GC: almost corrupted!

ok so i was going on online and i get on and get into a lobby (thank god) so i walk like 5ft. and this black screen pops up and im like fuck! so it reads something like read your gamecube manual to find out about this problem. or something like that (if it does it any more ill right what it reads) sop then i press the power and hold it and then i try to pull the net cable and it gets out of the black screen and DCed so then i was hold the power and it was saving then i tryed to get on one more time. so i got in to the lobby fine so i went to a game and when i got in it saved and shit. then the black screen poped up so i just DCed and then its saves and i just shut it off so it could rest. thats is any one know whats up with this?
damn i just did it ok here is what it is saying "The game disc could not be read. please read the Nintendo
GameCube instruction booklet for more info."


p.s. its cant be the game because the pso copy isnt mine and my friend doesnt play it that much and i tryed mine.

It's the gamecube, the laser's dirty or something. That error means that it can't read the disc. And the topic's misleading "almost corrupted", you were nowhere near corruption either of those times...

And you were holding down the power while saving.... why?

because the screen was frozen on thats black screen and then i try the net cable but did nothing so i pop open the disc cover.. dont matter now i cleaned it and it works now
