How to find mag cells

Ok - not so much an answer, as a question...

I was chatting to a on guy on Pioneer a couple of days ago who said he'd spent 5 hours repeatedly doing the 'Fake in Yellow' quest on V.Hard to try and find mag cells. This makes sense in a way because the high number of Rappys in the quest presumably make it more likely to find Al Rappys.

However, since my understanding is that you don't find rare items on quests, was this a waste of time ? Btw, he never found any.

well i have FINALLY found one mag cell in forest on vhard and as a matter of fact it dropped from a booma.there were no other creatures in the room except for the booma variations but this plain ol' booma was right in front of me and and when i killed it the mag cell was right there in front of me as well. it was a cell of mag 502. as far as rappys go those lil' sh**s give me nothing but barriers and meseta. as far as the quest thing goes i have found semi-rares in them but nothin uber-rare http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif.

I found my cell 502 from a booma as well. My ID is VIRIDIA.

Has anyone ever found a cell anywhere but the forest?? It seems like anyone who has found one there has found 502.

Everything I've read suggests you don't get them anywhere other than the forest on v.hard. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has found one elsewhere.

I'm enouraged by the previous post - my ID is Viridia as well.

I have a lvl 88 RAmar with a section ID of Skyly, and the only Mag cell is the one I traded for. And the only rare weapons I've found were: a double saber, a flame visit, and a chainsawd. I dunno why, maybe my section ID sucks...

i had found a cell of mag 213 in v.hard forest 2 dropped by either a booma or rappy. i was surrounded by them at the time, so i wasn't sure, but i think it was a booma that dropped it. my section id is oran level 100 ramar, so i would've gotten a preta as my rare mag, but i lent over my madhu and mag cell to a trusted friend to evolve it into a churel (since he was a yellowboze). i think i should've gone w/ the preta instead, because all my churel does is cast resta all the time, and never makes me invincible. sigh...
