Uh, sorry for posting two topics but my last one might be a bit misleading (though thanks for the kind folk who confirmed that PSO settings are the same worldwide). I have a cable ISP with a cable modem and a global IP which I plug my computer into via a LAN cable. Now when I try to start PSO I get error #015 which tells me that the DHCP didn't provide an IP address and that it (the DHCP) may be down or non-existant.
Any ideas on what to do?
I tried to do a "ipconfig /all" on my computer and manually entered all the info but I still could not connect.
Any help anyone might offer would be greatly aprreicated.

Thanks in advance.

How is your Xbox/GC connected? Through a hub, switch or router? If it's a hub, your ISP may only provide one IP, so you may have to disconnect your computer to get online for PSO. Either that or get a router.

Well I just usually unplug my computer and plug in my GC directly to my cable modem.
I just bought a router today but am having a few problems setting it up (don't suppose anyone knows a good site on that) since I have an English OS and I bought a Japanese Router.
Again any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks

Do you plug the cable into your modem before or after you turn your GC on? If it's after, the GC may not have gotten a chance to grab an IP. Try plugging it in before you power on.

That sometimes happens to me, as I use the same modem for the computer and GC. I swap the connections a lot, but whenever that error occurred, it was just because I had to unplug the modem from the socket. This is because the modem needs to be rebooted whenever you change the inputs.

I also tried that and it doesn't seem to be working. Guess I'll keep on pluging away (maybe once I figure out how to get my modem up it'll be better).

Thanks again

You also need to work out the settings for your modem as well so that it works. According to this sheet I got with my BBA, it should work if plugged into the cable modem so it must be your settings then. You might need to plug the cable modem to your PC to see what the settings are for it and then enter that into the PSO network settings.

If rebooting your cable modem isn't working you might have to give the mac address printed on the bottom of your bba to your isp.

setup the router with your comp then connect the gc to the router, it should provide the ip address
