is some other site's hangout, i think) and this other guys was casting magic there. So it's not just Puck9.

Also Sheo, before to swap ships, hunt me down and send me your card. Weren't you supposed to give it to me like 5 days ago? =P

Well it's cool that you all have folks you can trust. I have been at PSO World for a while now but I haven't posted any. I am (more than) a regular at another gaming site with boards and chat, but those boards are not nearly as sociable as these. Hence, two months into PSO, and I only know one person who is against duping and cheating like I am, and that I play with regularly. I'm going to establish more of a presence here and see if I can meet some of you online.
