Help me with Photoshop!

I just got it but I can't figure out how to layer things over another thing. PLEASE HELP! I mean like combine 2 images and have both visible. That make sense? Oh well, thanx to anyone who can help.

If you're looking to combine the images, check the opacity of the foreground image, then start erasing from the lay it's on until you get the resutls you desire.
