New Mod

I'd like to invite Bit on our team as our newest mod. He'll be moderating general, trade and mags/quest. As usual he's a junior spud for now.

Frink will also be helping out in Off topic.

So please join me in welcoming Bit on to the team. Bit was a natural choice as we've seen all the work and help he's put in in the forums especially proving links and information. Some of you guys also recommended Bit.

In case you haven't noticed, one of our old timer mods, Iceblink, is no longer modding. In this light, we brought Bit on as Iceblink's replacement. New fresh faces to the staff!

I've never really had the thoughts of ever becoming a mod, but it seems fitting, for now I can continue helping others, and keep some sense of peace around in the forums, like I've preached about before.

I plan to help out to the best of my ability, and even more then that.

Nice going, Bit. I remember a time when I wanted to be a mod here. But, I know that I don't stand a chance in heck to be a mod, so I just stopped caring for the position. Oh, well. It's still fun to help out. Congrats, man.

The mods get special avatars because they are inherently special themselves with powers we mortals cannot even begin to fathom. Bit's name was written onto the tablet of power eons ago by a great, all knowing spirit. Bit was meant to be a mod, and therefore Iceblink was meant to cease his modship at this time. It is a small comfort we can partake in during these troubling times.

The Mods make the choice on that. I believe it's based on how they think someone can help.

Let me know if I'm wrong here, but the process of modship on many sites follows a simple tradition of practice:

Typically you will be offered a job doing this wonderful reading of posting and working your posterior off for no pay, a 'special' avator, and the worship of millions...

...okay, no worship of millions.

And the decision will be made by those already with the label of 'mod' or 'admin' in their custom titles. Suggestions can be made, and the end choice rests with those with the supreme power of the site. Typically, there are only so many 'slots' to be filled, though if a need for more staff members, they 'hire' them.
